All good things, even the most marvelous, must come to an end. Here I leave some final thoughts about my study abroad experiences, as well as a little taxi advice!
I wish all of us many adventures in our futures, and that we never lose that sense of wonder, curiosity, and willingness to be the outsider.

Home sweet home (even though it still feels really strange)! Here's a quick video discussing my return to the States, as well as my plans for wrapping up this blog!
As of now, there are two things that are difficult for me to believe: 1) I managed to keep a blog up and running for an entire semester. 2) That same semester has slipped through my fingers and is almost gone. This video discusses my disconnect between mentally and emotionally knowing I will be leaving. It is a strange place to be, your brain knowing what you will feel in the future, but your heart living on as if nothing has changed.

With just over a week left in Buenos Aires, I am now forced to consider what I will be bringing back to the states. With gifts, souvenirs, and dulce de leche high on the list, clothes and toiletries may have to be abandoned here! (I will note that not all Argentine men are like this. However, when you meet a sweet-talking chamuyero, you become very familiar with their game!)
A week in Chile has come and gone! I am amazed at the sheer number of people we met from around the world: England, Mexico, Australia, Colombia, New Zealand, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Botswana, Spain, Canada, and more!). Hostels are a great place to meet a variety of travelers, each one with their own stories for going abroad. Going in with an open mind and welcoming attitude will allow you to get so much out in return!
Traveling to a different country while studying abroad can be a great way to gain more perspective on your chosen country of study and your home country. For example, a few people who had traveled to Peru and Bolivia saw Santiago as very commercialized and westernized. With my background of Buenos Aires, I saw the city as more relaxed and welcoming. Furthermore, people from all around the world had heard of the Ferguson case, and were deeply troubled by the verdict and the reaction of the American people. This made me hyper-aware of how the US is seen by other countries, and made me embarrassed that this is what our country is currently known for. I'm not normally one to keep up with news, but this trip made me more aware of its importance in understanding global issues.
That moment when you realize that trip you are going on is today and you still haven't packed.

It's not part of the name for nothing - studying is an integral part of the study abroad experience! With this being the last week of regular classes, it's safe to say my classmates and I are feeling the heat. I am hunkering down for the week to make the most of the academic aspects here.
When selecting a study abroad program, it is important to select one that has the courses that fit your needs. Do you want courses in English or in the country's language? Do the classes fit requirements for your home university? Will the grades transfer, or will you just get transfer credit? Ensuring each of these elements are in order will help you make the most of your study abroad experience.
This Thursday, I will be hitching a bus with one of my girlfriends to Santiago, Chile! As I mention in the video, Argentine pesos will receive a terrible exchange rate outside the country. It is better to bring US dollars, Euros, etc., or to use ATM machines to gather Chilean pesos upon your arrival. Better to spend your Argentine pesos in Argentina!
