it's been a while but i'm finally back into knitting! i've recently made this Skyrim themed cardigan based on the landscape of Tel Mithryn and its surrounding views. this one was a lot of fun to design and get everything lined up!
knitted on 3.5mm, 4.0mm, and 5.0mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn
made this pair of 2x1 rib socks completely inspired by this beautiful sock! it was my first time seeing this type of construction detail, but after some researching online i found out that it's called a mini gusset short row heel and it is used to add a bit of ease over the instep. i thought what a great idea! (i hate it when some of my socks stretch out more over the instep). i couldn't find a pattern that used it but i did find these instructions, however these instructions are for toe up socks (ask me how i found this out lol). anyway i managed to figure it out for cuff down socks so i wrote my own rough and ready instructions below the cut if you're interested in using this technique

Abrreviations
SM = Slip Marker
BOR = Beginning of row
K = knit
RLI = right lifted increase
LLI = left lifted increase
SSK = slip slip knit decrease
K2tog = knit two together decrease
At the point you are done with the leg and ready to start the heel, start below.
Increase section
Assuming you are starting at the BOR, K half number of total cast on, place marker, work in pattern to BOR (place marker here if you haven’t already got one denoting start of round)
SM, RLI, K to marker, LLI, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, k to next marker, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, K1, RLI, K to 1 st before marker, LLI, K1, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, k to next marker, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, K2, RLI, K to 2 st before marker, LLI, K2, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, k to next marker, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, K3, RLI, K to 3 st before marker, LLI, K3, SM, K in pattern to next marker
SM, k to next marker, SM, work in pattern to next marker
SM, K4, RLI, K to 4 st before marker, LLI, K4, SM, K in pattern to next marker
Continue in established pattern until you achieve the amount of extra stitches you want
SM, K5 (or half number of new stitches minus one you’ve increased by), slip half no of original cast on to DPN (or other needle), 5 stitches (or half number of new stitches minus one you’ve increased by) remain on original needle before the next marker
Short row heel section
Work a short row heel with the stitches on your DPN (amount of stitches should be equal to half the total number of stitches you originally cast on)
Here is the short row heel guide I use
NOTE1: Once the short row heel is complete, you may need to pick up an extra stitch between either end to prevent gaps. You can decrease these out later.
Decrease section
NOTE2: If you continued the increases past the above instructed amount, the number in bold for you will be half the total the number of stitches you increased by, then continue decreasing in the established pattern. On the next decrease row, the next number of stitches to K before decreasing will be one less and so on.

At this point you should ideally be at the same amount of stitches you started with (half number of total stitches cast on), however if you picked up extra stitches as a result of eliminating gaps when joining the short row heel, you will need to work extra decreases to get back to half the number of total stitches cast on. I would recommend decreasing evenly at the centre as of the heel on the next round.

i meant to post this a few weeks ago, but i have recently finished this fingering weight double layered scarf. a bit of an endurance project, i think i started this in Autumn 2024 and have just been using it as a nice simple project in between more complex ones. i made myself one in red the previous year and swore i'd never do another scarf, let alone a fingering weight one, and then my husband asked for one in green... 😅
it's approx. 164cm long, and knitted on 2.5mm needles with CoopKnits Sock Yeah! yarn in colour Adventurine. i cast on the provisional cast on and then just knit one huge tube to desired length, then grafted each end with the kitchener stitch for those seamless ends.
Just finished my Morrowind themed sweater! Knitted using 4.5mm & 5.5mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn. The idea for this sweater came to me in a dream and I just had to create it. I chose to feature elements from the game that helped create some of my favourite memories of it. This was hands down the most fun project I've ever made!
The front panel was inspired by this wonderful artwork by hla-rosa
made the tsutsu bear for my parents dog but daisy likes it too :) i wanted to use undyed yarn for the bear - the only undyed yarn i had was some really nice sock yarn with 10% cashmere 🥲 hope its soft enough for him!

got the knitted moomin sock book for my birthday so i made the Sleepy Snorkmaiden socks! i modified the pattern to work with fingering weight yarn instead of DK yarn like the pattern calls for. it was also my first time backstitching so she's a bit wonky but i love them :)
