As the brunette spoke, Gus started to flick through his phone and start looking for places to order. “Extra pepperoni, stuffed crust, right,” He nodded slowly. Gus tapped away and then a couple of minutes later, he looked over. “Half an hour.”

He’d…dropped his notebook from the tree he’d been sitting in. Again. Oops. Except this time, he’d heard an ‘ow’, or something like it. Double oops. Grimacing, Levi dropped from his place on a branch, and stood in front of whoever he’d dropped his stuff on. “My b, there was a squirrel being a total dick. You good?”

Gus frowned, rubbing his head as he watched someone drop down in front of him. “Um --- Yeah,” He grumbled. He slowly nodded before taking a breathe. “Were you just -- Sat up there doing shit? That’s fucking cool.”

“Thirsty work?” Candi couldn’t help but let her head fall back and laugh loudly. “I guess you can say that. Thirst from start to finish.” She teased with a small scrunch of her nose. “mm.. we should probably order pizza or something, with garlic knots.” 

“Oh for fucks sake,” Gus muttered under his breath. He shook his head, with a laugh coming out eventually. “I’m refusing to give you the satisfaction of that one,” He changed to shaking his head now. After taking a couple more sips of his of his water, Gus set the glass back down on the table. “Pizza would be good, I agree,” His eyes scanned around for his phone. Upon spotting it, he turned to Candi. “Anything specific?”

Hestia gave him a large smile. “Of course I’ll have fun! I’m going to be learning something new, with great company. Honestly, I may even just forget it’s for a thing and just an evening out with a friend.” She shrugged softly. “Of course, you’re welcome. I’m glad I could help.” 

“Oh yeah. The cameras won’t be there all the time or anything. I’m not gonna be shoving them in your face,” Gus explained. “Just the occasional clip. That’s all I need. Other than that, I do hope you have a good time,” He chuckled. “Well -- I’ll text you, yeah?”

Candi went about and got herself a little more comfortable as he headed out. When he got back he could move around her, or just move her to get himself comfortable. Sitting up she took the glass with a smile. “Thank you.” Candi could hardly get much of a drink in before she started to laugh a bit hearing him. “Camel much? “ 

Oh how he’d needed the water. It already made him feel far more refreshed. Gus looked at her with raised eyebrows.”Look,” He snorted. “Fucking is thirsty work, alright,” After setting his glass on the table, he held his hands up. “Just tryna get my energy back.”

It had taken an awful lot of planning to make the video happen, which was why he’d spent over twenty four hours at this point editing it. Gus didn’t do things by halves when it came to his YouTube channel. It either had to be perfect, or it didn’t go up at all.

This video especially - He wanted to make sure he got right.

The concept was to show people the weird, variety of ways they could have been spending Valentine’s Day. He’d persuaded a small portion of his female friends to join him on a variety of ‘dates’ - A pottery classes, a body painting workshop, a latte art class, a graffiti art class, a visit to a ping pong bar and a karaoke night.

After a brief introduction from Gus, the video consisted of clips from each date with Gus talking casually about the experience, what it was like, and whether he’d do it again. Also, whether it was actually practical for a first date.

The whole thing wasn’t really about the women he was on these ‘dates’ with. So, for the majority, their faces weren’t really shown and neither were they introduced. The only glimpse of them was perhaps their hands doing whatever they were doing on said date.

There was on exception to this rule however.

While talking about the body painting class, which Gus had attended with Amelia, she earned herself slightly longer features. Instead of simply showing her hands, Gus would occasionally let the camera hesitate on her smile, on her eyes, on her hair. There was no way he could let all that footage go unused. It’d have been sad to let the shots go to waste. 

They were beautiful.

The video finished with a montage of the dates, spliced between Gus talking to camera. Yet again, while all his other dates only featured in the form of their hands, Amelia was much more of a prominent guest. And then there was the fact that he’d stolen a picture from her Instagram for the cover photo.

“If it doesn’t up the ante from flowers, then I’d bin them off if I were you.”

“Of course, which makes plenty of sense.” Nodding she laughed softly. Rather Hestia was the most trustworthy person on the planet she could only imagine the sort of people he’d come across while doing something like this. “I don’t mind. I understand, I mean… you have to protect yourself at the end of the day.” Scrunching her nose she nodded. “I’ve never really… had the opportunity to much for the occasion, but I think dinner dates are a year round thing. You should most certainly step out of that box for Valentines Day.  I’m glad this is all a cause I can behind as well.” Nodding she took his phone. “Right, of course! That would probably help..” She said softly taking the phone and putting her number in. “There you are.” 

Gus chuckled. “Well I mean, I hope that you enjoy it. I know it’s for a thing but -- I still want you to enjoy yourself. It’ll be fun,” he smiled. Gus watched as she popped her number in. He glanced over it once before sliding his phone back into his pocket. “Thank you again, so much for this. Like --- Yeah. Thanks.”

Gus took a couple more breathes, after Candi moved to sit next to him, and then shuffled forward. He pulled his boxers on and then stood up. “Water it is,” As he walked into the kitchen, Gus stretched out his arms. It didn’t take him too long to fill up two glasses and then head back in. “Here.” He offered a smile. Gus passed Candi her glass and then collapsed back down onto the couch. One glug. Two glug. Three glugs.

It was still taking some time for Gus to properly catch his breathe back. “Hang out and watch movies more often? You can say that again,” He laughed lightly. “Shit, man,” Gus closed his eyes and took a couple of breaths. When he opened them, he placed a line of kisses across the top of Candi’s chest. “That was fucking good.” He gave a firm nod before running a hand through his hair. “Do you want some water? I need some water.” Gus looked to Candi. Finally his breathing was steadying.
