Even though I often clamor for a more diverse set of arts focus, I'm not at all against family-friendly gatherings. And this is a great one. Logie hopped off the stage and danced with the kids. It's adorbs. No question ....I just wish the late night crowds weren't so demonized. There ain't nothing with a lil rocknroll every now and then. The sibling and I went to a "creative" preschool/daycare which had a turntable and a bunch of 50s records. Toward the end of every day, we'd have this "freetime" to do whatever we wanted--which, for me, was to play the hell outta those records and pretend to be some classic disc jokey. Funny how things work out. Anyways, I don't know what it means do be a kid who didn't listen to Chuck Berry almost every afternoon. Of all the pictures I've taken, this has always been one of which I'm most proud. Taken on a rainy day in Raleigh, 2008. Me and @iridescent_shard danced with him on stage. @itsnotpoison was there and framed this print afterward. It hangs in my living room. There's a lotta layers to than brown-eyed handsome onion, but I'd fear the fate of rocknroll and my life in general if Johnny B. Goode never happened. Gnight, Chuck.

Last night we broke off from the official festivities to see Anubis Jackson Jr., the ultimate @pujoldotcom tribute. It was a real treat, and reminded me why I so strangely dig this pocket of weirdo bands and their weirdo city. (at Charlie Bob's East Nashville)
