I couldn’t find a clear list of the full letters anywhere, so here they are! I think these are in the right chronological order, but I might be mistaken.

That’s the end of the letters I’ve found so far! The two letters to Kaeya from Diluc are located in a secret compartment above the Knight’s HQ, found by removing a brick in the wall. The details are as follows:

It looks like Kaeya keeps his important possessions in this secret compartment, including his letters from Diluc, the seashells they collected as children, an eyepatch and a relic from his past.

Hope this helps anyone who can’t play the event but want to be updated on the lore!! :D

Things that we’ve learned about Kaeya and Diluc from HS

Kaeya and Diluc write letters to each other

Kaeya thought Diluc wouldn’t reply to his letters but Diluc actually does

They call each other K and D in the letters (which is kinda cute?)

They’re always looking out for each other. They show that they really care, they really care a lot

Kaeya informed Diluc about everything while he was away, and celebrated when they finally got their revenge on the man who sullied their father’s death

Diluc wants to act solo but he knows there might be times when they have to join forces and doesn’t mind

Diluc has so many of Kaeya’s letters around his house that he has kept

Also, Kaeya has really good handwriting

Kaeya’s eye was wounded when he fought Diluc, but he was not blinded. He wanted to pretend that he was, but Diluc knows the truth

Meaning that Kaeya can perfectly see with his right eye and he wears the eyepatch for another reason

Kaeya doesn’t blame Diluc for the fight, he knows that it was bad timing

Kaeya’s family, the Alberich Clan, were not the original rulers of Khaenri’ah but they took over. Which means that Kaeya is really a prince in a way

His family wanted to revive Khaenri’ah but couldn’t. They still want to continue with their plans (They might be allies with the Abyss Order then?)

Kaeya only has a small paper that talks about his clan that he saved when his birth father tried to eliminate all evidence

Kaeya’s melancholic when he thinks about his Clan and his birth father

Kaeya misses the Winery and goes there frequently, he spent a few days there while Diluc was still away. Kaeya stayed in his old bedroom and all the staff is happy with him

Kaeya has kept some of the seashells they found when they were kids (I’m crying at this)

Sorry to bother you, but please tell me you've seen the new Kaeya and Diluc lore from the hidden strife event. I am literally begging you to write something about it, maybe about Diluc wounding Kaeya's eye? Anyway, please ignore this if you find it annoying, but I'm just really excited to see what you'll come up with, and wait to see what you write!

my impressions on the Genshin TCG so far

Reminders for new ao3 users (in no particular order):

- filter your searches like you would on a library website or in an online catalogue

- don’t post placeholders, fic searches, or recommendations as fics. DON’T! It’s against ao3 TOS

- there is no algorithm. ao3 sorts by date posted/updated unless you filter with specific search criteria

- ao3 is a non profit. that means it doesn’t sell ads to make money — it only survives on donations. this is why it can show you so many fics without ever flashing an ad or pop up at you!

- report fics that break TOS when you see them (I.e., placeholder fics, searches) to help other users navigate better

- the tag “dead dove, do not eat” doesn’t equate to gore/awfulness automatically. it is a complementary tag that enhances current tags. E.g., if the fic is tagged “gore” and “dead dove, do not eat” the author really wants you to mind the gore tag

- most fandoms have a variation of “no beta, we die like (x character)” and they all link back to the “No beta” tag

- publishing a new fic sometimes means it won’t show up in the fandom/pairing tag for a few minutes

- subscribers receive update emails at different times, depending on when you update/publish your fic. there’s no good way to predict when an e-mail will be sent — it can be in 30 seconds, or two hours later

- some fics are restricted by authors to those with ao3 accounts only. if you see a blue lock in the upper right corner, that fic is only visible to logged in ao3 users

- you can block commenters now! this didn’t use to be a thing

- updating a fic just to stay at the top of the pairing tag/fandom tag is a dick move. unless you’re legitimately editing or adding chapters, this just annoys readers and fellow authors, and people will skip over your fic

thinking abt how kaeya says “the sinners are all that’s left and they’re not worth mentioning” in reference to khaenri’ah’. and rhinedottir, who’s linked to the cataclysm and is likely still alive, is known as “the great sinner”. and also the more likely possibility that kaeya doesn’t know about any of that shit and is talking abt HIMSELF in that voiceline. kaeya is still guilty; he sees himself as a sinner and he doesn’t forgive himself. i’ve always read the story of how he got his vision as him lashing out from all of the pain that he’d been carrying his entire life and purposefully ruining the only good thing he had left (his relationship with diluc) as some form of self-sabotage. because, despite everything, diluc is a good person and i think he would’ve genuinely accepted him had kaeya told him under better circumstances but kaeya wanted to die. kaeya’s vision literally saved his life but he only sees it a reminder of how he failed, and how he doesn’t deserve the happiness that having a family gave him. man ;;
