there was blood, way too much of it spread across your freshly cleaned apartment tile. the place was a mess and panic began to settle into your stomach.
“jaeyun!” you screeched, knowing exactly who the cause of it all was. the only thing that freighted you was not knowing who’s blood littered the floors of your apartment.
the place was silent, eerily silent and you knew that meant trouble. you slowly walked towards your shared bedroom, following one of the trails of blood and hoping it would lead you to your boyfriend. your vampire boyfriend who had never given you a reason to be afraid despite having such a different lifestyle. you knew that he needed blood to survive so he would sip on blood bags stocked in the fridge.
but the smeared blood all over your floors suggested that the source was not from his bags.
“jae…” you mumbled, slowly opening the door of the bedroom. unfortunately, nothing could have prepared you for the sight before your eyes.
your boyfriend sat on his knees, shaggy dark hair in his eyes as he greedily sucked blood from a body. a very still and unmoving human body that was covered in blood.
jaeyun’s fangs showed for half a second as he angled his head a different way, sinking his teeth back down into the neck of the poor person he happened to be feeding on.
you had seen your boyfriend feed before, usually it was only for a minute before he stopped and compelled the person to forget about the whole interaction. but what you had walked in on was animalistic. jaeyun let out deep groans as the blood passed his lips, nearly tearing apart the flesh of the person’s neck as he tried to squeeze out every last drop.
your loud gag snapped jaeyun out of his daze and he lifted his head up. whatever he had been feeling before instantly vanished when he saw the terrified look on your face. jaeyun’s eyes widened in humiliation, the bottom half of his face completely soaked in the blood of his victim.
“what did you do?!” you shrieked, your eyes locked onto jaeyun’s every move as he slowly rose from the floor.
“i’m sorry. i’m so sorry, y/n. please don’t be mad.” he begged, taking long strides towards you. you backed up slightly, suddenly frightened by your boyfriend. he had fed on a man until he died, the sight had been horrifying.
“i just got so hungry and i couldn’t control myself. we ran out of bags and you were gone for so long and i didn’t know what to do.” jaeyun continued to plead with you, his voice cracking as tears began to fill his soft brown eyes.
“please don’t hate me, i love you so much please don’t hate me.” jaeyun fell to his knees again, wrapping his arms around your body as he buried his face into your stomach. you stood rigid in front of him, not knowing how to react.
“jae, you’re scaring me right now.” you gasped out. the sweet face of your boyfriend suddenly looking very sinister with blood covering his mouth and clothes.
“no, no. don’t be scared of me, baby. i’d never hurt you, i’d never do that to you. i swear, i just got carried away and allowed myself to because he’s a stranger. you’re the love of my life and i’d never hurt you, you have to believe me.” jaeyun rambled, standing up from the floor and grabbing your hands in his. he began to place kisses on them despite the blood on his lips and gave you his best puppy dog eyes which were very tearful.
“you need to get rid of the body.” you spoke up, your voice nearly a whisper since you mouth felt extremely dry. your mind was hazy and it felt as if you were dreaming. it had to be a dream…right? but before you could even blink, jaeyun used his speed to carry the body out, and dump it God knows where, before he appeared back in front of you with a washed face.
blood still stained his white button down, a reminder of what he had done only moments ago.
“don’t be mad at me baby, i can’t take it.” jaeyun whined, pulling you close to him before breathing in your scent by your neck. you stiffened out of instinct, assuming that jaeyun wasn’t satisfied and wanted some of your blood too. you nearly forgot that he often did that when he wanted to calm himself down, and he never tasted your blood without asking first. ever.
you shouldn’t have been scared of him, he was a vampire that you decided to date after all. and he didn’t lie when he said that he would never hurt you, it wasn’t like jaeyun at all to harm the people he loved. if you two were the last people on earth and he needed blood too feed on, he would let himself die before even laying a finger on you.
“do you still love me?” jaeyun asked, sniffling slightly as tears fell down his flushed face. you sighed and allowed your body to relax in his hold before grabbing his chin with your hand and making him meet your gaze.
“of course i do. yes, what you did today scared me…a lot. but that doesn’t change my love for you, especially since i knew what i was getting into by dating you as a human…just, never do that again.” you replied, your voice wavering slightly. jaeyun eagerly nodded his head in agreement and you couldn’t help but kiss a tear off his cheek before pulling him into your arms.
jaeyun was your weakness, even if he had just done something awful, it was hard to stay mad at him. he was your true love, it would take a lot more to drag you away from him.
nerd!bf sunghoon who has memorized your schedule and knows your daily routine more than you do. “You have cheer practice today right? Make sure you don’t forget your knee brace this time.” He says it like it’s nothing, but he’s been tracking your calendar all week.
nerd!bf sunghoon who watches whatever shows you’re into—even if he doesn’t get them. He’ll sit beside you on the couch, one arm around your shoulders. He would lower the volume when there are loud scenes, and pauses it if you look away.
nerd!bf sunghoon who doesn’t take many pictures himself, but his phone gallery is full of you. Most of them are ones you didn’t know he took—candid ones of you laughing, frowning at your phone, or you sleeping with his hoodie on. He doesn’t show them off, just scrolls through them when he misses you.
nerd!bf sunghoon who lets you mess with him constantly. Takes your teasing in silence, lets you poke at his serious expressions or mess up his notes to get a reaction out of him. He doesn’t give you the satisfaction of getting a reaction out of him—just gives you the blank stare he does when he’s trying not to smile.
nerd!bf sunghoon who leaves notes on your notebook when your not looking. Nothing over-the-top—just things like “good luck today” or a little drawing of you on the corner of your notebook. He never mentions it unless you bring it up first.
