An experiment I did testing out different watercolour papers and mediums with a cute bird! in order: -Cold-pressed watercolour paper and watercolour paints. Cold-pressed paper allows for better layering and deeper colours. The paint seeps into the textured paper easily
-Hot-pressed paper and watercolour paint. Hot-pressed is a smooth surface watercolour paper that allows for minimal layering but great for lifting paint. The colours sit on the surface. I still have a hard time using this paper but it's so fun to experiment with
-hot-pressed paper with posca acrylic markers. I've been trying to find paper to use posca markers with that dont rip them up. Some hot pressed paper holds up better, this one is not awesome. but the smooth surface and thickness allowed for minimal layering of paint before it started pilling.
