It was not long before Azaryne realized a fundamental difference between himself and his Daedric counterparts. They both were deathless by the will of those who made them what they were. However, the Daedra were made to be strong, to fight fearlessly… The soul-shriven were made to suffer. As he traveled, he would find himself in situations that he simply could not fight through. He was killed by bandits for his empty coin purse, spilling lava from the Red Mountains, giant snakes, werewolves, and all manner of creatures. No matter how vigilant he was, there was always something to catch him off guard, and no matter how many times he opened death’s door, the terror never eased. The only comfort he had was in knowing that each time he detached from the physical world, and was drawn back toward the darkness of coldharbour, a strong tug would pull from the center of his being– where his soul used to be– and guide him back toward the light. He imagined that this is what the Prophet had meant by “re-attuning him to Nirn”. He knew that as long as he followed that feeling, he would wake up by a shrine somewhere near where he had died, and his journey would start fresh.

First Archery Lesson
I needed to draw a smol Az. I can just hear him now yelling “Father, father, look! I hit the target!” Meanwhile, the arrow is probably sticking out of the side of the target having rebounded off a stone and Casimar in the background just trying to keep both his hands from moving to cover his face. Good job son. You’ll make the family proud.

Az’s Bag Collection Part 5: Wisp Light Globe
One of the few objects that Az nicked genuinely because he liked it. It makes a nice fidget toy during long sleepless nights worrying.
Doodle of @tricksterpale‘s Irvane.
She’s a Dunmer templar who was found as an infant and raised by Argonian runaway slaves. And yeah, she’s pretty well done with everyone’s shit.
Race: Dunmer Age: 27 at time of death Height: 6'4" Weight: 175lb Nicknames/Pseudonyms: Az, Azaryne Sathyron MBTI: ENFP Upbringing: Noble born Notable traits: Optimistic, empathetic, forgiving Orientation: Recipromantic Asexual S/O: Eventually, D'tannen Friends: Irvane Family: Eralane (younger sister), Merillius “Meril” (younger brother), Liloris (mother), Casimar (father, deceased),
In life, Azaryne was a highborn noble of house Redoran. In spite of being raised within the strict house philosophy that “a light, careless life is not worth living”, he has always been a free spirit, and in youth, was frequently punished by his parents to act more maturely. Eventually he learned to play by the rules, but would occasionally disappear for brief moments of independence.
At some point, he managed to befriend a stray dog that frequently wandered near the fort and picked through the trash for scraps. The scruffy mutt took a liking to him above any others, and , naming it “Blackjack”, Az decided to take care of it. He built a small shelter for it across the inlet near an abandoned daedric temple, and would return daily to bring food and play.
Azaryne was killed at age 27 by Mannimarco as one of the first group of Worm Cult sacrifices in Morrowind. He spent 20 years in Coldharbour before escaping with the aid of the Prophet and Lyris Titanborn. There, his story begins.

Chapter 1: The Last Day
It was hard to tell if the pain in his head was from a blow or the fall. Azaryne could still taste the bitter flavor of sleeping magic on his tongue, but it was impossible to determine the source.
Taking inventory of his body, he realized that his hands were carefully bound together by thick rope. There was barely enough room to keep from stopping circulation, and certainly no opportunity to wriggle free. His cheek was pressed against a cold, musty smelling surface. As his vision came into focus, he realized he was lying on a cobbled stone floor.
Memories swam through his mind groggily as he fought to remember where he was– or at least where he had been the last time he was conscious. He could hear a girl’s voice… The clashing of steel…
“Oh, come on Meril!” Eralane shouted.
She dropped her sword arm in frustration and shook her head, pulling more strands of hair from her disheveled braid. Merilius’s face was pale and sweaty, and Azaryne wondered for a moment if he might be about to retch.

Az’s Bag Collection Part 4: Erotic Argonian Etchings
Az “confiscated” this from a bookshelf and occasionally attempts to describe pages to D’tannen on long trips between towns.
I’ve been having fun with this style lately. Also playing around with different styles of plates.
Anyways, here’s Ali for my babe @griffinsarboretum <3
Az’s Bag Collection Part 3: Solid Oak Armor Stand
D’tannen told Az that there are just some things you can’t nick inconspicuously and get away with it. Az thought that was quitter talk.
Hey, so who remembers these dogs?
Anyways, here’s Az and D’tannen.
Az’s Bag Collection Part 2: Falconer’s Harness
After he stole this, Az spent the next week harassing D’tannen about training a falcon. He only really cared about the idea for the first three days. The following four days were just to see how much longer D’tannen would get irritated.
Needless to say, he never actually trained a falcon.
I wish I was better at drawing dogs so I wouldn’t have to use google images as references, but this is definitely 100% how I imagine Blackjack, Az’s lovable companion.
Az’s Bag Collection Part 1: Daedric Tarot Cards
Az took these specifically to use Molag Bal’s cards as dartboards and kindling.
Wandering through Tamriel
Bartender: Were you the one who saved the bards at Skald's Retreat?
Azaryne: Uh... haha. I think I just have one of those faces.
Guard passing by: Some of my Dark Elf friends are still upset that Saint Veloth's shrine was attacked! And by one of their own!
Azaryne: That's. That's great. I have to be going now.
Shopkeeper: Is it true they summoned Balreth to defeat the Daggerfall army at Davon's Watch?
Azaryne: What divine to I have to pray to? I swear I will never do anything noteworthy again in my life. Please, just make them leave me alone.
Lorebook Discovered Azaryne’s Coldharbour Journals
First in a series of writing about the Eso nerds. Mild spoilers for the end of ESO Main Story. Final 2 pages under the cut.
Context: After arriving in Coldharbour for the second time, returning with the guilds to put a stop to the planemeld, Az, D’tannen and company find themselves scattered. Az, being a vestige that has been in coldharbour before, has unique advantages and disadvantages to existing in this realm. The final journal leads into the climax scene where D’tannen finds Azaryne, offers him a skyshard and...
That’s all I can say for now.
