((Sorry I’ve been quiet over here, been working on icons and other things for this blog.))
WHAT MAKES YOUR MUSE LOVABLE ?
[ here ] | repost don’t reblog !
A Fighter Tenacity is your greatest asset. You've never met a person you can't work with, never found a job you couldn't do, and even life's surprises and complications can't stop you for long. You go after what you want, and most of the time, you get it. You protect everyone around you. You're a straight shooter, and you value that quality in others. Your strength of character makes you easy to love, and your dedication and commitment to doing the job and doing it right makes you easy to trust. Your friends and family depend upon you, and you never let them down.

@grimwarricr liked for a starter
She was looking on at nothing less than a massacre. Not since the Æsir/Vanir war had Sigyn seen so many dead people in one place and it took her a moment to pull herself back to reality. Quiet eyes surveyed the scene looking for any obvious signs of life, a couple other healers were already in the midst of it, checking pulses, doubt and fear clouding faces. She spies a familiar form and feels instantly sick, heart sinking into stomach.
“No,” she breathes softly, moving as quickly and as quietly as she could towards the scene. Hogun was awkwardly placed, only standing because a spear taller than either of them had run him through only to wedge between cobblestones. As she reaches him, tender hands reach out to find a pulse or hear breathing. The pulse is faint, his breathing ragged. There was still hope. “Hogun…if you can hear me, don’t try to move to much…” she takes a hand in hers. “If you can hear me, squeeze my hand. I’m going to get you to safety.”
A weak groan left the man, feeling someone touch him. At first he thought one of the invaders had come to finish off what they’d started, but hearing the familiar voice his eyes opened partway. Trying to focus on her and her words, when he felt her hand take his, he did squeeze, albeit rather weakly. If he were being honest, he didn’t think there would be a way for Sigyn to get him out of this, but knowing she was trying, he’d fight to stay alive. Of course, at least if he did die, it would be proper warrior’s death.
“Th-thank you.” That was all he could manage to say, and all he was planning on saying until he was stronger. It was hard to stay still, but he did the best he could given the awkwardness of the position he was left in.
sifshieldmaiden:
Sif understood the value in such a thing. She took care of her own armor and weapons as best she knew how. They were a part of her and were treated as such. Therefore they weren’t often entrusted to anyone else. She offered her friend a smile as she drew closer. “I was wondering if you’d like to spar. The others are going drinking tonight but I wanted to get some training in before then.”
A nod was given in response, giving a once over to the patch job he did before slipping the chest piece back on. Standing up, he stretched a little before giving another nod to say he was ready when she was. He wasn’t one for drinking much, but he did still enjoy spending time with the others. Especially so when they drank a little too much.
asgardianhammer:
[ ϟ ]—– ‘ The point still stands!’ Retort comes with gruff noise of annoyance, and were he more dignified the hint of a pout would have not appeared. Alas, bottom lip juts out involuntarily, soon to be replaced by a stiff pursing of mouth ‘ Sounds aside, I rarely, if ever, cower in the face of danger. Have I not faced massive foes without so much as blinking at the sight?’ Stance and expression are daring, challenging, whilst the mirth in the other is valiantly ignored.
A thoughtful expression crossed his face, purposely taking his time to think about the question posed to him. Of course he knew the answer, but it was entertaining to make his friend think he had doubts about him. Once he thought he kept Thor waiting long enough, he gave a nod. “Yes, you have.” He finally admitted. Of course Hogun had seen it happen enough times before.
livesinnarrative:
“Take the bit, you stupid animal,” Loki said irately, offering it out to his horse on the palm of his hand and trying very, very hard to pretend his old friend’s words had no effect on him. He managed to get the bit into the creature’s mouth and slid the bridle up and over it’s face.
Words stung on his tongue and after a few seconds he couldn’t bear to leave them unspoken any longer, “Nor did I, but you also went behind the back of your Regent. I wasn’t the one who exiled Thor, father was - and I assure you, him getting exiled was never my intention… nor my desire. But, with him on Midgard and father unwell, the line of succession did fall to me. I was your King for all of a day, and your first act was to go against my orders.”
The warrior almost made a comment on the words spoken to the animal, but decided against it. It was only likely to add to the irritation. Hogun hadn’t been looking for a fight after all, and he knew well this may lead to one if he didn’t choose his words or actions wisely.
His expression didn’t change when he heard the rest of what Loki had to say. Well, he’d have to navigate this carefully. “We were rash in our actions, yes. We could not just abandon him there. Had you and Thor been in the other’s situation, do you think he’d have left you?” Bold as his words were, he was hoping they’d help calm the situation some. If it escalated, well, he wouldn’t hold back much. Still, hopefully it didn’t come to that.
Anne of Green Gables {Sentence Starters}
“You’re not eating anything.”
“It’s such an interesting world.”
“Would you rather I didn’t talk?“
“It does make life so interesting.“
“It just makes me feel glad to be alive.”
“Why must people kneel down to pray?“
“Let us look on the bright side of things.”
“I never make the same mistake twice…”
“True friends are always together in spirit.”
“My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes.“
“Life is worth living as long as there’s a laugh in it.“
“I don’t want to cheer up. It’s nicer to be miserable!“
“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think.”
“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.“
“We pay a price for everything we get or take in this world.”
“That’s the worst of growing up, and I’m beginning to realize it.“
“I sometimes think that is why I’m such a troublesome person.“
“But, am I talking too much? People are always telling me I do.“
“It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”
“Oh, it’s delightful to have ambitions. I’m so glad I have such a lot.”
