I swear you can’t tell me this wasn’t worth the drive
I know folks is on HOTD and ROP right now, but I just re-watched LCC and watched the new Interview with a Vampire and I have a few points that I peeped as I'm loving IWV and I love LCC. Hang with me y'all because y'all know I love to write on here. So here it goes so like I said I just re-watched Lovecraft Country and I noticed some parallels that I saw with Interview with a vampire that have an intriguing back story to Ruby and Chirstina on LCC and I'm only gonna talk about show not books, but I noticed that Lestat and Christina are the lovers that love their Black Partners, yet there is a toxicity in the love that they hold. They don't understand the lives that their lovers have lived nor do they understand the hurt of racial discrimination they have sadly gone through, and sadly nor do they care for the state of the world in such matters.
Christina and Lestat want the full potential of their lovers as they believed that giving them power would solve the strife of Blackness. And onto that Christina and Lestat push there white ideas on to their lovers whether they be killers or unshackled by the burdens of there familial ties and duty, yet they cannot comprehend that level of uprooting a life dispite having once lived it themselves nor them uprooting a Black life at that. Christina and Lestat often have supernatural and social power beyond reachable measure as a white man and woman living in really segregated times. Not to mention they have other worldly powers as well Lestat being a vampire and Christina a skilled witch in her own right. And while they act as the forbidden fruit when it comes to the tempting and access of power via magic or vampirism they often forget the most tangible essence of life which is something Ruby and Louis hold onto as Black characters.
Now while the god complex that Christina and Lestat carry come from the root of social abuse found in there families and between the relationships there fathers, there ability to indiscriminately ruin lives is fueled by thier whiteness. While Ruby and Louis actions due to there places as victims in a racist society, and in a social context they seek there power in the name of the racial injustices they have faced while being black and human. Louis killing a racist white contractor and Ruby evening the scrore on her once racist & rapist white boss show the parallels of power & humanity underneath there rage. Just as well it shows Ruby & Louis ability to use the powers there white lovers have given them to change. There is so much I wanna say about these two couples but I might put it into a You Tube Video.
Point is White Folks is crazy and they always roping us into shit. 🤣🤣🤣
So now she wants to notice that there were queer characters in her story. I dont know what to think of this mess, for me it seems that Misha's doing this mess because her deal with Tomb Raider fell through, and now her future with Black Canary might be on the line because DC is going bankrupt and might cut that too. Not to mention that Apple hasn't been using her despite being on "Contact" point is if she had been decent to people at HBO she would've been a better position to have more. In Hollywood its best to never piss people off because studios talk and word travels fast when you are toxic, to where no studio wants to work with you. Moral of the story is don't bite the hand that feeds you. There is a reason why this is happening to her, and if she had a better attitude instead of being arrogant and toxic like I said years ago and she would've had more sadly. Nevertheless, I'm glad she made Baby Billy Cannon, but still it's two years too late.
I'm back people and I've learn how to edit videos myself I'm still a bit rough around the edges but imma get on that ASAP but stay tuned for it!
Not me wanting a wedding like this

Wow I just can’t believe it. But I actually can believe some of the allegations about the actual Toxicity behind the scenes of Lovecraft Country. So I started to read James Andrew Miller on the Big Revelations in HBO Book ‘Tinderbox’ and it mentioned Misha’s Toxicity on the Lovecraft Country Set. While I can believe it there are others who still are in denial about this being a smear campaign on her from HBO which is not true. As I’ve been saying since time and time again Art reflects life, and I saw things from the screen that gave me an idea to what was behind it with Misha and fellow company.
While normally I would be in agreement that women of color especially Black Women often face the negative stigma of us being too loud or demanding and toxic once we state our opinions. This is not the case for Misha. From the Kelli Amirah and colorism scandal, to the mixed and harmful messages of queerness in the show, its negativity towards interracial queer couples, mishandling of indigenous two-spirited-peoples, Shannon Houston stating on the Lovecraft Country Podcast that she was yelled at for turning in her script past the deadline, and now to these allegations; in the high premise of everything surrounding the HBOs cancelation of Lovecraft Country due to toxicity it seemed like the right call to make.
To me it seems as if toxicity came from the writers room and traveled down to the staff and maybe the actors. A part of it is a shame that this show got canceled, as I wanted to see what was in store for baby Billie aka Ruby and Christina’s child; but the atmosphere told on itself along with the writing, the interviews, failure to win amongst the awards shows, and even sometimes with the arrogant responses Misha Gave on Interview’s. No one wants to work with a toxic person or a person who allows toxicity, and to that minus all of the negative themes of the show is what caused it’s undoing. Hopefully next time Misha could learn from her mistakes.
New video out about HOTD Trailer 🙄🙄

Check out my latest intake on the previous Emmys Awards show
So Eighteen Nominations and two wins were all Lovecraft Country had to show for it? Welp it’s the end of an era people! I think this is an important lesson on how Black Queerness Matters along with correct Representation to 2 Spirited people, along with intersectionality within POC communities. Misha did NOT deliver on that and her work suffered for it, she changed characters from the book and made them queer coded; only to have them killed off screen or brutally murdered, not mention the issue of making them child abusers aka Montrose also (R.I.P MKW) or “Uncle Toms” for not allowing there families to manipulate them.
I know certain concerns about queerness were not talked about because it was a period piece. However, still making gay people evil and non-repentive abusers is NOT character development! It’s bad that people still in 2021 going on 2022 still sees LBGTQA2S+ as villains or some boogieman that needs to be killed on a show or in real life to emphasize some kind of toxic heteronormativity. However, queer-baiting and the killing your gays troupe does not add anything to the Queer Community especially the Queer Black Community and Trans Black Community that are still being killed today. Before working on complex layers of Queer Villainy we should work on Queer Heroism instead, and once those crimes made by our institutions to Queer POC are payed for then we can add the complexity of villainy to our queer characters. Until then, what Misha did was NOT that. Misha’s Emmy Loss is a reflection of NOT racism by the awards system; but of suppression, and not on the Emmys end, but on Misha’s end as she suppressed the better part of queer black relationships on the show, and dashed them away like waves breaking on a shore.
Intersectionality has a big part of the Black Community as it also is an issue where those who are Black, Straight, and Cis and oppressed by a Racist White System find another within there group who are different to oppress particularly someone from the LBGTQA2S+. I felt that Misha’s work told Toxic Intersectionality within Black Spaces in the perspective of her own personal feelings towards Queer People, and it manifested in the show in an ugly way now that I rewatch it in later 2021. A part of me is vindicated as I’m glad that the media did not go along with there nominations, as Wunmi and Abbey Lee were not allowed or hosted for there stellar performances as they were swept away like a dirty secret. Even within the interviews they were skipped over and talked over; and yet they stole the whole scene back to back, over there straight counterparts. While I don’t cheer a downfall of a Black Woman. I will call out what is wrong on all sides, but if 2 Emmy wins out of 18 nominations, colorist cases, homophobia, 2 Spirit-Phobia, and Canceled Season 2 is all that Misha has to show for “Black Love” then the Executives at HBO were right to cancel the show. 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