nerd!bf sunghoon who keeps extra hair ties, band-aids, and snacks in his backpack just for you. You never ask him to. He just noticed you always forget or run out of those, and started preparing quickly.
nerd!bf sunghoon who remembers things you say in the passing. You could mention a song that you liked once, and two weeks later he would add it to his playlist. “Didn’t you say you liked this?” He’d ask casually, like it didn’t take effort to remember.
nerd!bf sunghoon who stays on call with you late at night, even if you’re both silent and you’re doing separate things. Sometimes you’ll say, “you can hang up if you’re tired,” and he responds with “I know.” But he never does.
nerd!bf sunghoon who tutors you every week without fail, even if it means reworking his entire schedule. He says “it’s just to help you pass.” But he’ll write your notes, make color-coded flashcards, and looks up different methods of studying just to get the job done.
nerd!bf sunghoon who helps you solve problems instead of just sympathizing. If you say you’re “behind on everything,” and he’s already like, “okay, let’s figure out where to start. What’s due first?”
nerd!bf sunghoon who when you fall asleep during study nights, he’ll fix your posture so you don’t wake up with neck pain. He’d cover you with his hoodie, working with one hand because the other is holding yours under the desk.
“hey baby,” heeseung’s voice startles you, causing you to almost fall out of your study desk. you whip your head towards the balcony, to see your boyfriend hanging upside down by his spiderwebs.
“what are you doing here?” you hiss, striding towards the balcony. you pull his spider mask down, revealing his charming face which always gave you butterflies. “god forbid a man wants to visit his girl,” he grins lazily, winking at you when he knows this is an ungodly hour to visit you.
his cover could be blown. “my parents are literally in the next room, hee. can you please get out—” “just a kiss,” heeseung pleads, tilting his head with that mischievous smile of his, still dangling upside down like it’s the most casual thing in the world, “just a kiss and i’ll go.”
and you eventually give in, rolling your eyes as you cup his face and lean in for a kiss. heeseung smiles into the kiss, his lips soft and tender against yours, moving in sync as your teeth graze against his top lip. his breath hitches, falling to the threshold of the balcony with a thud.
“are you okay? you’re gonna wake up my parents,” you whimper, looking down at him. but heeseung only chuckles, looking up at you, “sorry, babe. i get nervous around you.”
PARK JONGSEONG
you became famous overnight all around your college when your face hit the news headline— “college girl saved from local monsters by the city's superhero, spiderman.”
“so, how was the experience?” you get startled by the sudden voice beside you, almost dropping the books in your hand. shutting your locker close, you meet the eyes of park jongseong aka jay— leaning against his own locker, wearing one of those oversized hoodies with a cocky grin.
“nothing special,” you shrug, leaning against your locker too as you scoff, “not big of a fan.” “really?” jay scoffs, inching closer until he towers above you easily. his dark hair locks fall gently over his forehead, making your mouth gape.
“you say spiderman is not all that,” he angles his head sideways, cupping your face between his hands— leaning in just enough for his hot breath to fan over your face, “then why were you so clingy to him last night? you sure didn't want to let go, doll.”
you could feel blood rush up to your face, making it flush before jay. you chuckle, whispering, “but how did you know that?” just like that, jay realises he messed up, his spider-suit peeking under his hoodie.
SIM JAEYUN
“—and the correct option is c,” jake pushes his thick rimmed glasses up his nose bridge, “did you get it?”
“yeah, i got it,” you sigh, your attention nowhere but your boyfriend, who’s neck is still damp from swinging around the city, saving people.
“does spiderman help other girls with their homework too?” you sigh, cocking your head to one side. “no?” jake is caught off guard, his eyes widened as he pulls you on his lap, “only you, i promise.”
before you can stop yourself, you grab the collar of his hoodie and pull him in. jakes eyes widen behind his glasses, but he soon eases into the kiss, one hand cups your cheeks as he leans into you. your stomach flips as he giggles into the kiss, caressing your cheeks.
you back just a little, your forehead pressed to his. “does he kiss other girls too?”
jake laughs, his glasses fogged, “only if she’s you.”
PARK SUNGHOON
sunghoon quickly pulls you into the janitors closet, banging it shut as he pushes you against the wall. “shut up,” he pleads, all sweaty and out of breathe in his spider-suit, “please just everybody can hear you—”
“i wasn’t even going to say anything,” you lie, gripping onto his biceps as they brace next to your head, bodies too close to each other in the cramped place, “why did you think revealing yourself as spiderman to me was okay?”
sunghoon sighs, he knew that changing into civilian clothes right before college was risky. and of course, out of all people, you happened to see him in the hallways. “just—promise me,” he huffs, leaning in to see your face better in the dark, “you won’t tell anyone, alright?”
“and why do you think i wouldn’t?” you smirk, eyes glinting with mischief as they meet sunghoon’s confused ones.
“seriously?” he hisses, his patience running thin as he grits his teeth, “y/n you better—” “park sunghoon is spi—!”
he doesn’t let you finish the sentence, he leans forward and slams his lips on yours, pulling you into a hurried, angry yet a soft and delicate kiss. he cradles your head with his hand, the other sliding down to your waist. “shut up,” he breathes as he pulls away, chuckling at your flushed face which he loves.
KIM SUNOO
as you’re about to circle around the block towards the alleys to reach your apartment, a fwip sound interrupts you— and suddenly you’re being held up in the air by your waist.
“what the— sunoo?” you almost scream as sunoo only laughs, swinging you onto a building’s rooftop like it’s nothing.
“you almost screamed,” sunoo laughs, pulling up his mask just up to his nose, “you’re so cute.”
