Commander Week: Legacy
Kosdde barrelled through life - childhood in Hoelbrak, college in Rata Sum, winning Snaff Savant a year later - and then you know the rest. She never really had a moment to just sit and digest things in peace (gender crisis in school? It’s more likely than you think).
So she fears being used as a positive example for asura - like yeah ofc ur meant to work all the time uwu. She hates that and wishes she’d had more time… feels like she’s wasted her life orz
What do you think how Tyria will view your Commander centuries into the future? Will they go down in history as a positive figure, or will they become a cautionary tale? Is your Commander concerned about their legacy at all? What would they want to be known for most to future generations? Or would they rather not be remembered at all?

Prompt 7: Legacy
What do you think how Tyria will view your Commander centuries into the future? Will they go down in history as a positive figure, or will they become a cautionary tale? Is your Commander concerned about their legacy at all? What would they want to be known for most to future generations? Or would they rather not be remembered at all?
“Do you ever think about the future?” Lady Camilla asked as she gazed out across the Eye of the North. The workstations and services she had arranged to be built were coming along nicely. A few warriors mingled by the newly re-activated asura gate.
“Nah, I let Aurene handle that kind of stuff,” There was a clatter as Liana set the warm pan back on the side of the cooking station. “Here,” she handed over a freshly made mug of hot chocolate.
“Mmm, thank you,” Camilla took the mug and held it close, taking in the sweet scent and letting the heat warm her hands. “But, I was actually referring to your legacy. How people might view your deeds in the far future?”

Guild Wars 2 Commander Week
Day 7: Legacy
Vesper has no idea how the people of Tyria will view her in the future. She hopes she’ll be a beacon of hope for those who need it, but what if she’s seen as a villain?
More than anything, she wants to bring courage and hope to those who have none, to be a symbol of stability against the churning tides of time. She wants to be remembered, but as someone who always thought for what she believed was right, and to protect the future generations.
GW2 Commander Week
Day 7: Legacy
Sarafir rarely entertains the thought of how she will be perceived decades–maybe even centuries–down the line. When she does, however, she finds herself worrying.
She’s made countless mistakes. Gotten people killed. Failed innocents as much as she’s helped them. The sweet taste of victory has often been soured by all the failures along the way. Each time she loses someone, she once again questions her worthiness as Commander.
Yet her friends and family are able to pull her out of her melancholy.
They remind her of all the good she’s done. They assure her they don’t follow her out of obligation, but respect and faith. And they insist they’re not the only ones.
It’s in these moments Sarafir is given hope that she’ll be remembered as a flawed, but accomplished hero who stood her ground against her enemies; who saved whoever she could and enacted justice for the rest.
But whether history is kind or cruel, she’ll continue fighting until her last breath.
.:: GW2 Commander Week: RORY LITTLEARROW ::.
Friday, Day 5: Family (Rory and Braham)
Who does your Commander consider their family? Do they care about blood relations? Are their relatives still alive? What is or was their relationship with them? Do they surround themselves with friends that they consider their family? What is their attitude towards marriage and having kids of their own? Is family important to them at all?

1331 AE - Sun’s Refuge, before reigniting Balthazar’s sword
“I’m sorry for acting like a dolyak’s rear, Commander. Thanks… for not giving up on me.”
“You were grieving. People handle their grief differently, in any way they can. You don’t need to apologise to me, Braham.”
“Still. I acted as a moody teenager, it’s embarrassing.” Braham chuckles nervously.
“Don’t say that. I mean it.”
The two of them fall silent for a moment, quietly observing the comings and goings of the people in Sun’s Refuge.
“Do you have family, Commander? Parents?”
“No parents, but plenty of family.” Rory gestures to the surroundings. “All of you are my family, same as the members of my old Priory team.”
“Aw. How sweet.” Braham’s gaze wanders around Sun’s Refuge before settling on the Commander once more. “Did you keep in touch with any of your old team?”
“I do send messages when I can. It’s difficult now that we’re all dispersed throughout Tyria, but we have to stay close by any means we can. Especially after Claw Island.”
“The battle?”
“Yes.”
“Did you… lose someone close that day?”
“Yes.” Rory averts his eyes. “One of my old team. She was so full of life and eager to learn about absolutely everything. She had such a long life before her and she sacrificed it all to save Lion’s Arch.”
“I’m sorry. She must have been very brave.”
