Sorry I just need to be annoying since I'm curious- do you think you'll ever do another chapter for your Emmet x Reader book "Off Your Trolley" I'm obviously not asking for an update right now- because I could honestly wait another few years, that's how much I love your writing and know you should never rush anything otherwise it's just not fun.

yooo thanks for the ask anon, and no need to apologize, it’s not annoying at all! i’m super appreciative of any asks about my writing and i appreciate your words here too 🫶 thanks so much for your compliments on how i write emmet, i’m super super touched 🥹🧡 honestly OYT is a very old work (i published it about two years after i initially wrote it without editing it much at all) and i’ve been meaning to revamp the whole thing for a while lol 😅😅

i really wish i could give you a clear idea of when i’ll pick it up again, but since fic writing is a hobby more than anything, i try not to force myself to work on something if i don’t have time atm. as you’ve said, i’m definitely not someone who rushes stuff, so thanks so much for your support regardless.

i always make a post on my tumblr if i’ve updated something—& i’ll be sure to do so for OYT when i’ve got the creative energy for it again.

‘Scenic Our House’ has officially come to and end, and I’ve been dinking around with digitizing the doodles I made while reading it, because I only now realize I made a LOT. This is one of those comics I made while reading chapter 6. Artistic liberties were made, but the original Fic is by @grubbin22 on AO3, and you should definitely check it out!!! It’s so good, I’m so happy with the ending but so sad it’s over 😭😭

In honor of Scenic Our House coming to an end, have some more art! The first is some concept art for what a human snowy might look like, and the next is a scene from one of the earlier chapters that really stuck with me. I have a few other drawings I’m still working on, but couldn’t resist sending you these in the meantime. Something about these dumb skeletons makes me want to draw.

This fic was truly an inspiration. Ntgl, I definitely teared up a few times while reading the final chapter. I am going to miss Snowy so, so much, but I really enjoyed the open ending. Thank you for the wonderful world you’ve created, and I can’t WAIT to see what you come up with next! You have not seen the last of me, that’s for sure.

ok i’m going to yap. firstly, your human snowy design looks SO COOL!!!! i adore how you’ve visualized their personality. the streak of white hair, the black-tipped hands and the hooked nose are all great touches—you have a wonderful attention to detail. and all the interactions with the other characters the you’ve drawn are absolutely fantastic, haha. i can’t pick a favorite! also, that spooky snowy drawing is PERFECT, it definitely matches Snowy’s eldritch horror vibes in some parts of the story 👻 and to touch briefly on your art style: your pen work feels smooth, precise, and satisfying. This page has an excellent composition & balance as well. to summarize…i love love love it! 🥹

then second drawing: oh jeeze oh holy moly. i have so much to say. that brilliant blue gradient, the eerie way the blizzard cuts through snowy’s form, it’s all just INCREDIBLE. you’ve captured that scene exactly the way i’d imagined it!! the glance at the hands, the palpable feeling of unease in the way you’ve laid out the paneling…snowy’s figure looks perfectly lost and lonely, too, reflecting how aimless they felt in their old world. i love the way they’re holding onto themself like they’re desperate to hold onto anything in the empty storm around them. idk how to properly express how i feel right now except for a ridiculous emoji spam lol. 😭💥🤯❤️🥹💕😭😭🤯🤯🥹😭‼️‼️

but yeah basically music in general. i love music across all genres and i’m real passionate about it. usually when i’m drawing i’ll put on a playlist to match the 🌌Vibes🌌

27. how would you describe your process while drawing?

ok i’ll lock in to answer this one 🫡 my drawing process consists of about three stages—a gestural sketch, a cleaned-up sketch, and then coloring. i’d say that the drawing develops the most during that last stage, and ultimately the finished product will have a mix of line-less and lined art. i also posted a speed-paint & explanation answering an ask on my drawing process here, if you’d like more detail. 🙂‍↕️

hello daisypetal, thank you so much for the compliment 🧡🥹 and you have enabled me, fashion is one of the things that i’m very passionate about!! i got a bit carried away and doodled a few of my outfits this week, including what i wore today 😆✌️

44. what’s last outfit you wore? how do you typically dress?

i’m a big believer in wearing what makes me feel most comfortable. i also have a lot of fun expressing myself through fashion, so many of my outfits are a mixture of what i love and what feels comfortable on me! i most enjoy loose, modest clothing, layers, and accessories. my wardrobe contains both thrifted pieces as well as the occasional investment piece, like a nice purse or leather jacket that will last. i’m not ashamed to admit that i like trendy things, too! 🎀 🥰 tho i’m also the type to wear clothes until they’re completely destroyed, lol. 😆

to answer your second question, my hair is about waist length! sometimes i exaggerate the length a bit in my chibi doodles haha. my irl hair is almost exact to how i draw it, it’s wavy and thick, so i love to style it 🙂‍↕️ if you have any go-to ways of styling your hair, i would love to hear about them ✨ here are some of my favorite ways of styling mine!

