So it took me a good 2-2.5 hours to get to the convention. I attended in hopes it wouldn't be a waste of time.
There was a pre-registration on Thursday. Because of the travel time, it'd be a waste of time if I actually did that.
I mean, who really likes their precious time being wasted like that?
Friday:
No fucking way I went on this day. You could only enjoy the convention for four hours, unless you stay for some of the night events.
I-It's not like I missed out on anything important b-baka.
The only thing that sucked was there was a Melee tournament going on at 9:00 pm. I would go, but that would defeat the purpose of why I decided not to go on that day. Basically, I'd be home at around 2:00 am, if I stayed for the tournament.
Instead, I stayed home, played games, and enjoyed some usagis.
Saturday:
Friday, plans were made to meet somewhere with fellow anime club members and get to the convention from there. I overslept, thus, going to the convention by myself and meeting with everyone there.
Oops?
At the registration line, I asked the guy scanning the tickets and giving me my pass, for confirmation, if I should put my full name. Obviously, he said yes, and then told me I can put my "anime name", in brackets, under my name. I hope he didn't suggest that to anyone else during the convention.
We're trying to cure cancer, not spread it even more!
After figuring out where I am and where all the places are, I met up with everyone else. Some apologies were made. In the same place, we got wristbands for some Masquerade Ball. At that time, I thought it was gonna be pretty cool.
We went to the main building to one of the halls. Along the way, my friends took some pictures of the cosplayers.

Once we reached the hall, we saw that one part of it was taken for swordplay lessons and the another part was taken for some kind of Cosplay Chess thing. Both of them were really fucking boring, so we went out for lunch.

At around 3:00 pm, there weren't any panels that interested me, so I ended up going to the Dealers' Room. Going in to the convention, there was only one thing I was interested to buy, mainly because I was too lazy to go downtown and get it from a hobby store.
It's really beautiful. This is also the closest thing to a "selca" any Internet people will get from me.
Nothing else really tempted me. Part of it was because of online shopping, and the other part of it was because there wasn't merch I wanted from some of the series I liked.
I did say that none of the panels interested me, or something would give me some shits and giggles, but that was before I encountered this:
I sure missed out on a lot of quality cancer, I mean, panels!
We went outside, and "group leader" in a sense, who also happens to be the new president of my university's anime club, asked someone to take a group photo of us.
"Let's pretend we actually like Anime North!"
Around 6:00 pm, I found out that the Masquerade Ball is more of a viewing for us. With that, I looked around the Dealers' Room, went outside and saw some more cosplayers, and went home with two of my friends.
It wasn't until after I got home, the others went to the Jpop Dance Party event. Tears were shed.
If I got a job, I'd stay in a hotel next year.
Sunday:
I left around 9:45 am. Halfway to the convention, I found out that one of the members drove 3 other members from Saturday's meetup place to the convention.

On the way there, I got bored and played all the mobile rhythm games I had. Someone noticed and started talking to me.
I wonder if we have the same tastes.
We were talking during the bus ride. She was pretty cool, if you ask me.
So I went to the Kill La Kill panel with a friend. I learned to never go to series panels because it's just a real-life discussion with a bigger group of people.
What a shitty start.
After the panel, I ended up meeting with one of my Skype friends. I guess it was oka-

Fuck.
After the meeting, we all headed towards one of the main halls for the Cosplay Fashion Show. We were mainly there because one of my friends had chicken wraps, and I wanted to mooch off him.
So simple, yet so tasty.
More Dealers' Room crap, afterwards. That hall had great AC, though. Still nothing I wanted to buy. I did, however, found my favourite cosplay of the convention.

We went around to find more opportunities for cosplay photos. Anyways, I went off on my own to line up for the KanColle panel. I think waiting in line before the panel and during the panel I talked the most (and had the most fun) in the convention. A number of things we talked about before the panel:
how many Yamato attempts people did
favourite ship girl
how the glitch, which occurred on the first day of last event, fucked people over
RNG stinx'ing
other stuff that made me talk a lot
The lineup was pretty long, we had to make a second line adjacent to the first line,

The panel itself was alright. It mainly covered stuff that I already knew, since I'm playing the game. I didn't follow much news on the anime, so when the panelists mentioned it and said some updates on it, I know for sure I'm not going to like the anime adaptation. Oh, and I saw the Kongou crossplayer during the panel as well.
Afterwards, I said bye to my Skype friend, since the group was leaving, and I rather not deal with a 2-2.5-hour bus trip home.
We took a bit of a detour by going to a sushi place.
I've been told it's a pretty good place.
Pres: Are you gonna attend AN next year?
Me: Probably
Upperclassman: Did you not learn from this year?
After all that, the group leader drove us to the mall near our university and went home.
Overall, it was alright. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything that made me scream, "I want to attend Anime North again in the next year!"
I'll probably still attend next year because at least it gives me an excuse to hang out with friends.
As for FanExpo, which is in three months, I really hope none of my friends attend that crap so I won't have to feel obliged to attend.
If you thought there were lots of casualfags at Anime North, go to FanExpo and take those words back.
One last remark: I probably should have hung out with Dark_Sage on Friday or something. I've been told (mostly from him) he makes boring convention experiences un-boring.
Earlier, I was talking about how happy I was that the next School Idol Festival (JP) event, which is going to be 16 hours from now, is a Honoka event, because I still don't have a Honoka SR/UR card. A couple of minutes after, I had an opportunity to do an Honor Student Scout, and this happened.
So Anime North's in a week, and I'm slightly interested in only 4 of the panels. Guess I'll be spending most of the event walking around. Can I show up there drunk or something?
