hard same,,, the last season i was actively involved in was lost, and though i checked back in for haunted (played a little bit of chosen, plunder, and witch) ever since i just have not been able to get myself to care about it like emotionally. which is a real shame because i still am attached to the game and the characters but like it's so draining and i just don't have the energy. also i really don't like a lot of the writing decisions they've made since witch queen (particularly asher's death) so that sours me on it

I totally feel you on not being as emotionally invested in the story and it's hard to totally pinpoint why. The last time it was really feeding me was Season of the Splicer, but mostly for OC reasons. I've talked to a friend a bit about the Guardian feeling like a support character and why that might be the cause of so much indifference. For example, Eris becoming a Hive God was super cool! Loved what it did for her character arc. But it also meant we were just standing in the background giving her a thumbs up and Xivu gets resolved basically offscreen. If I trusted the writers more, I could see this as a set up for the Corridors of Time vision of the Guardian's death being accurate, and it's building up everyone else to take over in their absence--but I'm not sure they even remember that was a thing.

Also every time we get new Witness lore I just feel sad.

Also also I miss having Asher around too! The little bits of Asher story peppered through Lightfall were one of the few things I really liked.

Been having trouble really getting excited about the D2 plotlines since the start of Witch Queen, but it's still fun to rotate blorbos as Guardians scenarios in my head.