“you almost gave me a heart attack,” you complain, smacking his arm playfully as he laughs. “i missed you,” he says, slowly pulling you closer on the rooftop, slow and cool wind caressing you both, “it’s so hard to not see you all the time.”
you giggle in his arms, and sunoo pushes a strand of your hair behind your ears, “can i kiss you?”
“you don’t have to ask,” you finally give him his much needed permission, and sunoo leans in for a kiss amidst the busy night life he secretly watches over.
YANG JUNGWON
you quickly shut the door to your room behind you, facing your boyfriend who’s busy changing into civilian clothes.
“look away!” jungwon blushes as his eyes meet yours. he’s halfway through a plain white shirt, his abdomen exposed.
“what did i tell you about barging into my family gatherings?” you almost shout, slapping jungwon's forearm. “ouch,” jungwon whispers, “but did you see your messages? you told me to save you—”
“not when i said my whole family is here!” you sigh, plopping down flat on your bed and jungwon quickly wears his shirt. before you can say anything, jungwon hovers above you, pressing soft pecks on your lips and neck.
“i need to make sure you're alright,” he smiles in the most gentle way which makes your heart melt, and pull him closer by his collar. “i love you,” he whispers against your lips, kissing it slow.
“i love you more,” you chuckle. “no, i do!” he protests, pulling back to see your face. “no jungwon, you know that i love you more—”
“is somebody there?” a familiar voice floats in from outside your door, probably a relative. “i saw someone in there.” jungwon's face cringes as he looks at your furious one.
NISHIMURA RIKI
riki winces as you press a feathery kiss just above the bruise blooming on his cheek. “does it hurt?” you ask.
“not when you're kissing them,” riki teases, pulling you closer on his lap as he wraps his arms around you, “i want you to kiss all my bruises—”
“i told you not to mess with them,” you complain, an irritated pout forming on your face as you caress riki’s cheek. “you’re spiderman, not a fighter, they are stronger than you.”
“you hurt me more, doll,” riki leans into your touch, smirking as he mumbles, “i still took all of them down though.”
“that's not the point riki,” you sigh, retracting your hand from his cheek, at which he winces again, “i don't want you to get hurt all the time.” riki sighs into your palm, using both of them to cup his own face, “you’re so hot when you’re angry,” he snorts, biting his lip.
“can you please stop—” riki doesn't waste a second listening to your lectures as he pulls you in by your wrist, lips clashing into a heated kiss, which slows down eventually. you pull back first, an unsure and strict expression on your face.
“if it means getting hurt everyday because of you,” riki kisses your wrist, “then so be it.”
evenings with heeseung are slow and warm and today was no different— just him pampering you while you’re going on about your day.
“i mean—” you pop a grape from the bowl in your mouth, formulating your words while drowning in the sweet and tangy flavour. “they made a big deal out of it for no reason,”
and heeseung thinks you look the prettiest right now— hair slightly wet from the shower, your gloss reflecting the light off your lips. your legs are propped up on his own and he’s rubbing soothing circles on your soft skin, the other hand on your waist.
it only amuses him more as you gasp when he instinctively pulls up on his lap, relishing in the faint scent of your shampoo and cologne mingling together. you can barely register his actions before his lips are on your cheek, pressing tender kisses, then on your jaw, neck— he tugs your t-shirt aside— his lips are now on your collarbone.
“you were saying?” his words are hot against your skin, gaze prompting you to speak further although his lips don’t avert their focus from your skin.
he is well aware of the effect he has on you. it’s evident in the way you are fumbling over words and avoiding his eyes. his hand slides under your loose garment— the conversation is long forgotten.
JONGSEONG
he can feel the tension in the kitchen already, all because of your eyes that refuse to leave his sight as he prepares dinner. he left a few buttons of his shirt undone purposely, knowing you wouldn’t be able to take your eyes off.
“do you need any help?” you ask again, despite his constant assurance that he can manage on his own. honestly, jay would rather have you sit and look pretty for him while he pampers you.
“you don’t listen, do you?” he shakes his head, closing the lid of the pan and turning to look at you. handsome does not even begin to cover it— he looks incredible, sleeves rolled up, hair a little disheaveled, the undone buttons offering a very distracting view to his collarbones.
you can barely focus on the dinner he is making, mind too fixated on his pretty hands that work around the kitchen with practiced ease, his perfect jawline, or the confident smirk that he flaunts so effortlessly. his broad shoulders are just cherry on top— you can already feel your mind wandering to places that make your face heat up.
you’re pulled out of your thoughts when he reaches out for something behind you, casually backing you up against the counter. his warm breath tickles against your neck, your fingers gripping the edge of the counter— he doesn’t move.
he simply stares at you with an unreadable gaze that makes you feel exposed, although you can’t help but stare in his eyes. a slight tilt of head and he reaches out for the clasp of your necklace, his fingers brushing against your skin as he fixes it.
actually, he wasn’t even aware of the effect he has on you before he looks at your face— flushed, nervous, your lips parted as if in anticipation. a low chuckle falls off his lips and he dips his head down, brushing his lips against your jaw. “go sit down, doll,”
JAEYUN
you step out of the changing room finally, fixing your dress before looking up at him. “and what about this one?”
and good heavens, jake might just lose it. you look too perfect to be real, the outfit complimenting your features in every way possible. he knows you are waiting for a response but he can’t help— you have turned him into a stuttering mess.
you look at him expectantly, giving him a little twirl, sharing your thoughts although your words fall deaf to his ears. you feel his gaze checking you out, tracing every dip and curve with his eyes.
