I avoid looking down at my body, not so much because it’s shameful or immodest but because I don’t want to see it. I don’t want to look at something that determines me so completely.

Cufflinks belonging to Nicholas II with the monograms of Alexandra Feodorovna and their children. They were gifts from Alexandra to her husband on the occasion of the births of each of their children. Olga’s are pink, Tatiana’s red, Maria’s blue, Anastasia’s yellow, and Alexei’s are pale green(?). The images here were painted by Nicholas himself, and come from the book “The Jewel Album of Tsar Nicholas II.”

And she wanted for a moment to hold and devour him, wanted his mouth, his ears, his coat collar, wanted to surround him and engulf him…

“Winter will never come for the likes of us. Should we die in battle, they will surely sing of us, and it’s always summer in the songs. In the songs all knights are gallant, all maids are beautiful, and the sun is always shining.” — Brienne of Tarth

I’m a Bernie supporter but u all need to chill on calling him grandpa and a cinnamon roll and all that shit he’s still a politician you still need to be critical of him don’t fan girl over him that’s weird and I’m waiting for the “ur fave is problematic” post about him the way y'all glamorize him like he’s in a boy band or young adult novel turned film trilogy okay don’t put your full trust and adoration into him he has power he could be the president of the United States and not being critical of him is very not good okay always always always be critical of people in power no matter how much they align with your views you can’t trust politicians I’m sorry

Cinderella ( Aschenputtel ) by the Brother’s Grimm
During Aschenputtel’s wedding, as she was walking down the aisle with her stepsisters as her bridesmaids, (they had hoped to worm their way into her favour), the doves from Heaven flew down and struck the two stepsisters’ eyes, one in the left and the other in the right. When the wedding came to an end, and Aschenputtel and her prince marched out of the church, the doves flew again, striking the remaining eyes of the two evil sisters blind, a punishment they had to endure for the rest of their lives.
