He wasn’t going to have to look very far, in that case.
"It’s fuckin’ cold…" the girl muttered for the umpteenth time to herself, mouth falling into a frown at the puffs of white accompanying each shaky breath. Not only did she get dragged to this place, but her first glimmer of hope when it came to escaping this place any time soon turned out to be a trap. Some kind of sick game. On top of all that..
Green eyes fell to her wrist, and she sighed, rubbing at the black eyesore that was etched into her skin. Partner, huh? What a nice cherry on top, as if this whole ordeal wasn’t enough. The more she thought about it, the more Isabel could feel herself being pulled in a specific direction — almost like she had a built in compass.
It was in the midst of her confusion and distress that she heard the roars from up ahead. Ironically, that seemed to be where her body was urging her to go. Huh. Similar to a rubber band finally being allowed to snap back after a stretch, she gave into her instincts and let her feet operate on autopilot as she wandered forward, staying close to the trees. What she saw next, however, rendered her unable to look away.
A boy? A boy that could take out a beast with his bare hands? A boy that -….spotted her, apparently. Not that that mattered. A tiny form separated itself from the mass of foliage upon being addressed, immediately blurting, "Whoa! You..You killed it! With just your hands - you really, really killed it!" Ah. Observant as always.
「 Busy with crushing the skull of the hungry beast who'd tried to chomp on him, Brago had barely paid attention to the light tugging of the bond stemming from the new black mark engraved on his skin as it signaled his partner getting closer and closer. It was only after, when the thought of pursing it crossed his mind, that he realized in an instant how close it was. The one he'd addressed, there almost seemed to be an invisible line between them, and then came the emotions.
Awe. Curiosity and confusion. Distress. Not normally things that pestered the teen himself. It was a bit aggravating, really, these sort of emotions implanting themselves in his head. Shaking them off, eyes narrowed a bit as he fully turned to get a look at the small figure staring at him. Didn't seem to be too much like his last human partner. 」
Pipe down. There's no use in stating the obvious.
「 If anything, he was a bit unimpressed. She'd have to prove herself first if she wanted his respect for real, but for now he'd rather get the basics out of the way if he was going to be stuck with her. There were certain things that needed to be addressed if they were to be stuck as partners, no doubt about that. But, for now, first things first. Introductions. 」
You, woman. What's your name.
