Hello, let me reintroduce myself I am Grumpy McCrabbyPants and I am about to speak out. Itâs been a while. And despite what everyone seems to think Tumblr is not dead yet(?). Actually I think the last time I spoke out on this platform was when the TidePod generation was creating stupid all over the news. So yes, I have a lot to unload and the time to do it with.
This is going to be TL:DR There is no short version. Sorry - Not Sorry. You actually have to read.

Where to begin? The present should work since once again there is stupid all over the news. And when I say stupid, I am not talking about the peaceful protests, or my showing up and upholding my Constitutional rights, and I just love the solidarity of our sisters and brothers in other countries who hold the same opinion of our Almighty Impotent leader. (Dang! That Microsoft Word Auto Correct is at it again. I should turn that off) Nope. The stupid I am talking about is the Orange Jello Blob that is claiming to be Dictator of America.
You know who he is. The Self Appointed Delusional Darwin Reject Despot (He shouldâve ate those TidePods) who is trying so hard to keep his vengeance train running by stirring the pot with his uneducated, moronic rhetoric and his butt kissing uninformed ill advised sycophants boosting his apparently extremely fragile ego.
Wait letâs not dwell on him. Do you hear that Trump I am not Talking about you anymore. OMG get a life.

On to the real reason for this post.
I canât keep quiet anymore. Because it bothers me that our current administration has forgotten we are all tied to an Immigrant at some time or another and does not respect our veterans.
I am proud of my familyâs history.
I can stand up and say I am a daughter, sister, niece, grand niece, aunt, cousin, and granddaughter of Immigrant US Military Veteranâs and descendants who served this country in various armed forces through various war eras. Upholding and swearing their oath to the Constitution. I donât care how you slice it, or how far removed you think you are, with the exception of our Indigenous Peoples who were here before we stepped foot on these lands, we can all draw a straight line to an Immigrant. And we have ALL of served in the military (in one capacity or another).
So let me tell you what my Immigrant Family did for their new country (USA) through the generations I am aware of.
My Great Uncle (Direct Immigrant) Fought Under General Patton in Casino.
For those asking why not my Grandfather too? My history is a bit sketchy but here goes: so he did volunteer, however, they did not accept him. I couldnât find out why. Not sure if its because he was the youngest of the line or he simply didnât pass the physical. However he did his part for the war effort on the home front. Point of Entry: Ellis Island
Grandfather (Motherâs side. I believe they were 4th or 5th generation US of A by the time I was born) served in the Philippines. Came into the USA via Canada. Point of Entry: Prince Edwards Island.
Aunt - is a veteran who served in the Womenâs Army Corp. for those who do not know what that is, here's a definition and follow the link for more.
Womenâs Army Corps (WAC): A branch of the U.S. Army created during World War II for women. Members served in non-combat roles, and the corps was eventually integrated into the regular Army in the 1970s.Â
Uncle - United states Marine Corp received a Navy Cross for holding off enemy fire until his Battalion and other friendlies were able to get through the barrage only leaving when they were evacuating the wounded. I understand this was brutal and he did loose a good portion of his leg in the process. Plus my Aunt, his wife, served as a Military Nurse AND was a direct Immigrant. Iâll let the romantics figure out how they met and what lead up to it.
Vietnam Era & Operation Dessert Storm
My Father served in the Army and retired as CW-4 (It might be CW-5 but I am not going to claim that one until I am sure). For those of you who say that is not a real rank you should rethink that thought. His specialty placed him in both arenas.
Sorry I have to stop here and share this:
Once I asked my Dad what a Chief Warrant Officer was because some Captainâs Army Brat told me, the other Army Brat, that my âDaddy was not a real officer.â My Dadâs response was thisâŠCWs specialize in what they do, so when it comes to it, part of our(his) job is to respectfully inform the higher ranking officer âThat's not the way it worksâ and âThatâs not what it is built to doâ and "That's not how its going to be done" So... I took this to mean that âMy Daddy can tell your Daddy what NOT to doâ What do you want? I was 11 at the time.
Afghanistan Era to the Present
My Brother - Air Force whose job deployed him within the Middle East regions off and on. He ainât talking and weâre not asking. As it should be.
I also have nephews who are serving in the Navy, Marines, and Air Force through both blood and marriage lines. Before you ask, where are the girls? Sorry the Boys kinda outnumber the girls in this family.
But if it helps⊠I did pass my ASVAB however, my Dad was not pleased. First I never told him I was going to do this. Secondly, I donât know if it was because the Army was trying to fill their female demographic quota by wanting me to go into the Motor Pool (by the way that was the section of the ASVAB I didnât excel in) or he objected because he thought I would not make it. Let suffice it to say he won the battle.
And then a final shout out - To all of those who have served as a Dependent Spouse of Military Personnel. Do not forget, nor regret, that you are just as much involved as the one who is serving our country. If they are deployed then you are now in full command of the household. So keep the pride , love and home fires burning and donât let anything, or anyone, take that away.