“what?” your voice has reduced to a quiet whisper, face heating up at the way he is looking at you. you can almost feel the butterflies in your stomach, his silence making your heart race. you catch him staring at you shamelessly— almost as if he is undressing you with his eyes— and he instinctively bites his lips, licking them with an innuendo, an action that leaves you in a daze.
your boyfriend approaches you finally and it does nothing to help you compose yourself. his fingers leave feather light touches on your arm, a smirk adorning his lips at the sight of you looking so shy, and he tugs you closer with a smile. “can’t wait to show you off at the party in this, sweetheart,”
SUNGHOON
it does not escape sunghoon’s eyes when you plop down on the couch, a soft sigh dancing off your lips. his gaze follows your actions carefully, the way you push loose strands of hair off your face, eyes closed, relishing in the warmth of home after a long day at work.
“tired?” his voice is barely above a whisper, followed by his footsteps to the couch. you only respond with a slight nod before reaching down to your heels. he can’t help but frown at the way you wince at your sore feet because of the heels. “let me,”
he crouches down at your feet, gently taking them in his hands and takes off the footwear. his actions come from a place of care, fingers massaging your heels tenderly to ease any pain. his caresses are gentle yet oddly intimate, your breath hitching when his hand trace a little up to your calf.
sunghoon knows exactly how to help you relax. his eyes never leave yours as he continues his actions before letting up, reaching out to grab your hand. a soft kiss follows, against your fingers, then palm, wrist— you gasp, already leaning into him— and the next second, you’re off the couch in his arms, your own wrapped around his neck.
his steps are quick to move towards the bedroom, a chuckle falling off his lips at the way you are hiding your face. you are too cute. he holds you securely and with ease, enjoying your flustered expression and nervous gaze. “let me take care of you, darling,”
SUNOO
you should have known it was a bad idea to come to the gym with him and it’s not even about working out. it’s him and the way pulls up his hoodie is one go, teasing a quick glance at his toned torso before it is covered with the tank top underneath.
you’re sitting on the small bench behind him while he is lifting weights, his muscles flexing every time he lifts up. it’s heavensent, truly a sight to see— his hair a tosled and pushed back, face glowing with the sweat. his breaths are coming out in a huff, eyes focused on the weight in his hand before they find yours through the reflecting in the mirror in front of him.
“like what you see?” and the breathy voice, gosh, laced with a silver of raspiness and tease, you might just lose it.
it isn’t long before he puts the dumbbell down and starts walking over to you while you blink yourself out of your train of thoughts. he is standing in front of you with his hands on his knees, bending down and breathing a little heavily. that is already hot and the tank top, good lord, it leaves very little to imagination with the way it hangs over his exposed shoulders.
he stares in your eyes, then lips, then back in your eyes, his own crinkling up in amusement as he closes your mouth that was agape. “you’re really easy to fluster, aren’t you?”
JUNGWON
“wonie, are you—” a pause, your heart skips a beat, breath getting caught up in your throat, mouth going dry.
jungwon is far from being aware about what he is doing to you. he simply flaunts one of his swooning smiles at you through the mirror before turning around, putting on his black rimmed glasses. “glasses or no glasses?”
glasses are the last thing on your mind— you could answer his question if you were able to look away from his waist that is perfectly accentuated in a blue polo shirt and trousers, a belt completing the look.
it should be unacceptable to look this good. he waits for your response while grabbing his cologne from the vanity, wearing it over his neck, giving a last touch to his hair that is slicked back neatly.
he turns towards you again, raising an eyebrow at your expression. he can practically see your mind wandering to places, your nervous eyes looking anywhere but at him as he approaches you with a teasing grin.
“cat got your tongue, hm?” his hands settle on the curve of your waist and words hushed against your lips. you can see his muscles flexing from under his shirt, a quick peck leaving you breathless. “let’s get going, love,”
NI-KI
your senses are already alerted because of how close he is standing to you. honestly, you’re not sure you’ll ever be able to make your muffins with the way your brain refuses to focus on anything that is not him.
“should we add more coco powder?” he asks aimlessly and leans in towards you to take a look at the recipe on your phone screen before you could even respose.
he has a naturally deep voice and it somehow gets deeper when he is focused, as in now, his breath fanning against your cheek as he puts a hand on the counter and bends down to your level, eyes squinting at the phone screen.
and it’s infuriating how tall he is— the way you have to look at the way up to see his face and tip-toe to kiss his lips. it doesn’t help that he has a habit of leaning his head down when you are talking.
“hey, i asked you something,” he pokes your cheek gently to draw a response, brows quirking up at your lost expression. he chuckles under his breath, stepping even closer if it was even possible. your gaze involuntarily travels down to his lips and he is quick to tuck a finger under your chin, tilting it up. “eyes up here, gorgeous,”

heeseung leans back against the couch, one arm draped lazily over the backrest, the other tracing slow circles on your palm of your hand as you ramble about your day, eyes sparkling with every little detail. he’s not even listening—not really. he hums here and there, nodding like he’s keeping up, but the truth is, he’s too busy watching you, completely entranced. the way your lips move, the way your nose scrunches when you get excited, the way you gesture with your hands—it’s all too cute. “you’re so pretty when you talk, you know that?” he murmurs suddenly, smirking as you pause mid-sentence, caught off guard. his fingers squeeze your hip, pulling you closer. “keep going, baby, don’t mind me. just enjoying the view.” his gaze flickers to your lips, and his grin deepens when you roll your eyes. god, you’re adorable. he might just be obsessed.
PARK JAY ( fixing your outfit )
jay leans against the doorframe, arms crossed, a lazy smile playing on his lips as he watches you fuss over your outfit, fixing your collar, smoothing out your pants. you look perfect—always do—but the way you're so focused, brows slightly furrowed, makes his heart ache in the sweetest way. “baby, you could wear a paper bag and still be the prettiest thing i’ve ever seen,” he murmurs, pushing off the frame to step closer. his hands find your waist as he twirls you effortlessly, eyes drinking in every inch of you like you’re a masterpiece. “mm, perfect,” he hums, fingers brushing under your chin to tilt your face up to him. “not that you needed fixing.” his thumb traces your cheek. “my princess,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to your forehead before spinning you once more, just to see you smile.
