United Airlines Checked Baggage Scam
Recently was traveling back home from SFO to Mumbai, India via United airlines. My wife and me purchased the ticket from united.com and got this email confirmation which clearly states the baggage allowance as two checked bags free.
But when I reached the check in kiosk the "Customer Service" agents were extremely rude and flat refused to even consider the email communication. Clearly stating that I had a choice of either paying the $100 for the bag or canceling my ticket!!
This seems like a scam that United is running to extort money from paying customers by misleading them with communication and then charging them for a mistake made by the airlines.
Please share this post with other travelers so that we are able to save them from the extortion racquet that United airlines is running on international travelers!!
