Testing for trying to show water texture by paper cutting.
Nice approaching to spread tie and perfume.
I also Visited Camden and to see Regents Canal at same day. I found similality between Regents Canal and Dotonbori Canal(I realized Dotonbori is not river, it should be called canal). There are many markets food and canal. People enjoy water side with food. Can you imagine if you can swim with clean water in canal? And also there will be many exciting facility as well in Dotonbori. It would be nice!!
There is some similarity between Camden Regent Canal and Dotonbori river. Dotonbori River should be called Canal instead of river because of the wide length. I’m going to look at how it works the Regents Canal in the Camden and how people enjoy at side of Canal.

Osaka History of Museum tour movie. I visited here to know more history of Osaka. This museum is really fun and exciting because of a lot of minature model of middle age of Osaka's manners and customs. You can feel as if you had been transported through time to old age.
I walked around Osaka city for finding interesting logo and typoface.
"練” is one of famouse facility which gathering fashionable shops. This facility was revived by Mr Rokuhara who is changing old fashion house to trendy facility.

How it relates to bigger picture of your own area of expertise?
I am going to look up the logo, colour, poster, advertising way, and packaging which surrounding us then research what kind of design is most effective and suites for this Doutonbori project.
I realize that how concept making, process and research are important for design. Because all design must have some meaning and reason. I learnt in foundation course, if I cannot explain the process of my final piece that means the concept and quality is low. When I want to design something for Doutonbori, I should know about Doutonbori’s personality, character, and also the concept of the project more. Makoto Umebara is precious fundamental research and discussion with client. When He asked some design from client, he visits the client office again and again and tries the product many times. Then he gets perfect suitable design for them. I think research and testing is the key of successful design.
What is Doutonbori? What is the history of Doutonbori? What kind of town we want to re establish? We want to visit what kind of people? Why do we do 400th anniversary project? What is successful event in the world? How can we achieve to like the successful event?
. Logo design is significant when the project making shape. Doutonbori does not have any logo yet. Logo could be icon of the company, product, event and town. It plays an important pat of functioning of good images. We should make some logo of Doutonbori by 2015.
I am going to use the research skill, which I learnt in foundation course, and also to refer to my favorite designer’s thinking methods for Final Mjor Project.
What techniques and processes relate to my subject matter? Or what artist and designer work explore your subject matter?
For making successful event, Poster, Logo and also some packaging for promotional items and souvenirs are significant. I have many respectable and favorite designers. There are my represent favorite designers. Satou Kashiwa, Ryou Yamasaki and Makoto Umebara.
One is Kashiwa Sato. He is creative director. He designed a lot of logo and promotion way, for example UNIQULO, which is clothing company. UNIQULO was small cloth store in the past, but after Kashiwa made logo and did branding, the store spread everywhere in Japan and nowadays spreading all over the world. The Logo is simple but it has impact and easy to remember.
Ryou Yamasaki. He is landscape and community designer. I have seldom heard the community design. Community design is a one of action of regional vitalization with local people. He is trying to preserve local area or town which getting small population. He does not direct all of plan, just provide motivation to local people and trying to revival the town together. He said, the leading role is not a designer, that’s a local people.
Next designer is Makoto Umebara. He calls just “Designer” his self, not graphic designer or art director or something, because he believes designer is someone who solves something using design technique. He wants to develop local industry. He helps a lot of local industry and product which nearly dying out. He is doing packaging design fro the local food products mostly, but not only packaging design; he also thinks promotion. When the product is designed, it is going to be surely hit product. He always say, designer should be good accompanist for client.
These designers are doing logo design, poster design, landscape design and packaging design. Their design way has common point of development for everything. They change everything for good way through design. I also believe design has power of change everything better.