“She was.” He sighs. “That’s why have to keep in touch with the others, to give news, to tell them the adventures of that new branch of the family. That grumpy old man in the Priory archives would be so bored otherwise. And Alma… she actually might join us some time in the future, she’s very curious about the Crystal Desert.”
“You mean we’ll have the opportunity to talk to someone who knew you before and get some funny stories about you?”
“Don’t you dare ask!”
“Oh I would never!”
Saving Face
Secretly, Taimi was the true cool kid all along. The coolest of kids. Spoilers for lws2, lws1, and a violent, if non-permanent, death. Because this is how we do introductions.

Commander Week: Day 6 “Opposite Day”
What would your Commander be like if they were the opposite of how they are normally? Would they surround themselves with different people? Would they do things differently? Are people aware that they are acting differently in this scenario? What are their reactions? Maybe they’re playing a prank, or they’re drunk? This prompt is literally just to have some silly fun so go wild!
Decided to take a step out of my comfort zone and tried drawing one of the NPCs. Turned out alright :D
Tzurael and his twin, Caeshe, avoided drinking as much as possible thanks to an experience with the Nightmare Court when they were newly awakened saplings. It just leaves one too vulnerable when drinking in excess. However, after Joko’s defeat, Tzurael couldn’t say no to Canch’s invitation. He was stressed and needed a way to alleviate it and not to mention Canach said he was paying. As such, Tzurael’s inner turmoil was brought to the surface and his optimistic and strong-willed façade broke. It was a surprise to the older Sylvari since Tzurael always seemed to have himself well kept together but after seeing this, started to think otherwise. He brought Tzurael back to the quarters that Dragon’s Watch and the others were taking refuge in and was promptly yelled at by a belligerent Caeshe. Canach kept what he witnessed to himself but afterwards does try his best to alleviate some of Tzuraels’ burdens.
Hey guys!
Today is the last day of Commander Week, but definitely not the last day you can post your contributions!
I will continue to check the #gw2commanderweek tag and the blog mentions for the next week or so and reblog everything I find to the event blog. So if you feel like you’re too late or missed out, don’t worry: There’s still time! :D
I know time, energy and motivation are always a struggle for many people, and a week isn’t that much time and can be stressful if there’s a prompt a day for it. If I should host another event like this one sometime I’ll try to think of a way to give us all more time.
Commander Week: Day 5 “Family”
Who does your Commander consider their family? Do they care about blood relations? Are their relatives still alive? What is or was their relationship with them? Do they surround themselves with friends that they consider their family? What is their attitude towards marriage and having kids of their own? Is family important to them at all?
Tzurael obviously sees everyone in Dragon’s Watch his family and as such, always tries to find an excuse to give them gifts. No matter the reason. He sees Rytlock as a Father figure, Kas and Jory like his sisters/Aunts, Braham as a brother, Taimi a sister, and obviously Canach an older brother. He also has a podtwin, Caeshe, who he reconnected (physically and mentally) a year later and who became next in command if anything were to happen to him.
GW2 Commander Week: Family
In the Charr Legions, warband is family.
In the Charge Warband, it’s more than family.
Zinnhari Warcharger chose to kill his sire in combat, a choice that he regrets to this day, so he honors the father he never got to know by becoming a father to his warband. There’s always a spot at the dinner table for each member of his ‘band, and he loves every member with all he has to give. They’re all so familiar with each other that it’ll sometimes make other charr uneasy and it still surprises some of the aged members of the warband.
His ‘band doesn’t stop at just charr, either. Honorary members of the Charge Warband include most members of Dragon’s Watch, and especially Braham Eirsson. Braham has been “victim” to Zinn’s affections many a time, and Zinn likes to joke that Braham’s hair volume is a result of “fine charr grooming!” (Though he’ll deny it, Braham has called Zinn “dad” by accident. Taimi calls Zinn “dad” on purpose.)
If you’re truly close to Zinn, you’re not a friend. You’re a brother, a sister, a son, a daughter.
gw2 commander week part 3
day 3: free time
In his free time, Eridunis likes to do a couple things. He really likes to craft and take care of his home if he has enough free time–like days or weeks at a time. He lives in the Dreamer’s Terrace with Arkus and tend to both the plants on the topside garden of the house and their approximately 10 billion cats. He also notably built Legendary Sunrise and wields it occasionally (if you see me running around in-game, you’ll normally see him with it just because hello legendary haha). He also tracks some people down to say hello and catch up, like Logan–I imagine he’s probably still at Dragonfall? Have we heard from him since that episode?? In addition, he and Arkus try to spend a lot of time with Canach because they like him a lot, and Canach definitely needs more love right now anyway.