SIM JAKE ( when you're doing makeup )
jake leans against the vanity, arms crossed, eyes locked on you like you’re the most mesmerizing thing he’s ever seen. “you know, baby, you don’t even need all that,” he murmurs, a lazy grin stretching across his lips as he watches you blend out your concealer.. “but if it makes my girl happy, who am i to complain?” his voice is teasing, and when you shoot him a playful glare through the mirror, he chuckles, reaching up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind your ear. “so pretty,” he grins. “it’s actually unfair how bad you make me wanna kiss you right now.” his fingers tilt your chin, eyes flickering between your lips and your gaze. “you gonna let me, sweetheart? or do i have to sit here and suffer?”
PARK SUNGHOON ( when you tie his tie )
sunghoon stands still, letting you smooth out his collar, fingers deftly working the silk tie into a perfect knot. he doesn’t say a word—just watches. watches the way your brows furrow slightly in concentration, the way your lips part ever so slightly, the way you’re so effortlessly close. his hands find your waist, resting there as if it belongs there (it kind of does). but really, he’s just so weak for you. “you’re staring,” you murmur, not looking up, but you feel it—feel the weight of his gaze. he doesn’t deny it. doesn’t even blink. and when you finish, giving his tie a light tug to pull him closer, something in him snaps. “forget it,” he exhales before pressing his lips to yours, one hand cupping your cheek, the other holding your waist like he’ll never let go.
KIM SUNOO ( when you're smiling )

Ni-ki has been smiling at the fluffy duck plushie for over twenty minutes now. His members, watching from a safe distance, were seriously contemplating whether an intervention was necessary (Jake already has the number of a psych ward dialed onto his phone).
“What is he doing?” Jungwon whispered to Sunoo, both of them huddled on one side of the couch, unsure of what to make of their younger friend.
Sunoo narrowed his eyes. “I have no idea, but he looks ridiculous.”
A quiet giggle escaped Ni-ki, his arms tightening around the plushie as he nuzzled his chin into its soft, yellow head. He sighed dreamily, eyes twinkling as if he had just discovered the meaning of life.
Jungwon and Sunoo exchanged glances. This was getting out of hand.
“Should we snap him out of it?” Jungwon asked hesitantly.
Sunoo shrugged. “I mean… do you want to risk getting drop-kicked?”
Before they could decide, Ni-ki turned to them, eyes glowing with an almost unsettling level of affection. “Guys,” he whispered, voice filled with unshakable devotion. “Look at him. He’s perfect.”
Sunoo blinked. “Ni-ki, it’s literally just a stuffed duck.”
Ni-ki gasped like Sunoo had just personally insulted his entire bloodline. Hugging the plushie even tighter, he scoffed, “How dare you.”
Jungwon exhaled sharply, rubbing his temples. “Yeah. He’s gone.”
“I don’t get it,” Jake said from his spot on the floor, brows furrowed in genuine confusion. “Is this… some kind of puberty thing?”
Sunoo snorted. “Yeah, Jake. Ni-ki hit phase two of puberty, and now he’s hopelessly in love with a stuffed duck.”
Jake hummed, considering it. “I mean… it’s possible.”
Jungwon shot him a deadpan look. “No. No, it’s not.”
Meanwhile, Ni-ki was completely oblivious to the conversation happening about him. He simply cradled the duck plushie closer, gently stroking its tiny wings with the kind of tenderness usually reserved for priceless artifacts.
A dreamy sigh escaped his lips. “Don’t listen to them,” he murmured to the plushie. “They just don’t understand our bond.”
Sunoo stared. “Okay, yeah, we’re calling that psych ward.”
“Where’d you even get that thing from?” Jungwon asked.
“Well, first of all, he has a name,” Ni-ki said, clutching the plushie tighter.
Jungwon blinked. “Right. Of course he does.”
Jake leaned forward, intrigued. “Okay… what is it?”
Ni-ki looked down at the plushie with pure affection before answering, completely serious, “Sir Quacksalot.”
Sunoo choked on air. “You’re joking.”
Ni-ki gasped, horrified. “How dare you disrespect Sir Quacksalot like that?”
Jungwon decided to tread carefully. “Okay… and where did Sir Quacksalot come from?”
At that, Ni-ki’s face turned a shade pinker, his grip on the plushie tightening ever so slightly. “Nowhere.”
Sunoo narrowed his eyes. “Ni-ki.”
Jake gasped dramatically. “Wait. Someone gave it to you, didn’t they?”
Ni-ki scoffed, looking everywhere but at his members. “No.”
Jungwon crossed his arms. “Ni-ki.”
“…Maybe.”
Sunoo’s jaw dropped. “Who?”
Ni-ki hesitated, then muttered something under his breath.
Jake leaned in. “What was that?”
Ni-ki groaned, hiding his face behind Sir Quacksalot. “Y/n, okay? She won it for me at that arcade the other day.”
The room fell silent for exactly two seconds before—
“Oh my god.” Sunoo gasped.
Jake shot up to his feet. “YOU’RE SMITTEN.”
“I am not—”
Jungwon pointed at him. “That is exactly what someone who is smitten would say.”
Meanwhile, Sunoo was already dialing Jay’s number on his phone, a smug grin spreading across his face. “You owe me 10 bucks, pay up now.”
Jake let out a low whistle. “I’m honestly impressed. I didn’t think the duck plushie was part of the plan.”
Ni-ki, now fully flushed, groaned and buried his face in the plushie again. “You guys are ridiculous.”
