It has been thrilling to throw events– from living room fundraisers to rock shows to letter writing events to stand up comedy nights– all over the US, and to see these events start under the banner of Recall Persky, but become cathartic, joyous, and deeply moving experiences for attendees over the course of the night. We have met thousands of incredible people.

i’ve been very displeased with events recently. Just because a certain type of heathcare isn’t directly related to everyone doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be included. You wouldn’t say that insulin shouldn’t be covered because not everyone has diabetes right? well the same goes for birth control(and its numerous reasons for use) and women’s healthcare in general.

Keeping my privilege in check thanks to these amazing cards by Fabiola Lara. All profits are going to Atlas DIY, a center for immigrant youth in Brooklyn, NY. I’m keeping one of these on my studio wall as a reminder of how fortunate I am. For me this isn’t about political correctness, it’s about understanding people, communicating better, and being an advocate for equality.