He and Arkus also travel a bit when they can and return to the desert to check on their home in Amnoon and visit with the refugees at various temples or locations to lend a hand on occasion, but they typically try to unwind together.
Also on occasion, Arkus might be working while Eridunis has free time, so Eridunis goes to the Priory on those days to bug him and distract him from his work lol
Shoutout to @gw2commanderweek for putting this together! I didn’t have time to do something every day and most of my characters technically fall under the commander umbrella, so I took some liberties with it.
Chandar was the Pact Commander for Zhaitan and Mordremoth, but his plans to retire tanked when Balthazar appeared. Despite the god’s fall, Chandar refused to step down and continued onward against Kralkatorrik and now Bangar. Concerns have been raised at how long he can continue.
Augur was a Pact Soldier who fought at Thunderhead Keep. She later fell in with the Order of Crystal Bloom, and after the battle at Dragonfall, took the position of Aurene’s guard. She relocated from Sun’s Refuge to Eye of the North to continue her duty.
Vepka, a Blood Legion scout, joined the Pact as it moved to Elona. Despite her skill, she was notorious for slacking off and getting distracted. Most of her time in Elona was spent “investigating” the palaces of Vabbi; and with Bangar’s uprising, she’s taken to “patrolling” Blood Keep - especially the mess hall.
Caesar was a lead scholar on the Risen, and later moved to Elona to look into the possibility of reversing Awakening. He went missing sometime after Balthazar’s death. It was assumed to have died… until he was spotted roaming Bjora Marches.
Idir joined the Pact to fight against Joko. He was the last of his family alive, and afterwards, moved to Divinity’s Reach, determined to put distance between himself and his past. He has taken to leading defensive operations, determined that no others would lose their families as he did.
Kuronn isn’t part of the Pact, but they’re familiar with him. He made the wrong deals with the wrong people and ended up an Inquest experiment on dragon magic in Sandswept Isles. After breaking out, he’s set out to sabotage the Inquest for their deeds and the Pact in revenge for not getting to him in time.
Falon was the planned successor to Chandar. When the Commander refused to leave, Falon continued his duties in Maguuma without complaint. However, as concerns about the current Commander rise, more and more have taken to following Falon’s lead.

Alistair - Day One: Origins
For @gw2commanderweek, the second of the two of my commanders that I’m doing the prompts for this week!
1325 AD, Following the events of the Human Commoner Storyline I hate to call in a marker, Captain, but I did help you when you needed it. Mind if I ask you to return the favor?
“Aren’t you a little young to be fighting centaurs?” It’s not an accusation—Alistair knows what those are like. Looking up from his drink to where Thackeray had settled in the seat next to him— “You say that when not five hours ago we just took down a corrupt Ministry Commander.” An eyebrow raise and a faint grin. “Your priorities are a bit mixed up there, Captain.” “Alistair Kerroway. 19–born in 1306 AD. Mesmer, working here–” Gesturing at the tavern around them. “At an inn. With your skillset.” “The Seraph has a dossier on me?” Blinking, because of course that’s his first thought. Logan shakes his head. “Anise’s work. You seem to have caught her eye.” Alistair sits back in his seat contemplatively. “Should I be worried?” Logan shrugs. “Why were you in Shaemoor?” “It was Petra’s birthday. I was picking up a package, and the shopkeep for the backpack I bought her worked out of there.”
“Your sister?” Alistair glances over at where the woman is working across the room. She looks up and waves with a smile. Returning in kind– “Ish. Her father, Andrew, took me in when I was fourteen and broke in, trying to sneak into their pantry after closing.” “Your parents–” Alistair shook his head. “Ah. My condolences.” “Not like I ever knew them. And Queen’s Heart is alright—but the Ministry won’t fund something that doesn’t suit their interests. Like orphans.” “So you’re self taught.” “You learn how to be sneaky fast on the streets. What can I say—Salma borders on the Lyssa Low-road, and I was inspired by the theatre productions there.”
“You’re certainly skilled. “ Then– “My apologies for the questioning.” For a Seraph, he’s at least kind. Admittedly, Alistair wasn’t really used to working with others—let alone crown-sponsored ones. “Curiosity isn’t a crime—at least not for the Seraph I understand.” Logan laughs—if a bit sharply. There’s a lull in conversation for a few moments. “What will you do now?” Alistair rolls his shoulders, grinning a bit smile sharp and determined.