Sunoo grinned as Jay’s phone picked up. “Hey, Jay. You’re welcome.” He paused, listening to the muffled voice on the other end. “Yeah, I said pay up—you owe me.”
Jungwon raised an eyebrow. “How much are we betting on the next step in this disaster?”
Sunoo flashed a wicked grin. “We’ll see how long it takes for him to start writing poems for her.”
Just then, Ni-ki’s phone went off, the screen lighting up with a contact name that made him freeze: Pretty Girl <3
Ni-ki’s hand shot out to grab his phone, but Jungwon was quicker, leaping theatrically to snatch it from his grasp. He swiped up to accept the call before Ni-ki could protest.
“Jungwon, no!” Ni-ki hissed, his face going pale. “Give it back!”
But Jungwon was already holding the phone up to his ear with a dramatic flair. “Hello, is this Pretty Girl?” he said, his voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Ni-ki’s very good friend—he’s, uh, just a little shy right now.”
Sunoo cackled from the sidelines, unable to hold back. “Oh my god, this is gold.”
Jake, unable to contain his amusement, added, “Tell her Ni-ki’s too busy with Sir Quacksalot to talk right now.”
Ni-ki’s eyes widened in horror, but Jungwon ignored him, continuing the act. “So, Pretty Girl, how’s it going? Got any plans for today? I’m sure Ni-ki is totally free right now to spend some quality time .“
“Jungwon!” Ni-ki yelped, diving for the phone, but Jungwon struck his leg out to block the boy. Laughter echoed through the room as Jake and Sunoo rolled around the floor, struggling to catch their breaths. By now Jay, Sunghoon and Heeseung had already emerged in the dorm room after Sunoo broke the news.There was a short pause on the other end before Y/N’s voice came through, light and teasing. “Oh? Is he now? Well, could you let him know I was thinking of him and that I’d love to see him later tonight?”
Jungwon’s grin stretched wider as he glanced at Ni-ki, who was practically melting in embarrassment. “Oh, I’ll definitely pass that along,” he said with an exaggerated wink. “I’m sure he’ll be thrilled to hear from you.”
Ni-ki grabbed the phone out of Jungwon’s hand in a panic. “Y/N, hey! I—uh, I’m sorry about that—”
The rest of the members were in hysterics by now, clearly loving every minute of this.
“Don’t listen to him,” Ni-ki mumbled into the phone, his voice barely above a whisper, but the smile in his voice was clear. “I’m really looking forward to seeing you later.”
Sunoo, still wheezing from laughter, muttered, “Yeah, right, Ni-ki. You’re totally not whipped.”
The boy just glared at the others, muttering a stream of curses under his breath as he trudged out of the apartment. But before he fully left, he grabbed the fluffy duck plushie from the couch and clutched it tightly against his chest, as if it could somehow protect him from the relentless teasing. His face was a deep shade of red, but no one could miss the way his hands were fidgeting, already mentally preparing for the meeting with Y/N.
As he passed by the living room, Sunoo couldn’t help but call out, “Good luck, Ni-ki! Don’t forget to wear your lucky strawberry panties!”

“it's 7 am,” his heart skips a beat when you finally open your eyes, a little grumpy, but looking pretty as always.
he knows you're not a morning person, he can see remnants of sleep in your eyes. he lets out a soft laugh at the way your hair is sticking up in almost all directions, the annoyed pout of your face making you look cuter than you already are.
“it's valentine's,” he says, words accompanied with a chuckle as he reaches out to fix your hair before holding the bouquet in front of you. “happy valentine's day, angel,”
he watches in contentment as your expression changes to surprise, then morphing to one of pure bliss and admiration.
his eyes hold onto your sight eagerly, trying to gauge your reaction as you look at the pink and white balloons on the floor, tied up with matching ribbons. there are a few gift boxes on the bed and you can definitely smell a delicious breakfast in the air. “did you really get up early for this?”
“this is not even all of it,” and it's true.
heeseung would never tell you how he barely got any sleep last night, too worried and anxious over planning for valentine's. despite his confidence, he could feel his palms sweating. all that practice in his room in front of the mirror couldn't keep him away from the nervousness— it's your first valentine's with him, afterall, and he wants it to be perfect.
gradually he settles next to you in bed, the soft glow of sunlight giving you an angelic touch. you can't take your eyes off the decoration in the room, and he can't take his eyes off you. “i've made plans for the whole day. you're all mine today,”
you can't help but laugh at his words, snuggling closer to him. a sigh escapes your lips as you relax against the sound of his heartbeat, your own finding solace in the gentle kiss he presses on top of your head.
“i'm all yours everyday,” you look up, losing yourself in his lovesick eyes— not that it's any different from yours. propping yourself up on your elbow, you lean in, capturing his lips in a gentle kiss. “happy valentine's day to you too, my love.”

it has only been a few months since you met jay and he has already managed to sweep you off your feet. you two aren't official, but the chemistry is brewing, and it's in everything around— the carefully curated flower bouquet that he picked for you, the half eaten cake you put in the fridge just a minute ago, the fragrance of your favourite food that he's cooking, and the way he's holding your hand.
“it's too much,” you mumble, fiddling with his fingers, the thought of pressing a kiss only crossing your mind before you shake it off. “i might assume you're in love with me,”
he wouldn't be opposed to that.
in fact, it sounds nice, dreamy, even. to call you his— he still wants to, except things aren't official and he doesn't want to force you into anything you're not ready for. he would've waited but god, the way you look at him makes it impossible for him to not be in love with you.
“what makes you think i'm not?” he flashes you a slight grin, enjoying the look of pure surprise in your eyes.
