between protecting stray people or the random graveyards he finds, grim has a shocking amount of spare time. he usually likes to spend that time wandering without aim, sniffing at whatever smells good to a spirit dog, or, in this case, relaxing in the moonlight of an empty sidewalk. he’s sprawled out there, tongue lolling and eyes bright in the darkness, simply watching ( and blocking the entire sidewalk but hey - don’t tell him that ).
if you’re interested in a centuries-old, asshole witch that; will tear you a new one just for fun (they’re bored), is extremely powerful but doesn’t use it for much (why bother?), and owns a teleporting shop full of magical items (because why not), can you hit the like or reblog button so that we can check you out and maybe follow? thanks!!

experiment time for grim -- if he sits here looking like a happy dog then someone will decide to come by and give him a treat - or a pet, or maybe show him someplace to guard? it’s been a while since he protected anything. of course, grim is not aware of the fact that he’s probably a bit intimidating standing here in the shadows. no one has come by in a while, but surely someone will soon?

are most dogs aware of the rules of personal space? is grim aware of the rules of personal space? the short answer here is no, and the second answer here is demonstrated in the fact that the spirit dog has already stuck his nose into the face of this being. something has attracted him to them, and his easy-quick solution is to greet them like this, his tail wagging slowly, cautiously. his ears are back, producing something that could be considered meek if his size wasn’t taken into consideration.

sometimes, there’s very obvious reasons for grim’s choices. if someone gives the spirit dog some sort of food he’ll protect them. other times it may be attributed to boredom. maybe it’s just a random choice. maybe there’s some strange connection or energy he feels that tugs him to a person. any way, grim has decided to follow this person, plodding along beside him like he’s on a leash. every once in a while he’ll stop and stare, as if asking is this ok? do you want me to leave?
honestly you could probably hate grim and he would still love u
