Love Language
holding hands // handwritten letters // handmade gifts // random acts of service // sharing food // flowers // making others laugh // praying for them // sitting in silence // cooking favorite meals // looking at the moon // reconnecting with old friends // resting heads on shoulders // walking side by side // sharing thoughts // heartfelt messages // remembering small details
Don’t shorten your words, I like your details.
February; they call it the month of love.
Just read somewhere love in Arabic being known as حُب and having a deeper meaning than that. Love, compassion, affection, deep connection and so much more.
It made me wonder that we often talk about loving others, having the need to form a deeper connection with human beings. What about your own self?
Do we take care of ourselves the same way we do for others? Do we show the same level of kindness we show others? Are we there for ourselves the way we are there for others? It’s funny that we prioritise others’ needs, emotions, and vulnerabilities and neglect our own. Next time when you read somewhere about love, remember to show yourself some حُب.
The rain has finally started... The drops hitting the tile roof sound comforting, and already the air feels cleaner, lighter, as the humidity is washed out of it.
— Lisa See, Lady Tan's Circle of Women, A Novel (Simon & Schuster, June 6, 2023)
[…] I felt the first drops of rain on my skin, like a sign.
Tessa Hadley, Reader, I Married Him: Stories Inspired by Jane Eyre; from ‘My Mother’s Wedding’
I am loving you in every drop of rain that falls and in every verse that blooms in my hands to caress your heart.
e.v.e. (Letters to my love)
The urge, no no no, the need to curl up in a cozy corner with my books and ignore my responsibilities is crawling at my skin.

It’s barely winter here and my heart craves for rain tonight. It should rain and I must listen to it sitting by the window with either thoughts in mind or a book in hand. In the hope anything that can fix the heartache.

You do not have to be perfect to start anything. You’re doing the wrong comparison for yourself. You possibly cannot be comparing yourself with someone already established. They must have had their own journey to reach where they are right now. And it must have taken a lot from them to reach the point where they’re capable enough to serve as an inspiration for countless others, finding a way for them. You will also get there one day. All you have to do is, start!