“huh?”
and he sighs, not even wasting a second to hold your face from across the counter, capturing your lips in a deep and slow kiss, gently tilting your head to the side for a better access.
“i love you,” he whispers amidst the kiss, his tongue brushing against your lower lip slightly. “and i've been in love with you—” a pause, he pulls back to, looking at you briefly before going back in. “— since the very first time i saw you.”

“i thought you forgot,” you frown, and his heart almost drops at the disappointment in your tone that he almost dropped the bouquet to the pavement.
“there's no way that could happen,” he pulls you into a warm hug, one hand rubbing your back while the other held onto the bouquet that he hopes you won't reject.
he knew he wouldn't be able to keep the surprise to himself, so there was only one way— pretend to forget about it. he could see the anticipation on your face the entire day, his heart breaking a little more every time he had to act like it's not a special day today.
it was hard to hold back when all he wanted to do was shower you with affection and recite how much he loves you.
“i was about to argue with you over call,” you pull back, arms still around his torso.
“then i'm just on time, aren't i?” and he chuckles at the pout on your face, more so at the way you squint your eyes when he pokes your cheek gently. “sorry, darling, i just wanted this surprise to be perfect,”
“don't pull this again,”
“never again. i'd even beg you for an apology,” jake swears, fingers crossed, sealing his promise with a soft peck on your lips. “on my knees and all,”
you let out a quiet laugh, leaning in for another peck, or rather a kiss, making it last longer. “so dramatic,”
“you love me,” and looking back at the roses in his hands along with the gifts on the backseat of his car— how could you not?

despite his cocky demeanor, sunghoon's hands were getting sweaty as you leaned against the kitchen counter with a little gift box in your hand, untying the ribbon ever so carefully.
he knew you'd like the gift, of course you would, but a silver of doubt still haunting his thoughts. although, it goes away just as quickly when your lips curl into a smile at the sight of the necklace.
“do you like it?”
“it's so pretty,” your words come out as a soft whisper, eyes too busy admiring the dainty rose gold necklace adorned with a small heart shaped pendant.
“it reminded me of you so i had to get it,” his lips mirror your smile, heart fluttering at the sight of you looking so happy. “here, let me help you,”
he takes the necklace out of the box, gently pushing your hair to one side. he almost chuckles at the way you shiver as his fingers brush against your nape.
it takes him all his willpower to not press a kiss against your skin, you make him want to lose his control. he class the hook, fixing your hair again before putting his hands on your shoulder to turn you around.
your eyes sparkle as you stare down at the pendant, fiddling with it before chiming at him with an expectant voice. “how do i look?”
“beautiful,” he whispers softly, sunghoon swears he's falling for you all over again. the way you look at him with the sweetest smile and starry eyes, he feels like the luckiest man in the entire world. “just like you always do,”
you're too busy admiring his gift, a quiet thank you falling off your lips before you look up at him, tip toeing to press your lips against his in a soft peck. “i love it,”
the kiss almost leaves him dazed, he can already see you teasing him about it. but how could he not be surprised— it's you, your lips on his, your touch— it drives him crazy.
“that was a shitty thank you,” he scoffs, trying to hide the effect just a peck from you has on him, squinting his eyes at you. “could have been better,”
“well, what do you want me to do about it?”
and he doesn't wait to give an answer, immediately capturing your lips with his. he's kissing you slow & sweet, deep, and it barely takes you a second to melt into his arms, especially when he gently tugs at your waist, your body flushed against his.

and then it's quiet. the hallways feel quieter now except the sound of his words ringing in your ears. if you didn't know any better, you'd think he's joking, but his voice is purposeful and his eyes— they refuse to leave yours.

he drops the empty box of flavoured milk in the nearby bin, taking a small step towards you that leaves your heart as a racing mess. “i said, be my valentine for real,”
“i thought you wanted to date yunseo,” and it's true. the entire of the grand scheme of things was for sunoo to get back with his ex— nevermind the centuries old trick— and you were merely a supporting character in the play.
“i want you,” he insists with desperation, affection dripping off every word that leaves his mouth. “i have wanted you for so long, it's making me lose my mind,”
you barely let him finish, yanking him towards yourself with his collar into a searing kiss. his hands find your waist, making it harder for you to think straight before you finally catch a hold of yourself.

"what? you want another one?" he teases, grinning from ear to ear while pulling you closer to his chest. "maybe..." you mumble, hiding your face in the palms of your hands. "huh? can you repeat what you said one more time for me? pretty please?" he's running his hands through your hair, his gaze full of love and adoration. "shut up ki..." you say as you hide your face in his chest, flustered from all of his teasing and physical touch. he laughs to himself and plants two kisses your forehead before resting his chin on the top of your head, once again. "you know you can tell me if you're really uncomfortable, baby. i just think you're so cute when you're flustered" he tells you, voice as sweet as honey. "'m not uncomfortable, just not used to all the hugs and kisses yet" you say in almost a whisper, still hiding your face in the warmth of his chest.
"gonna have to give you some more hugs and kisses then, huh?"

