“It would be a little hard to imagine I guess.” Serah smiled a bit, giggling about the fact that really they were just talking about soda like it was something unimaginable.

“It really depends on what you like I guess. There are a lot of fruit flavored ones, and there there are also flavors that are specific to soda. Who knows how they get those.” Serah shrugged. “I personally like Strawberry and Cream Soda. But I bet you could’ve guessed that.”

Noel tilted his head, further displaying his interest. A beverage with flavors emulating fruit? Although from where he came, fruit and vegetables were scarce, he savored the few oppurtunities he did have to enjoy them. And so, he pictured himself gravitating towards those flavors of soda due to their possible familiarity. Trusting Serah’s tastes, cream soda didn’t sound too shabby either.

“Might have to try one of those first then;

I think the fruit-flavored ones sound really good...”

While Noel’s imagination continued piecing the details together, he realized how distracted he was. “My bad, I shouldn’t think too much about this if now’s not the time--

--. . . Is now a good time?” Perhaps he simply couldn’t drop the subject at this point.

Serah looked over at her friend after hearing his question, and could only smile. To some people, questions like this might get annoying, but not to Serah. She found it amusing more then anything to have to teach a full grown man about things that most would know since childhood.

“I know what Soda is Noel.” Serah giggled lightly. “What’s it’s like really depends on the flavor you get, but over all soda is a carbonated drink. It has a lot of tiny little air bubbles in it. I don’t really know how best to explain it otherwise. Soda is also very, very sweet. It isn’t very good for you but it does taste good! It isn’t very expensive, so maybe we can get you some to try for yourself ok?”

Noel appreciated Serah’s willingness to help sate his curiosity. The hunter always held a fondness for learning, even if it was about something so minor. Perhaps one day he would vocalize his gratefulness regarding her patience, but not now. He was too busy squinting as he tried to picture the taste of such a peculiar-sounding beverage.

“I can’t. . . I can’t imagine it.” he finally answers, shrugging.

“But-- I’ll take your word for it. I’d like to try it! Whenever this happens, what kind do you think I should try first?” he asked, subtle hints of eagerness behind his words. While the purpose of carbonating a drink still puzzled him, the idea of flavors left him feeling more intrigued.
