controversial but in my many years as a minor on tumblr i’ve never seen a single sex worker. they always block minors, mark their blogs as nsfw, and don’t spam the popular sfw tags. even if you, as a minor, actually look for them, as long as you listed your age truthfully in the registration, you won’t be able to find them.
what i, instead, saw as a minor was:
porn bots (which could be stopped by: captcha, double confirmation for accounts, not allowing url shorteners, not allowing rebloggers to delete captions, i would even be ok with hyperlinks not being allowed in reblogs)
fetishes and kinksters (which could be stopped by: adding more tags to the nsfw filter, including fetishes/kinks that appear as sfw)
people who forget tag their shit (which could be stopped by: an auto-tagging system for sensitive tags that would work similarly to the current block for apparently nsfw posts, but can give the op the option to delete incorrect tags)
pro-ana, pro-mia, romanticization of self-harm (which could be stopped by: banning the whole tag, as it just happened)
nazi, terfs (just kick them out for hate speech like twitter does)
pro-map thankfully only appeared once i was already past 18 but of course you could just ban the whole community + tag as it just happened.
prevent usernames with words that hate and pedophilic groups use to flag from being chosen at blog creation.
while i know that tumblr is a 13+ website, nsfw content was hidden from minors last year. most cp was deleted + outlawed (both irl and drawn) for good not even last month. and while those are recent changes they did make tumblr, overall, 13+ appropriate.
i do not care much for porn, i just feel like they are solving the problem the wrong way and punishing a group of people who did nothing to harm minors. there were smarter solutions to this problem that were ignored in the favor of a very sloppy solution that doesn’t even cover stuff like sfw kink blogs, porn bots who don’t post pictures (most of them), people who just won’t tag their nsfw, hate groups and other non-sex related communities who are extremely dangerous for minors.
Honestly I’ve been an adult the entire time I’ve been on tumblr and even I’ve never come across a sex worker blog. In fact, I wasn’t even really aware they were a big thing on the site until very recently. Obviously they’re running their blogs responsibly.
Everything else you listed though? You can’t avoid them if you try.
this is such a strange thing to see

Call for Submissions for the Hoes Have Boundaries Zine:
Hoes Have Boundaries is a pro-hoe, sex positive campaign and zine I am creating to help combat rape culture. We want to spread the message that having multiple sexual partners, having sex outside of a romantic relationship or marriage, or participating in the commercial sex industry does not make you deserving of disrespect, unwanted sexual contact or attention, etc and that you have the right to agency over your body like everyone else. This zine will include comic strips, written narratives, collages, graphs/charts, other visual art on topics including but not limited to sexual violence (e,g, sexual harassment, sexual assault, rape, unwanted sexual comments), rape culture, consent, bodily autonomy, agency, misogynoir, sex positivity, sex work, healing from sexual violence, reclamation of one’s body and sexuality after experiencing sexual violence.
Who is encouraged to apply:
· Self-identified hoes and THOTs
· Sexual violence survivors
· Current or former sex workers
· Sex positive folx
· Black feminists
· Intersectional feminists
· Women
· Trans and gender nonconforming folx
· LGBTQ+ folx
· Priority will be given to artists who are black femmes and feminine folx when possible as, because while anyone can experience sexual violence and slut shaming, the term “hoe” (which we are hoping to reclaim) has a history rooted in misogynoir. However, we are not the femme police and art that contributes to our mission of empowering black femmes and the feminine-aligned who have been punished for expressing their sexuality will be strongly considered.
Send submissions and questions to [email protected], subject “Hoes Have Boundaries Submission” or “Hoes Have Boundaries Questions”

URGENT
I’m honestly in tears. I am incredibly upset, I am shaking, I am furious. I need this post to reach as many people as possible, because I want everyone to be aware about this and we need to work together to help bring this young girl home safely. I have a lot of followers so I’m hoping this will spread quickly so more people are aware of this.
This is Kennedi High. You may have seen her circling through your dashboard. She’s 16 years old and she has gone missing, and so far everyone has pieced together through her snapchat story that something is really, really wrong. She’s acting funny, and recently her snapchat story has been updated: “I’m with this other man and he telling me I’m never going back home to see my family.” A lot of people think this may be a case of sex trafficking, and it most likely is, and I’m honestly terrified for her.
She’s originally from Baltimore, MD, though it’s said that she may currently be in the Mountain View California region. Please spread this if you can, reblog any other posts you find about her and get this story out. I’m absolutely sickened and shaken and I just want her to be safe. This is so important to me.
Not to mention, there’s been reports of over 64,000 black girls missing across the United States, and it’s most likely due to sex trafficking. 64,000 black girls. That’s just crazy. This is terrifying and needs more media coverage, this needs to be spread everywhere. We need to protect black girls. They need our help.
If you guys have any more information to add to this post or correct, please please feel free. I’ll try to add any other updates I find on the situation. In the meantime, if you can, please this reblog or any other posts relating to Kennedi and spread the word. Tell everyone about it. This needs everyone’s attention.