you don’t know why you were doing this. even as you applied the black, green and blue makeup, you couldn’t think of a valid reason. yet, here you were, sat on your couch scrolling through your phone, just awaiting the opportunity to prank your sweet, unsuspecting boyfriend.
maybe he’d gotten too comfortable in your relationship. hell, you used whatever excuse to try and justify it. but, the truth is, you wanted to see if he had it in him to get mad at you. he was so damn peaceful all the time — you loved that about him, really — nonetheless, deep down, your heart raced with the thought; the anticipation when he’d finally catch a glimpse of your artwork that he’d deem someone else’s.
this was fun.
you knew it’d work. you’ve never let leehan purposefully leave marks on your skin, not because it didn’t feel good to have him kiss you, but simply because you’ve always found them tacky and a hassle to cover up. you’d wasted so much makeup in the past trying to do so, so whenever he’d come close to leaving purple patches, you’d tell him to stop. he’d even bargained with leaving them in places only he could see, but you still refused. especially if you couldn’t return the favor.
you knew this was an evil way to push his buttons, that you oh-so-desperately wanted to see pushed. it was selfish, really, however at this moment in time the plan was already set into action. you wanted to start a fight, just to see if he could.
he’s never gotten mad at you. he’s never yelled at you. he’s never dared put a hand on you. and that was a dream, but somewhere deep down, you knew it was also just as boring as it was desirable. you wanted him to yell at you — at least once — manhandle you — consensually, of course — you wanted so much, and maybe this wasn’t the right way to bring it up, but it didn’t matter anymore as his voice broke through the silenced air.
“what’s that?”
“what’s what?” you asked, acting obliviously as you scrolled through twitter and instagram in turns.
he shrugged, and you don’t know if it was the fact that he seemingly didn’t care, or if it was that maybe he just brushed it under the rug as anything else, that began to piss you off.
nonetheless, you decided you were in it for the long run. after all, you wanted to see if he’d start the fight.
and throughout the rest of the afternoon you’d catch leehan staring in your direction, shifting his gaze when you’d make eye-contact. he kept a calm demeanor, never asking again what the purple marks on your neck were. he’d even hugged you before he left for practice, getting all up close and personal with the artwork.
you were finding it hard to believe he hadn’t noticed.
maybe he was gathering his thoughts. maybe he was trying to decided why you didn’t smell like another man — why he knew you wouldn’t do that to him. maybe as much as his buttons were pushed, this was it for his stemmed anger. maybe dance practice was his way to relieve the stress you caused from time-to-time. maybe the cool, calm and collected leehan was the only version of your otherwise, smiley, boyfriend.
maybe you were beginning to feel bad because you had no idea the feelings he had towards this prank. did it upset him? you wouldn’t be none-the-wiser to it if it had. he was good at shielding emotions, and maybe that’s where you needed to draw the line. maybe that’s where your conversation should’ve began, instead of whatever the hell tiktok had inspired you to do.
you kept looking at the clock on your home screen, counting down the minutes until he’d come back to you. and just as you had decided to end the prank, opting for a civil — adult-ish — conversation, a text illuminated your dark screen.
it read: we need to talk.
yet you couldn’t decipher the hidden meaning. of course you knew what it was about, that’s the only thing that’s been wrong throughout the last few months between you two. what else could it be? and why, now that you were finally getting what you wanted, didn’t it feel good?
you didn’t answer him, partially because you didn’t know what to say; it was a prank. i just wanted to see if you’d get mad at me. i’m so bored of this. nothing seemed correct, or frankly, truthful.
you also knew that he wasn’t far. he wouldn’t have texted you otherwise, just to torcher you — though it would’ve been deserved. so, you waited by the door for your boyfriend to get back, the thought of washing away the eyeshadow long gone.
then, it finally opened with the pattern of your key code. the air became thick and you found it hard to swallow with a lump in your throat. were you sorry? yes. did you feel bad for being immature? yes. was a tiny part of you still curious to see how this would play out?

"y/n," was the first, and only, thing he muttered for a couple of excruciatingly long minutes. you watched as he put his bag down, eyed him as he took his shoes off, and almost burst when he ran a hand through his hair. maybe leehan was able to torcher you, even if unintended.
his eyes finally met yours, but then they drifted to your neck, and further to your collar bone. he knew. he's known since the first question left his lips hours and hours ago.
"what's that?" his arms snaked between each other, and you found it wrong to think it was hot, but you very much did.
almost like deja vu, the same feeling crept up from down within you. "what's what?" you reenacted. although this time, he didn't let it go. he approached you quickly, too fast to get away before you were sandwiched between the plaster and his body.
his hands were slow with movements. those oh-so-stupid-fucking-hands that had you, literally, at his fingertips. one forcing your head by your jaw to expose your neck, while the other brushed away the hair that disguised the marks from his view.
you fronted being indifferent, but truth be told, if he wasn't holding you up your knees would have buckled already, leaving you as a mess on the floor in front of him.
"you must think i don't know you," he voiced, holding eye-contact as he pushed his thumb between your lips, gathering just enough saliva to then press the digit to your neck and swipe. and it smudged with enough force, despite being labeled as waterproof. "tell me why you felt the need to paint these on. i couldn't think of one good reason all day, princess."
and the nickname he always called you — innocently and less than — had your heart in absolute shambles; the anticipation was just as good as if he'd raised his voice you thought. maybe your vanilla-scented boyfriend had finally gotten the hint that you wanted more, despite going about it in a less than thoughtful way. and maybe you realized that you didn't hate that he was always nice, no you loved that about him, but sometimes it was okay if he wanted to be a little bit meaner with you. after all, he could always say my ... anything he wanted, and that would still mean that he saw you as his forever only.
"i-i," you couldn't think straight when he attached his lips over the previously (fakely) marked spots. his breath was hot, lips gentle then firm as he sucked against the spots he knew you'd rarely let him have his way with. "i — uh, fuck. leehan,"
his voice was low against the shell of your ear, sending a shiver down your spine and a whimper up your throat, "if you wanted something, you could've just asked me, baby. i'd give you anything."
the eyes that you've grown comfortable with always seemed to be there despite the firm placement he had you in. you knew he loved you more than anything, so you knew his words were true. and his demeanor broke when he kissed your lips, almost giving you whiplash.
his palms laid flat against your cheeks, thumbs rubbing sweetly, "if you wanted everyone to know that you're mine, let me do it myself."