“I was thinking of travelling south– seeing Queensdale.” He says, lightly. “Serentine and Big Nose Ted—they’re not the only bandit problems in the area. I don’t know about you—but I don’t like leaving a job half finished.”
Fiachwren - Day One: Origins
For @gw2commanderweek, one of two of my commanders that I’m doing the prompts for this week!
1304 AD, Following the events of ‘Meeting the Asura’
“Was she right?” The words echo in the soft twilight air of their mother’s den–somewhere between warden shifts where the caul of impending night made it easier to arrive unnoticed. “Do we mean that little to you?”
There is silence. She doesn’t know what she expected.
“You called us your children.” She continues regardless—if only to fill the emptiness with something. “Said that we meant the world to you–that you wanted us safe. But in the same breath, you told us it was our job to fight dragons. That being a Valiant was noble and just. That we were to set an example for others to do good.”
It was all in the interest of knowledge gained. You beings are an anomaly. It wasn’t personal. Being a Valiant had meant nothing to the Asura. They hadn’t cared about nobility or kindness. They’d cared about statistics. Science. Pushing boundaries—regardless of what they broke doing so. The teammates she’d lost were proof of it. The empty mender’s bed on the other side of the grove that Canach had abandoned in the middle of the night was proof of it. She looks down at her hands–where rough metal had dug into the bark and left angry scarring that glowed red from foreign magic. They hurt still, and they’re far from the only ones she has now. She was proof.
“I’m not asking for war with the Asura. For you to tell Cadeyrn that his violence is just and right. I’m not asking for unknowable answers to the ephemeral. I just…” Her voice cracks and the Omphalos chamber feels so cold then.
“Was she right? Caithe? That you only care about the firstborn?”
There is silence. Valiant Ailisinn closes her eyes. “I won’t do it.” Finally. “I won’t stay here and let them tell me that things will be okay. I won’t go out and tell people that this was justice. That this was kindness. And I won’t go out and be a valiant when the title means nothing. A tool to be used and discarded.” She turns to leave, pausing only for a moment– “I will not be a sacrifice for the Dream.” Silence follows in her wake.
GW2 Commander Week!
Day 6: Opposite Day
What would your Commander be like if they were the opposite of how they are normally? Would they surround themselves with different people? Would they do things differently? Are people aware that they are acting differently in this scenario? What are their reactions? Maybe they’re playing a prank, or they’re drunk? This prompt is literally just to have some silly fun so go wild!
Lemon honestly is so wild and energetic all the time if she were ever to be the opposite I think she would just end up sleeping all day, and everyone would be extremely concerned and confused
Champion
This is my (again) late entry for @gw2commanderweek! This time it’s about Sinéad’s relationship with her status as Aurene’s champion. She had a lot to learn and figure out, and not everything was a smooth sailing, mostly because of the dying part of the process.
I wrote Aurene’s dialogue Like That because I want to impart a sense that she’s not exactly speaking, but rather connecting with whoever she’s communicating with. Her voice booms in someone’s head very much alike any Dragon’s, but she’s kind enough to restrain that power and only talk in a chill way with her friends.
Mentions of @pact-mom-kyrie bc of course
Day 2: Champion How did your Commander feel about being chosen by Glint’s egg as its Champion? Were they excited? Honored? Concerned? How did the people close to them react to it? How is their relationship with Aurene, how does it develop? Did becoming Aurene’s Champion change them in any way, be it physically or mentally?
–
Champion!
Sinéad jumped awake, sitting up on her bedding and looking around for her warhammer. But upon examining her surroundings, she realized she was no longer in the middle of the Maguuma jungle. The fire was long gone, but embers still persisted on the nearby fireplace. The darkness wasn’t as deep in Hoelbrak, compared to the depths of the Heart of Thorns.
She rubbed her face, breathing in, and out. Right at the edge of her memory, she could recall unquiet dreams. Dreams about loss and death. Dreams she didn’t want to ponder about.
“Sinéad?” someone called; the groggy, deep, soothing voice of a sleepy bear. Sinéad glanced at the man beside her. She had almost forgotten his face in all that time away from home.
“Go to sleep, Sigfast,” she grumbled, getting up. “I’ll be back.”
He disobeyed, of course. As he sat up, the mess of bedsheets they had made untangled from his body, revealing the hardened muscles that contrasted so starkly with the face of a norn who was still young, yet no longer a teen. Sinéad sighed, defeated, as she walked towards the round window that dominated the cave Sigfast’s homestead was nested in.
