003. ABOUT THE BLOG
This blog was started on Feb 21, 2026.
This blog is a passion project of mine, I'm a huge fan of the Guilty Gear series and I wanted to make my own AU of sorts. When Dual Rulers first released, I thought "If this is a new generation of protaganists, what about a new generation of characters entirely?" ... Which lingered in my mind for far too long.
Well, that's the whole concept of this AU, a new generation of characters. I plan for there to be a plot sometime soon, but as I'm writing this, I'm just starting out. Testing the waters, even.
July 8, 2026 Update: hi! I finally got the first chapter done :) hopefullyyy its gonna be posted soon...

Sin and Unika had been called into Illyria Castle for supposed "important business." What this business is was a complete mystery to them.
"I just hope she doesn't yell at us over a mistake again; it was one time!" Sin said, a little too loudly. "She was so vague with her message to us, almost like we were in trouble."
"I doubt it," Unika replied. "She would've stormed right over to us if she was mad. You know how she is."
Unika pushed the door open, letting Sin in. Inside was a rather spacious office, a dark oak desk sitting in the middle. At that desk sat... her. Wynter.
"Do you know why I called you in here?" Her voice was stern, hands planted firmly on the desk.
"No, not really." Sin said, Unika nodding in agreement.
"Are you serious?" Wynter raised an eyebrow. "You haven't even seen the news? Nothing? Zero clue?"
"Yeah. I mean, there's always something going on-"
Wynter stared him dead in the eyes, squinting almost angrily at him before returning to her usual, stern expression.
"Well then, I have a job for you..." She picked up some papers, straightening them on her desk with a tap, tap, tap. Looking down, she read over the assignment's page.
"Investigate the disappearance of gears within Illyria. And do so discreetly. Apparently, my men are too incompetent to even return!"
"If that's what this is about, you could have just said so!" Sin shouted, excited. "You're sending us on a mission, right? I haven't been on one in a while!"
"This is what I mean by discreetly."
Going through her desk, Wynter skimmed through a few papers before collecting the ones she needed, grabbing them and placing the pages in a file.
"Now, out my office! Go!" She sent the two away with a shooing motion, handing over the file.
The two had been walking to their destination for a long while, having stopped to get a meal before even considering their mission. Can't fight on an empty stomach, after all. Or that's what Sin would argue.
"Man, she was kinda rude, wasn't she? Wonder what's up with her." Sin said.
Unika spoke in response. "She's just having a bad day… or so I've heard."
"So you've heard? You definitely know something…"
"Even if I did, it's not any of your business."
"Come on! Wynter is our friend, shouldn't you tell me just a little bit?"
"I'm assuming it had something to do with Wynter's subordinates. I mean, they did all just… disappear. But you didn't hear that from me."
Sin stopped right where they were walking, opening the folder he was handed and flipping through it.
"You see that alleyway?" He pointed, his head poking out from the folder. "We gotta go down there." Upon speaking, he began to pick up the pace, Unika following behind.
At the end of the passageway was a door, suspiciously locked shut. Presumably, the back entrance to some sort of business. Sin stopped again, blocking the way.
"Oof!" Unika bumped into him, not paying attention to where she had been going.
"Hey, watch it!"
She rubbed her head, looking up at the door. "That's weird. What kind of business needs that many locks?"
"You read my mind."
Sin walked up, turning the nob and checking just in case it was unlocked. Locked, he tried again, rattling the door a little more.
"Damn. What do we do now?" He turned to his sister, searching her eyes for an answer.
"Can't you just break it open? You're strong enough for that." Unika asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Right."
With a sudden burst of strength, Sin slammed himself into the door, its frame rattling the first time around. Then, he slammed into it again, the lock splitting into two and allowing him access.
When he took the first step inside… it was… a little shocking to look at.
Inside was what he presumed was a laboratory, but this was nothing compared to the ones he'd seen before. Papers and vials were sprawled out everywhere, like a struggle had occurred that he wasn't even aware of. He stepped forward, letting Unika inside too.
"This place gives me the creeps…" Sin looked around, watching his step as he took the lead.
A wave of something rotten, metallic, and almost… tangy hit his nose, souring both the air and his mood. "You wait here, Unika; I'll go ahead. You collect any information you can."
Unika nodded, allowing him to step forward and explore the place a little bit more.
The place was absolutely trashed, and a nightmare to walk through. With every step, he could hear the crunch of glass or the shuffling of paper.
Once he walked deeper into the lab, an awful, pungent smell overpowered his senses. It just kept getting stronger. And then he stepped in something wet. He looked down, albeit hesitantly, and saw a small puddle of blood.
He took a few more steps forward, looking for a sign of where the blood even came from. And that's when he saw it. A man wearing an Illyrian swordsman uniform- One of Wynter's men that hadn't come back.
Actually, he saw quite a few of them when he looked around… the oldest corpse dating back to about a week ago.
He kneeled, though a little hesitant to get on the dirty floor. Despite knowing otherwise, Sin shook the man's shoulder, hoping for some sign of life. Nothing. He was dead. But… what could have killed him?
His heart sank, seeing the large hole in the man's stomach. Completely hollowed out, the floor covered in his blood and gore.
"Sin!" He heard Unika's voice trailing behind him.
He quickly got up, disgusted, and ran towards Unika. His expression was completely clear as to what he saw. "We should probably go now, we've got everything we need. Right?"
"Uh... yeah. What's wrong? You look like you saw a…"
"It's bad, Unika. Really bad. I'll… tell you when we do our reports, you.. should avoid seeing it."
"Sin, what could possibly be so-"
And as they turned around, she saw it herself.
The writing of their reports wasn't very pleasant, as they had neither any good or new information regarding the situation.
"It's horrible, genuinely." Unika said, her voice low. "Who would do such a horrible thing?"
"I'm… really not sure. I'm sorry." Sin replied, looking at her with a sad look on his face.
"But I'm sure we'll find them! There's no point in moping around when we can do something, right?" His face shifted to show his hopefulness, smiling at her.
"Right. I'll do everything I can in my power to help."
