     If he had a credit for every time he heard that tired argument from some off-world unit trying to make themselves feel better, he might have been able fund a lobbying campaign for that clones-rights bill brought up in passing by progressive senators. Fox once again found himself thankful for the face covering, as he was sure the eyeroll he failed to conceal would have done nothing but rile up the misguided Captain more. He had no need to justify himself to someone who knew so little, and yet-

      “Soundly. Like we were all trained to do. I have done your job, Captain. I was planetside on Geonosis, where it was clear who your enemy was and what your objectives were. If you truly think that this posting is anything like shore leave on 79s, then you are lying to yourself or your cloning vat sprung a leak.      The T-visor remained unmoved but Fox’s eyes flicked down to follow Rex’s hand. Despite how visibly annoyed the captain was, Fox knew he wouldn’t keep the accusing finger pointing forever. But in the back of his mind, the part that evaluated threats to keep him alive he couldn’t help but wonder if Rex was leaving his hand closer to his weapon. Wouldn’t be the first time a member of his legion pulled a weapon on him. Watch your tone, Captain. I do not require your permission to speak my mind, nor do I seek it. Skywalker has little sway with me. My orders come from Homeworld Security or The Chancellor’s office. Not from the war’s poster child.” His arm’s folded over his chest as Fox examined his brother once more. He would keep a keen eye on him, especially if his emotions kept escalating. “You are their commanding officer. Any deficiencies in your legion fall with you.” He paused, waiting half a beat for a reaction before adding: “Besides. With the astronomical casualties Skywalker seems to have the 501st incur with every battle, I would hardly know which of your men could  be held accountable.”

The audacity of The Good Captain to be so condescending, Fox could have almost laughed were it not for the serious implications of insubordination. He had dead troopers to bury- some of the best of the best, often picked by his own hand or by that of one of his command team and Rex had the gall. Pivoting on the ball of his foot, Fox rounded to face Rex fully, broadening his shoulders slightly as they set back into the tense position they so often held. “Watch your tone, Captain. You will not presume to give me an order again. Personally vouching for the jedi means very little to me. I have casualties, I will bring her in however I see fit.” He paused for a bit, making a mental note to have his recon teams keep half an eye on Torrent’s commanding officer. “This is now the third traitor from your legion, Captain. I strongly advise you reevaluate your criteria for trust.”

Ooc: making an official announcement: as for as this blog is concerned Captain Keeli and Commander Ganch are now part of the Coruscant Guard's leadership and you can pry them from my cold dead hands.

Ganch takes lead over half the urban response unit, with the other half usually being led by Fox himself.

Keeli is put in charge of the correctional facility while he recovers, and acts as a liaison to the CSF (Coruscant Security Force)

     Tell you what. The 501st is on shore leave and my holding cells are full. Frankly, coordinating with the CSF to transfer you into their jurisdiction is more hassle than dealing with Ceryse is worth. Give me one convincing reason I should not put in the effort, and I will let you walk with just a citation on your record.
