VERY old Melony and Gordie draft
Something I wrote years ago during my galar hyperfixation that I couldn't finish. Looking back though it is pretty good
Melony didn’t understand her son. It was frustrating, not just because it made him hard to deal with but because it made her feel like a bad mother.
Melony never understood just how true the phrase “Mother knows best” was until she was put into the position she is now.
Her son was just so talented. She knew this. He deserved every bit of praise and fame he’s received in his short time as a gym leader. Why else would she make a fan club dedicated to him?
So why is he so intent on wasting his time training the pokemon he did? It didn’t take a rock-type specialist to see that Gordie was unique in his fighting style. Rock types were clunky, clumsy, and brutal creatures, but under her son’s training they were so graceful and elegant in battle. That she was endlessly proud of, seeing her son turn those pokemon into something more like the ice types she trained. But that’s exactly where her point of confusion lied.
Why take the time training rock types, just to make them fight so differently from how they naturally are? She figures it’s some act of petty rebellion, just to spite her. For what? She’s still unsure. She just knows he’d be far happier if he’d cut the bs and listen to her.
“When are you going to stop wasting your time, Gordie?”
Gordie just doesn’t understand what he did wrong. If there was something in his past that he did to his mother unknowingly that made her behave the way she did with him. Actually, let’s retract that first statement. Gordie knows exactly what he did wrong, how could he not? Being told what he does wrong is the foundation of nearly every conversation he’s shared with his mom.
She was definitely making fun of him. He knew he could be petty, but he wasn’t ‘start a whole fan club for your child who’s genuine passion you’ve done nothing but ridicule’ petty.
Gordie just couldn’t understand her. Every single word that came out of his mum’s mouth was like a double edged sword. Like she only knew how to be kind if she could also give back just as much indifference. “I love you”s mixed with “that could use some improvement”.
A cold, ice queen of a woman is definitely a way to describe her. It was something he’s heard many people, tabloids, challengers, and family members describe her since he was young.
Aaaaaa i cant finish this mind scrambled
