                the great strength of pulse beasts left the soldier unexpectedly outmatched after she and her comrades were separated. with every hit and burst of magic, the behemoth would fiercely retaliate. lightning was growing impatient as the minutes passed and her stamina gradually declined, however she stubbornly continued to fight against her bodies own will and pushed through her growing exhaustion. with a harsh swing of her blade, she cut through the beasts leg and hastily drew back with an audible hiss slipping through her clenched teeth. lightning then lifted her hand and with the advantages of her l’cie status, she cast a strong line of thunder; her last resort to end the fight with victory.

the wave of magic struck through the behemoths center and a shock pushed the beasts bloodstained claws across the space between them; resulting in a severe gash along her outer thigh. in pain, lightning fell back willingly – her feet still keeping her off the ground. with a clenched jaw, pale blues gazed up at her foe with vision slightly blurred before she glanced down at her fresh injury. the sight of red caught the woman off guard and yet she still managed to balance her weight by the hilt of her sword; the tip of its blade digging into the terrain beneath her. it was apparent that she would likely run out of energy and strength to finish the battle, and as difficult as it was for lightning to accept that fact, she would attempt to flee. in doing so, her shaking legs forced her to her knees and leather clad palms caught the fall. ❛ damn it. ❜

rosette strands fell messily over her shoulder as she peered back at her foe who was now distracted by another. instinctively, lightning had hoped it was one of her known allies – but at the sight of the eventually fallen behemoth, she caught vision of unfamiliar garbs. her pride quickly shined through her weakened state and with a sharp attitude, she called out to the unwelcome assailant. 

            ❛  i don’t know who you are, but i didn’t ask for your help.  ❜ a typical cold response, as the man would surely grow quickly accustomed to. ❛  don’t come any closer to me.  ❜ her instant defense mechanism, as light was well aware of her vulnerable state. the blood that seeped through her closed fingers as she securely defended her leg was an unwanted invitation for concern.

     It was troubling finding someone laying around in the middle of a warzone. It was even more troubling when that person was herself. Headaches that accompanied rude awakenings were the worst, making her extremely groggy as she sat up with a hand to her head and groaned. That hit from the Adamantoise was much stronger than anticipated. Normally the cadet would have evaded it without problem, but someone suddenly waltzing in threw her off and she had proceeded to run over and shove them out of the way instead. 

   But where was the enemy now? She looked around, expecting to see it still nearby, but no, nothing. Something didn’t feel right. And the person? Did she imagine them? She stood carefully, wincing for a moment. She didn’t need to look down to know something was wrong with her leg. More importantly, though... 

   “Hello? Are you there?”

I think the biggest problem this community has is the fact that few people know how to deal with things they dislike in a constructive manner. I haven't seen anything productive come out of vagueblogging or bitching. A lot of people are entitled little brats. It's like people have never heard of constructive conversation. All of these points tho just ������ you're speaking on behalf of a lot of people so thank you for this post. I could go on all day about these points.

This is true. So like maybe that’s another point we can bring up, or like another post that can be made by me or anyone else, is how to respond appropriately to a situation. It’s so easy for people, not only in RPC but in Tumblr culture and online culture in general, to just blindly make an accusation or demand something instead of... having a civil conversation or discourse. And that’s gotta stop.

There is also the tag-along culture of “ this has been deemed as bad, you should jump on the bandwagon or risk being shamed ” or whatever the threat is. I don’t know, I don’t participate in fandom shenanigans & I don’t reblog stuff 99% of the time just because someone else wants me to. It’s really important for people to remember that you are you, you are responsible for your own actions, & if people leave because you didn’t jump off the proverbial bridge just because everyone else did, is everyone else actually thinking for themselves? If they abandoned or abused you, are they truly worthwhile enough to keep around?

Or maybe we should just even talk about what it means to be constructive. Which, for anyone reading who is confused ( ‘cause I mean ! it’s possible ! some people don’t realize they’re being destructive or that there’s another way to explain things ), we mean to give advice or point something out with the intention of being helpful. This is usually accompanied by giving an example and offering a suggestion for improvement. For example, don’t come to me saying “ You write a bad Yuffie ! ” Instead, you can say, “ This is my opinion, but I feel like your writing could use some improvements in areas x, y, z. When you wrote [ this ], it lacked [ that ]. ” Also please realize a person can accept or reject critique; they’re not obligated to listen just because you said something. But perhaps they will consider it. And I mean, that’s the whole point of critique: to give the artist / writer / creator a chance to change.

I’m just like honestly really happy this was useful to people out here & people could relate. I know there’s more that could be said so I’m hoping like others will be inspired to take the torch and speak out against bullying & injustice. It takes a village, right?

@burnteyes: personally, i’d LOVE to have snow or fang or, fuck me running, sazh. anyone, really. the few of the fandom that are still around are all amazing and i think i speak for all of us when i say that we’d love to see anyone who might tickle your fancy!

@lazuliss & @caiiius: i feel like the only character who has the potential to consistently have people writing them is light, because SE has a hard-on for her ( not that i’m complaining xD ) and puts her in everything they can. and obviously i think lightning is fantastic and i always love seeing other portrayals ( i only follow a few because i’m so hesitant about following dupes? not because of me, but i know some people are VERY not cool with following the same muse as their own, and that’s totally understandable ), but EVERYONE ELSE IN THE TRILOGY IS SO GREAT TOO?! even if i didn’t love a character at first, they all have grown on me to absurd degrees. like, give them love, people.
