im sorry to ask but i am in desperate need of $75 so i can clear up the negative that is in my account (yes, caused by own dumbass self and not remembering i used my card to set up billpay on an automatic bill recently) and go to the eye doctor this afternoon for an appt i had to wait a month to make last month to up my prescription to hopefully stop the migraines…. please dont get me started on how i’m going to get the new lenses. i have no fucking clue.

“a kid?” this is something that makes him lean forward, his disinterest broken for a few minutes before he leans back again, taking it in. “guys like us with a kid? how in the hell did she think that was a good idea? christ.” he studies thomas. kids - he knows how bad of an idea they are. he knows better than to have another. it digests in his head, a dizzying idea that he doesn’t want to fully touch on.

“wait, how is that even possible? nobody’s got the right parts.” unless he’s been really out of loop. maybe there’s some fancy sci-fi shit going on, but that doesn’t seem like scandal’s style. or maybe it is. he hasn’t been around, has he?

“i’m sure everyone can keep on goin’ without me. gimme another year, i might get enough time to be out.” if he doesn’t die, of course. the odds of that seem to go up with every mission.

he throws his hands up, exasperated. “look, i don’t think it’s that stellar of an idea either. the best thing that’ll possibly happen to that kid and his moms are that vandal sweeps him away in the night and they’ll just move on with their life, lesson learned.” he didn’t ever tell floyd what’s exactly what happened with his son; doesn’t need to. nobody needs to know. “you know i wouldn’t be able to talk her out of it, and bane’s back on the juice and off the map as the only voice she respects.”

“as for how babies are made – what, lawton, didn’t pay attention to knockout’s front the last time you cucked scandal?” he breaks into a grin, then leans back into his chair. “i’m just screwing with you. it’s my sperm and no, i didn’t get a hot lesbian foursome ending in a creampie.” he accentuates the elegant thought with a few twists of his wrists and a waggle of his eyebrows.

“anyway, maybe you could’ve smacked the cup of my hand if you were actually out at the time you should’ve been. it’s always one more year, huh? every day you spend in here is a day you’re going to get shanked by a speedster, or whatever. can’t imagine a chipper soul like you’d have a ton of friends in a place like this.”

“nah, if that bastard does somethin’ like that, we’ll go after him.” floyd sighs. “dumb as shit, but i s’pose if her heart’s set on it.” he’s tried to talk her out of a whole lot of things, but getting her to is near impossible. especially if it has something to do with her little family. she’s always been idealistic. it’s gonna kill her someday, but everyone dies.

“damn, i would’ve asked for one.” floyd shakes his head. “not that anyone is clamoring for my genetic material.” would he have still fucked knockout if she had a dick? with a rack like that, he decides, he wouldn’t care. but he would’ve noticed.

“hey, waller fucking wishes she could hold down a speedster,” floyd snorts. “i’ll be just as dead out there as in here, blake. ‘sides, i’m sure it’ll be easier to move around when i get out. won’t have to shoot up the cops every few cities.” it’s not like anyone has friends here. everyone is another person to throw in the line of fire before yourself, another person to blame for the mission going wrong.

“dangit!” floyd hisses, just under his breath. he comes out from behind the dumpster with both hands up, a cigarette between his first and second fingers. it trails smoke into the cooling air. this place usually smells like smoke, so he figured nobody would notice - but he’d stepped onto a broken bottle, cracking under his boot.

“fine. here i am.” he looks at her before putting his hands down so he can take another drag from the cigarette. it’s a nice neighborhood, but not too nice, not nice enough for anyone to know his parents. he’d split from a friend of his to smoke somewhere his mom wouldn’t bitch at him and his father wouldn’t yell. “i’m not dumpster diving or anything.” the restaurant owner keeps chasing people off for loitering. he wonders if she works there.

she  often  came  out  here  on  her  lunch  break  and  would  smoke  behind  the  dumpster  because  the  restaurant  owner  did  not  care  because  she  would  throw  away  the  trash  too,  a  quick  ten  minute  break  from  inside  a  busy  as  hell  diner  did  her  mind  wonders  but  what  she  is  not  expecting  is  to  see  the  boy. “  coulda  fooled  me,  what  are  you  doing  then?  “  beverly  keeps  her  expression  coy  and  she  pulls  out  a  lighter  from  the  inside  of  her  doc  martin  boot  still  dressed  in  her  blue  uniform  and  apron  her  red  hair  tied  into  a  messy  ponytail  and  she  chews  on  a  piece  of  gum. “  and  you  got  an  extra  cigarette,  stranger?  “  she  grins  a  little  and  leans  against  the  dumpster  just  needing  that  hit  of  nicotine  before  she  could  continue  on  with  her  crazy  shift.

floyd supposes he’ll have to stop by the corner store to get another pack anyways. it’s not like the cash he swiped from his mother’s purse won’t cover it, so he offers one to her as he takes another drag on his. this is a small break, a few hours when his parents won’t be around and his extracurriculars have been cancelled.

they want him to get his grades back up if he wants to go back to shooting, so he guesses he’ll have to write at least an essay on whatever shitty book they were writing in English. maybe he can copy off of one of his mates if he gives them a hundred bucks. “you’re not homeless. i thought it was homeless people who were smoking back here.” a girl. well, it could be worse. she’s not ugly.

TLDR: one of the most important people in my life is in need of help, and while i would give them the world if i could, unfortunately i can’t. so i’m doing what i can, which is sharing his fundraiser on any social media i have.

Kara put the zip tie around his wrists and pulled them tight enough so that he couldn’t get loose from them.  It wasn’t the first time that Dead Shot had been caught in Gotham but this time, she’d been called in to make sure he didn’t get free. There were parts of what he did that she found amazing and wondered, like Jason, why he needed to put his talent to work in such a destructive way.  

His words came as a surprise and she couldn’t help but blush.  Pulling his restraints so that he was standing to face her, Kara shook her head. “Although I’m quite flattered by your suggestion, Dead Shot.  How is it that you know I’m single.  How do you know that I’m not with more than one person.  You’re making quite an assumption there.  That and the assumption you’re my type.”

is that a flush? damn, either this girl has never been complimented before or floyd’s charm is somehow suddenly working on young, hot superheroes. “if a pretty thing like you was single, i think i’d’a heard about it. i certainly wouldn’t be quiet about it.” he considers winking and then decides that would be too much. he rubs his wrists against the zipties. the hero is going to be disappointed when amanda waller confirms that his record had been expunged. the worst thing he’d done was carry guns all over the place, which, really, everyone in gotham does.

“why wouldn’t i be your type? i’m rich and good-lookin’. can’t beat that.” maybe superman could. or wonder woman. he leans back on the street. this processing is going to take a long time. wonderful. the cops are going to love seeing him. again.
