the way ouat’s production team tried so hard to make emma and regina appear as nothing more than reluctant friends feels ridiculously forced because the level of intimacy in their scenes is off the charts. for some reason they could always read each other well enough to know when something was not right, when there was something worrying them, when they needed comfort or containment. you could always notice the way their bodies angled towards each other when they shared a moment. there are scenes where you can see either emma or regina stuff their hands in their pockets or start playing with their coats or their own fingers to avoid TOUCHING each other. like, they really tried to make it seem like the chemistry wasn’t there when it was so obvious i’m going crazy
