Commission pricing system
I've decided to try to create a tangible system when it comes to pricing commissions. I recon this is a system most people use in one form or another, but back when I was a beginner artist I had no idea how to price my art. Something tangible like this would've helped me a lot.
This is the absolute minimum when it comes to points. You are not to go lower than this. You'll have to add more points as you skill and experience increases. A professional artist whose sole income is their art should not have points lower than 15, 16, 17, 18.
With this system the lowest you'll ever charge is £1,75. That is a headshot sketch you spent less than one hour on as a very beginner artist. As a professional artist, with a degree in art, whose sole income is my art, my points would look something like this:
Which means that the lowest I could ever charge (a headshot sketch I spent less than one hour on without any additional fees) would be £7.25, which to me feels like a fair price that matches my current skill level. With consultation fee, which is £15, the price would be £22.25.