23. oh man. this is a tough question. though i’m a big fan of this surreal portrait series i made in 2024. these pieces have a very unique style, colorful and experimental. 🙂‍↕️

2. a fic you didn’t expect to write?

unusual haunts. the characters in this fic had minds of their own, and the story ended up developing and blooming before my eyes. this is a fic that i basically i lived in for about a day, forgetting to eat or drink, which i definitely don’t recommend haha. 😮‍💨 it’s one of my favorites pieces that i’ve written, though. it’s heart-wrenching and comforting and it really speaks to me, personally.

3. last sentence you wrote?

here’s a recent excerpt from a pkmn za wip that i’m unsure i’ll ever post:

And thus the game continues, Harmony’s every halting, sluggish throw more desperate than the last. Absol chirps, leaping out into the night with trilling cries, until Harmony swears she almost tastes the sun coming close on the horizon, slinking up in her throat like a spicy, slick sludge.

Absol leaps for the catch. Harmony flings the toy with such force her arm whips forth and slams against the counter. She hears the cart of drinks rattle beside her but ignores it.

The fury’s still stuck there—all stuck and trapped inside of her. It’s unfair. It was all over before she could say what she wanted to say. It was all over before she’d even begun.

17. what compliment about your writing has always stuck with you?

so many comments have touched my heart, if not all of them. i’m very grateful for everyone’s words, and i can’t express that enough. 🥹 recently, there was a particular comment on scenic our house that said something along the lines of:

there is a quiet feeling of hope laced in each line, each chapter, and it makes me ache and hope so, so badly that despite everything, it will be okay.

and wow, that really touched my heart.

8. what made you start writing?

this is an excellent question—i love escaping into a fantasy world, learning new things, or experiencing a perspective i’d never thought of before. writing does that for me and more. it allows me to explore, create new worlds, and venture into the unknown. what i love most about it is the sheer possibility of writing—there’s so much that it can develop into, even if i know nothing about the road ahead. many times, the simple act of writing itself has both a thrill and a certain comfort. so i believe that i began writing out of my love to create. it’s always been so much fun!

18. favorite things to draw?

i love drawing the human figure, particularly portraits. line, human form, and composition are my favorite things to work with. on occasion i enjoy sketch studies, pen drawings, and gestural work. i also love creating pieces that are utterly surreal.

29. if you had one piece of advice to give your younger artist self, what would it be?

to not be so hard on myself! as a young artist, i always had very high standards, as well as a plethora of perfectionistic tendencies that began to suck the joy out of my work. soon, i felt worried more than excited when i was starting a new piece of artwork. this is easier said than done, but letting myself be free of my own expectations has helped me produce some of my best work, and it’s completely removed that anxiety that wouldn’t allow me to start.

13! any advice for burnout/writer’s block?

13. writer’s block is tough, and i’ve experienced it often! this is a bit silly, but i enjoy romanticizing the act of writing on the days that i struggle to start my work. i make a cup of coffee, have some cute snacks on hand, play some gentle jazz music, wrap myself in a cozy blanket, and light a nice-smelling candle. since the space and mood around me are perfect for writing, i soon adapt to that mood and begin my storytelling. i often use this same strategy for work or studying, so this method can be pretty versatile!

another method that works for me is just writing a scene that’s as self-indulgent as possible. i’ve written a bit on this before when answering an ask on general writing advice, which i encourage you to check out as well. 🙂‍↕️

if i’m having trouble continuing or starting to write, i find a scene i really, really want to write. it can be anything—even something i don’t think i’ll ever incorporate into a published work. i find that scene, that blurb, or that strand of dialogue, and write it. the more self-indulgent the better! starting something can be the hardest part, so just getting a few words down is a cause for celebration :D

if none of these methods work for you, your mind’s running in circles or you simply can’t stay focused, that may be a sign to take a brain break! go for a walk, stretch, take a shower, lay down and shut your eyes, or make yourself a yummy snack…any of these things can help me get back on track. sometimes, when i’m very into my writing, i forget eat or drink. so make sure to take care of yourself first and foremost—if needed, set some alarm reminders!! giving your body the nutrients it needs may be what helps get your mind working again. the brain uses so much energy, after all!
