here are some things that i think. i think that making you do standard deviation longhand is evil and twisted. i think that if i did aahl math and multivariable calculus and have a science bachelor's i should be exempt from taking statistics. i think that the last time i did this longhand was 8th grade and that we need to leave this behind in 8th grade. i think that if you are being given practice problems to find the standard deviation of a set of data, it should be max 5 points. i think that an online exam where the teacher does not check my work and the whole thing is automated through the textbook is evil and lazy because you know i have the process right, i'm just fucking one up small decimal somewhere because i have 25 points of data and i am doing this multi-step process to crunch it with a ti 30 calculator and i deserve 80% credit for that. perhaps even 99%.