“Isn’t it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about?“
“It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable.“
“It wouldn’t be half so interesting if we know all about everything, would it?”
“I don’t know what lies around the bend, but I’m going to believe that the best does.“
“I don’t believe a rose would be as nice if it was called a thistle or a skunk cabbage.“
“She doesn’t know what to do with the people, so she kills them off to get rid of them.”
“Because when you are imagining, you might as well imagine something worth while.“
“It’s been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.”
“People laugh at me because I use big words. But if you have big ideas, you have to use big words to express them, haven’t you?“
tricksandtreason:
“Norns forbid I simply wish to say hello to my brother’s friend when passing him by.” Perhaps there was too much venom dripping from her voice at the mention of Thor, yet the ever-present choosing of one sibling over another gnawed at the trickster. His latter words disregarded, she continued, “Did Vanaheim no longer suit your fancy, to bring you back to our halls already?”
“Really, that is all you wanted to say? Forgive me if I have trouble believing that.” He caught the venom well, but in his eyes she’d done this to herself. “Perhaps I simply want to visit the place that treated me well like one of it’s own, hm? Though I guess I can’t expect you to understand that.” Ok, that was a low blow but it’d slipped out before he could stop himself.
livesinnarrative:
“And I yours,“ Loki said quietly. He cleared his throat and turned his attention to the horse he was saddling, tightening the mare’s girth. There were few entertainments on New Asgard; riding was one of the few of those that held his interest. Parties and sparing practice and entertaining visiting Humans - his heart weighed too heavily for that. There was a general sensation of detachment, too many fences broken for him to feel secure.
He’d done many things he should not have, but he did not alone bear the fault of all things that had befallen the Asgardian race, contrary to how some acted towards him. “Should you feel inclined to attempt to kill me in the future, I would caution you to remember that I am still your Prince.” He gave one more tug on the girth, and patted the beast on its rump. Crossing around the back of the horse to get the bridle, he avoided meeting Hogun’s eyes. “And seeing you no longer consider us friends, I really see no reason why that would protect your neck.“
A deep inhale, followed by a slow exhale would be heard. Perhaps back when the betrayal were more fresh, Hogun had been prepared to take Loki’s life should the situation arise, but now? Looking back, he knew he’d been lying to himself. While yes, Thor was part of the reason he wouldn’t try to harm the other, with how close they’d been he’d never have been able to go through with it. A hand raised to rub at the bridge of his nose some.
“I never said I wanted you dead.” Hand falling back to his side, he watched the other prepare his horse. “I was prepared to fight you, should it have ever came to that, but I wouldn’t have taken your life.” Was he ready to reconcile? The warrior himself was unsure, but he thought he’d make that much known. Despite it all, not counting Thor, it had been Loki he was the closest to. It was hard to forget that sometimes, even when they had been on opposing sides.
((So one of the things I find funny about Hogun. In the movies, if we’re going with his actor’s height, he’s 5′10. Yet in the comics he’s 6′3. That’s a pretty significant difference to me and it’s very amusing.))
livesinnarrative:
Hundreds of years of friendship shattered because Hogun and the others had failed to recognize his very clear claim to regency? It wasn’t as if he was the one who exiled Thor. Anger simmered, but Loki kept a rein on it. “I did? We remember the events of that day very differently. You always preferred Thor, the lot of you. Why I ever expected your loyalty…” he scoffed, sarcasm and resentment heavy in his tone, “And here I was, ready and prepared to thank you for being one of the few of my old friends to to refrain from threatening to slit my throat. How silly of me!”
And this was why he chose not to speak to the other as often as he once did. “The mind is a complicated place, Loki. You are free to believe what you wish, but I did enjoy your company once upon a time.” While yes, Hogun had been the first one to suspect Loki as the traitor amongst them, he’d still hoped he was wrong. “I saw no reason to do so at the time.” He knew the others would cover that just fine. Though he could tell the other man was angry, the warrior himself was as calm as he could be in this situation. Hopefully it’d help keep things calm.
livesinnarrative:
“Not exactly. I help Thor. If the rest are there, it’s merely by coincidence.” Particularly the beast - had Hogun been the one tossed around like a child’s doll, then he might be more inclined to understand. “You needn’t sound so surprised, Hogun. We were friends once, you and I.“
A single nod was given in response to the first statement. That made more sense to him. An eyebrow raised, hearing Loki continue. “We were, but then you chose to discard that.” After what had happened, it was hard to think of him in a nicer light, even if he had once before.
lxghtnxnggxrl:
Torunn beamed up at him as she approached her uncle, eager to catch up with him, as it has been a while since she had last seen him. “Could you spare a few moments for a conversation? It has been ages since I have last seen you uncle Hogun. I wish to know as to what you have been up to.”
“For you? Any time my niece.” Giving a gesture to follow him, he started to walk. “Here, let us get comfortable before we do.” Leading her back to where some seats were, he sat down, hands resting on his knees. “So, how are you?” He at least wanted to know that before he started talking.
@livesinnarrative
“So, you help Thor and those others protect Midgar now?” It seemed strange, but then again since when was anything Loki ever did considered normal? Personally, he’d believe it when he saw it himself. He still wasn’t sure how he felt about it in any case.
@tricksandtreason
“I do not trust what leaves your mouth.” That was the first thing Hogun spoke, seeing the other approach him. “If you wish to talk to someone, find an ear elsewhere.” Why the trickster thought he was someone he could still approach, he knew not, but he wasn’t simply going to roll over that easily.
