i think the beauty of poetry is that there’s no “one-size-fits-all.” not every poem has to be sad just as every poem doesn’t have to be happy. your poem can be a line long just as it can go on for endless pages. as a writer, i think it’s beautiful that whatever you’re thinking about ends up coming to fruition whether you expect it or not. you mention the concept of your poems to a friend or type it out haphazardly on a note on your phone at almost 2am or you quickly scribble it on a napkin. i think that’s the beauty in writing—you can do whatever you want with it. whether you share your pieces with the world or keep them locked up in your mind, they’re yours and no one can take that from you.
