Hi. Today is #worldmentalhealthday and I just wanted to put a reminder out there that taking care of yourself is important. I wouldn’t be alive without therapy, meds, and a support system. Every day is hard. Even the days where you see me all smiles... still hard. Still mentally ill. Also it’s ok to have more than one diagnosis. Everything isn’t always encompassed by one diagnosis. It’s ok to have comorbid illnesses. It’s ok to have a personality disorder. It’s ok to have a mood disorder. It’s ok to have a trauma disorder. It’s ok to have an eating disorder. It’s ok to have an anxiety disorder. I have good and bad days. Some worse than others. Some better than others. But every day I’m living with my disorders. And I’m surviving. Even on my good days I still have DID, BPD, Anxiety and Panic disorder, cPTSD, OCD, and Depression. Yes all that. Yes I still function. But it’s also ok if you can’t function. I started to realize my old vape was burning the CBD oil, and even the regular juice. Left a bitter taste. So I switch to this pen from @o2vape and the difference is incredible. You can actually taste the flavors of the oils/liquid and there is little to no resistance when inhaling. Making it a much more pleasant experience. And it’s pretty. Happy SYSTEM PRIDE DAY! I don’t post much about my disorder on here but today is a day of awareness so here we go. I live with Dissociative Identity Disorder, meaning due to trauma in my past (don’t ask me about it because I don’t really remember ... due to amnesia related to the disorder....and it’s just plain rude to ask anyways) my brain never integrated as a child. It is both a mental illness (think of it like a High form of PTSD, and a neurodevelopmental disorder that MUST occur before the age of 9ish). (Usually happens by age 9ish forming a solid personality) my brain decided to use a coping skill called dissociation where it separated itself from the body making it feel like whatever was happening, happened to someone else. In doing that, the brain created multiple parts of consciousness, otherwise known as alters (and since it’s a coping skill it continues to create alters in times of trauma or stress) In my system there are three main adults, Myself /she (Kristina) /29, Kris /they/ 29, and Phoenix /she/ 18. two children, Jamie /he/ 8 and Bubbles /she/ 3 There is one fragment (not fully formed personality) I don’t know much about, all I know is she is a she, and she is an adult. But nothing more. So 6 of us that we know of. We live with this daily, are pretty covert with it, it is commonly a covert disorder since it’s supposed to be a protective coping mechanism you are supposed fly under the radar. Unless we tell you, you probably have never noticed a switch or noticed when someone else was out. You probably always thought it was Kristina. While much of the time it is me because I’m the main personality (host) there are times when it calls for someone else. We just won’t tell you (unless you are a close friend or we are comfortable with you knowing) If you are interested in knowing more feel free to leave questions or message me.
