Breathed laughter, more amused sound than chuckle, meets Rook's reassurance. It lingers in a soft smile, one that is for them alone; so much is for them alone. The entirety of him, perhaps. ā My affection and my heart are all yours.Ā ā
Gentle as the bliss of the moment is, it almost overwhelms, as if his body could not contain a feeling as monumental as the love he felt. Every warning and lesson cautioning against it could not make Lucanis give this up; it is worth the risk, worth any risk, to have them in his arms like this, as entwined as they could be, unwilling to part.
He had often wondered about it, love ā and thought it beyond reach, a thing for the fiction he enjoyed reading with little place in his reality. The assassin knows it is extraordinary luck, to be proven so wrong. Would that he had not been so resistant ( so afraid ) that they may have enjoyed this sooner.
The rumble of contentment in the back of his mind ( Spite ) is both pleased with himself for the acknowledgment he had been right, they ought to have acted sooner, and content to enjoy what he feels through Lucanis. It is difficult to tell where one ends and the other begins, especially in moments like this ā heart as one. It cannot disturbĀ the peace the assassin feels.
This, more proper laughter, that follows Rook's words, shakes them gently. The sentiment is shared; there is precious little that would make him move from where he is, now. āĀ No plans that cannot be canceled,Ā ā is the truthful answer ā between the two of them, hardly a day went by with nothing to do. But some demands were more urgent than others and, for once, he knows they can get away without concern.
His thumb caresses the back of Rook's hand, interwoven with his. The other hand comes to play with silver locks, every motion filled with tenderness. āĀ I had no diligent plans for a romantic outing,Ā ā he confesses, thinking that maybe he should have. An idea for the future; there's no remedying it immediately. Well, not exactly, but... āĀ Though I am certain an improvised romantic outing could be arranged.Ā ā
āĀ There is a beautiful beach not far from the city ā less than an hour's ride. I could prepare everything for an outing there, maybe in time to enjoy lunch outdoors. After I bring you breakfast in bed.Ā ā Lucanis could ask the servants to do it, but it is not the same; doing it himself, for them, will always be more satisfying.
āĀ Or we could stay here all day,Ā ā Such indulgence from the First Talon; yet even as the diligence trained in him strains against the thought, he knows full well he is not the first or last Talon to give in to indulgence now and then. His turn to take their entwined hands to his lips, a kiss pressed to each of Rook's knuckles. It is in their hands; he is always content to follow. āĀ In bed, or enjoying the villa's hot springs, or anything else you want.Ā Either way, you will have me until you tire of my company.Ā ā
