made this pair of 2x1 rib socks completely inspired by this beautiful sock! it was my first time seeing this type of construction detail, but after some researching online i found out that it's called a mini gusset short row heel and it is used to add a bit of ease over the instep. i thought what a great idea! (i hate it when some of my socks stretch out more over the instep). i couldn't find a pattern that used it but i did find these instructions, however these instructions are for toe up socks (ask me how i found this out lol). anyway i managed to figure it out for cuff down socks so i wrote my own rough and ready instructions below the cut if you're interested in using this technique
finally made some red cabled socks! i had the vision for these about 5 years ago 😅
I recently finished this Old School RuneScape Chambers of Xeric themed sweater for my husband. He gave me the idea for the theme so I charted and knitted this up!
Knitted on 4.0mm and 5.0mm needles, Yarn: Drops Nepal
i realised i never posted my Country Goose Sweater! Pattern is by Carol Huber, knitted on 4.0mm and 5.0mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn
i meant to post this a few weeks ago, but i have recently finished this fingering weight double layered scarf. a bit of an endurance project, i think i started this in Autumn 2024 and have just been using it as a nice simple project in between more complex ones. i made myself one in red the previous year and swore i'd never do another scarf, let alone a fingering weight one, and then my husband asked for one in green... 😅
it's approx. 164cm long, and knitted on 2.5mm needles with CoopKnits Sock Yeah! yarn in colour Adventurine. i cast on the provisional cast on and then just knit one huge tube to desired length, then grafted each end with the kitchener stitch for those seamless ends.
Just finished my Morrowind themed sweater! Knitted using 4.5mm & 5.5mm needles with Drops Nepal yarn. The idea for this sweater came to me in a dream and I just had to create it. I chose to feature elements from the game that helped create some of my favourite memories of it. This was hands down the most fun project I've ever made!
The front panel was inspired by this wonderful artwork by hla-rosa
i haven't made a sock in months and i feel like it's affecting my soul
recently finished the step by step cardigan and learned a new skill along the way: double knitted button band!
made the tsutsu bear for my parents dog but daisy likes it too :) i wanted to use undyed yarn for the bear - the only undyed yarn i had was some really nice sock yarn with 10% cashmere 🥲 hope its soft enough for him!
update: keith likes his new bear :)

hi! cool knits! are you finnish?
hello, and thank you! no i am Welsh 🏴
just finished these diving for pearls moomin socks from the knitted moomin sock book. i’m gonna be brave and try a cardigan next :)
got the knitted moomin sock book for my birthday so i made the Sleepy Snorkmaiden socks! i modified the pattern to work with fingering weight yarn instead of DK yarn like the pattern calls for. it was also my first time backstitching so she's a bit wonky but i love them :)
not been doing too much knitting lately as i've been super into Morrowind lol but i saw on one of Florence's videos that she was making these in yarn i have in stash so i just had to really
Pattern: Itty Bitty Berry socks by Stone Knits Yarn: Sock Minis by Lichen and Lace (Linen, Coral, Shrub)
well i guess i had to make them into mole slippers
made some slippers for my husband! they were supposed to be fully felted but my final measurements didn't come out the same as the pattern despite using the same yarn as the pattern suggests and matching gauge so i only felted them a little bit. i like that you can still see the knit texture though!
(the gauge said 15st per 10cm but made no mention of columns or rows, does that mean it's the same for both columns and rows?)
Pattern: Sandes Garn Nr 3 Doble tøfler / Double Slippers*
*i would highly recommend if you want to make these to check out Igne's Knitting Lab and petit vélo's youtube videos on the process of making these (especially if you do a turkish cast on modification) as the (free) pattern is bare bones to the max
