Announcing Retirement

Greetings, all. As some of you may have noticed that the askbox has been closed for a few days now. I did it to give myself a bit of space to think, and unfortunately, I've come to the conclusion that, through a combination of disinterest, real-life obligations, and general unpleasant behavior I've had to deal with on here, I'm going to retire this blog.

Initially, I was just going to close the box and see if the lack of interaction would allow the blog to die organically, but on reflection I didn't think it was fair to all of you to not say anything, especially with how several people have reached out to ask.

Still, I'd like us to have a bit of life before this thing peters out. So I'm going to reopen the askbox again until June 5th before shutting it down again. Please feel free to go ahead and submit to your heart's content, and the queue will be allowed to run with whatever is in there.

And I just want to say that most of you have been absolutely wonderful. I've loved being able to hear so many varying thoughts and have a good bit of fun talking about something we as a community collectively love and love to make fun of. This isn't a choice I make out of any particular joy, but I've found that a combination of factors on this blog here is taking a toll on my mental health, and I'd like to think I'm responsible enough to know when to know my limits and tap out.

It's been a good run! I'm glad to have met so many people. I hope you've enjoyed your stay and had a bit of fun!

Faust helped me a lot with my mental health. Thanks to Faust, I could understand more of my life (I relate to him a lot; also, I was one of those "Faust saved my life" anons).

I may not be that hiperfixated on Faust as I was last year, but hey, the existence of this character not only helped me trust in myself more, but the way he's written inspired me to start some little projects and add more depth to its characters.

Fun thing when it comes to writing characters with minimal screen time is that. They're so. Much that's not shown about them. Like the Conclave are gonna effectively be my OCs. I legitimately would have to try so hard to make them ooc. I have so much power. Taking the place of #1 Conclave fan fr fr

Anyway so fucked up if Baldias has no tongue. He can't fucking taste the tea. Sad day. Does he miss his humanity. Have I already written abt this? I don't remember. I'm feeling feelings for my lambs. I'm just spouting words.

I love them so much. Wuagh. They're so much to me. I would do so much for them. I will never listen to Zato's Strive theme the same because the last part. The last part feels like me singing to the Conclave. Tbh. I want to carve their ways for something better.....

Ok I promise this is guilty gear related just hang with me

So there’s this guy, hot, cool, checks all of the boxes, fucking amazing really, we talk once or twice, I immediately figure out he likes guilty gear due to fact he wears happy chaos glasses like all the time, saw them on Pinterest at one point.

I have never played guilty gear in my life, so you know what I did?I bought strive, booted up my ps5, and started playing. I started of Faust and I-No, the two seemed like fun. Trying to figure out the combos and stuff was hard due to their ease of use and all of that, but I was learning.

I put the game down for a bit, focus on finals and school work. By then I wanted to be nice and send him a letter before the summer. So I did. In that letter I said I was up to play guilty gear if he wanted.

After finals and all that, we play a bit of gear. And he fucking wipes my ass, clear cut. I literally had a headache because of it, dude I died like 0-8 or something.

He takes a trip to Mexico, and while he’s gone. I’ve played guilty gear for atleast 6 hours a day, learning all the moves, all the combos, the meta, the lore, all that shit. Just so I can feel like I’m on same page as him.

Anyways yeah that’s my confession👍

I could treat the Conclave so right. I could be their friends so good. I have such charisma. They would love me. I could stop Xrd from happening because I could convince them that the Justice revival shit ain't the way. I could help them get therapy.

I have such. Genuine sorrow for the Conclave. They make me so sad. Like they're very cartoony but the way Libraria is having some? Guilt. Regarding the fact that the Cradle is causing casualties. Like oh no. At least Chronus and Libraria, they like. Genuinely think this was the best course of action for humanity. Which is like. *Falls to the floor* fucking dammit!?! Ohh my god. My misguided lambs. Ohhh my god.

Head in hands. Fuck it man.

The genuine confusion they'd have for me. Like WAUGH. I might be the only person to pity you bitches in existence honestly. Like god. I want you guys to get better so bad. Ohhhhh man..... Sobs.

Wish I was Ky in Sign so I could get shot 5 times by Axus. Like funniest scene in there to me. Guy just had a revolver. Yeah. Okay sure. Why the fuck not. And he was really making sure Ky was dead.

Btw he should stick that gun down my throat. Ahah. I need him.

Also Axus screams really funny when he gets killed. Big rip bozo. Skill issue.

Now I'm starting to think about playable Chronus unfortunately. The potential voicelines he'd have for Chaos, Faust, Asuka..... What would his arcade mode be.. ough... Maybe having Faust make him learn not to bear guilt would be neat.... Really wish we had more info on what they were doing all those 200 years of. Going around. Teaching magic. Then also being in the UN and controlling it.

But I will put all my efforts into manifesting Robo Ky for strive. The Robo fans deserve him. Since Mk 2 mimics everyone's moves in isuka,, what if Robo Ky mimicked some of Venom's moves.. Robo Ky balling. Real.

I'd say I'd let him bite my dick off but I think his dogs are gonna do that considering he doesnt have teeth either

I've only submitted an ask about my lovely incredible wife Justice here but since you're retiring (Godspeed & have fun) I guess I'll say something about my interesting and strange husband..?

I really like Robo Ky and while I realize every iteration of him besides X+ and the tangerine side story + XRD aren't confirmed to be the same robot, I think it does a disservice to his character to state that he was never the person we see in XX or Accent Core? There's a very strong character thread throughout all his appearances and iterations. The Tangerine story even canonizes how he acts in Accent Core.

It just feels like people are ignoring large parts of his personality in order to not deal with the fact that a dude who genuinely kinda sucked to be around is nonetheless a compelling person and became a better person...?

There's genuinely some great character depth in Accent Core even if you just look at the text (his constant hatred of "the original"), without even covering what's below it (how Crow seems to be bored of him, moving on to newer more exciting projects (Robotemkin, the Justice copies, trying to get Dizzy...)), and I think people do themselves a disservice by ignoring that game when writing him.

Also, he's so cute in XX. People rarely talk about AC Robo Ky but they never talk about XX Robo Ky. He's so silly. They reused the same background of him for both Faust's ending and Potemkins ending, did you know? He could brainwash people. It only worked on idiots (exaggerating for comedic effect). And still, I can see the character thread that came from X+ and continued into AC and beyond into XRD... (Though that's probably just my imagination. I doubt the writers thought that hard about him.)

Anyway, I really like Robo Ky. He's not underrated but I think people ignore a lot of his character. Which sucks. Also I really like my beautiful wife Justice I just froth at the mouth whenever I try to talk about her.

People have been calling the TRUMPET in ups and downs a SAXOPHONE and it's starting to piss me off. I am a saxophone player and the difference very clear being that a trumpet is brass and a sax is a woodwind. Jack-a-Dandy has sax in it and people keep saying "Oh don't worry guys there's still sax in ups and downs." NO. WHAT YOU ARE HEARING IS A TRUMPET. I've listened to ups and downs dozens of times and I still can't hear any sax.

sorta really sucks that submissions are closing! I enjoy talking about gg headcanons and thoughts anonymously. thank you mod for making all of this possible. I'm real sorry you had to deal with some awful anons. anyway I would just like to say that the gg community (that I choose to interact with at least) has always been a pretty helpful and inviting place. it's great that there are so many people I can talk to about my favs!!!! gg is the first fighting game I ever played (literally the first game I've ever spend real money on....) and I haven't regretted it. ty to all the kind people in this fandom and thank you to mod for being so awesome as to make this cool anonymous thingy thing
