#ifihadglass – put on the sunglasses lenses, pretend I was the terminator. Identifying face… Sarah Connor… Sarah Connor… Though I am not a T-800 (or T-1000 for that matter) I think that the prospect of (some) wearable technology is awesome.
3 reasons why:
1. Less obtrusive than ever before. Fitbit flex and Nike Fuelband are great examples. Lightweight, subtle, and most importantly more durable.
Side note: I’m more partial to the Flex largely due to the enhanced capabilities (sleep tracking) and am getting one when it comes out this Spring.
2. Cost is finally in line with what I’m willing to pay. Obviously, everything in the technology world follows the smaller, faster, cheaper pattern. It’s finally reaching a point where I’ll gladly spend $150 on the Pebble Watch for all the perks.
3. Cooler, easily integration apps. Pebble watch with the rangefinder app? Giddy up… Fitbit flex vibrate sleep alarm… awesome. “Google glasses, identify face.. I can’t remember their name” I’d feel like an asshole but why not?! I don’t need a pedometer to tell me I don’t walk enough thanks to my desk job, but I’d still like to track fitness and set goals from there.
I think as long as I limit it to wearing one thing at a time, I think I can avoid looking like a cyborg.

If you don't think the LIBOR Scandal going on isn't a big deal, or was just limited to a few banks including Barclays you couldn't be more wrong. I just read an interesting article that said on Wall Street:
"Nearly one-fourth of financial services professionals feel it’s at least sometimes necessary to do illegal or unethical things to be successful, and many are motivated to do so by fat bonuses and other compensation.
That’s according to a new survey of 500 U.S. and British fund managers, bankers, asset managers and other financial services professionals."
Doesn't exactly shed positive light on an industry that I work in...
Booking reservations and buying tickets with friends can be a pain: finding the right events, exchanging myriad links and emails, coordinating schedules. “And then one person always gets stuck footing the bill for everyone else, and has to worry about collecting payments and cash from their friends afterward,” says Jared Hecht. “It ruins the experience.”

Project Glass, glad they're making sure you can host google+ hangouts as you skydive!
As VCs target investments in social media where there is potential to catch lightning in a bottle and generate unreal returns, STEM investments get less hype/headlines. On the flipside, STEM investments are better drivers of growth for the economy, jobs, and payoff more for everyone long term. Sometimes I think that is forgotten when you have to promise/deliver huge returns for LPs.
I like the Treehouse method, 4 day work weeks, be productive and get out of there. I believe I could do all my work in less time, unfortunately I am often stuck waiting on other people for materials that I need to complete my job...
If given the opportunity, I think I could perform more work if the reward was less time at the office, my motivation/productivity would skyrocket.
Isn't airtime a chatroulette without all the dicks?
I'll admit, i haven't spent enough time in Airtime (Sean Parker's new venture) to make a definitive statement one way or the other, but the first thing I thought of when I watched the intro video was a PG rated Chatroulette. Logging in with facebook means that you're hardly anonymous which means that some jackass is much less likely to flash his junk into a camera for awhile.
I'll be really interested to see if Airtime does a good job matching up people that will spark up conversation, it seems to me like an awkward forced interaction. Then again, people loved chatroulette before the trolls took ahold.
The demo was a slight hiccup, but building it into facebooks network is a great way to generate faster adoption among young users. I'll keep checking it out, interested to see if he has any plans to make it standalone, I doubt hes looking to exit quickly...
EDIT: saw that the Zuck was using it and got paired up with some random guy, I think if that happened to me I'd be speechless. How would you break the ice with that guy?
