Didn’t you watch the news I covered yesterday? Due to the IMF crisis, a total of 450,000 college students have taken a leave. They will lose out on an opportunity if we limit our openings only to college graduates. I’m not sure what talent we could find in that pool, but if it doesn’t matter, go ahead.

You’ll get better as you learn. Why are you under so much pressure? You haven’t even worked for a year. No, sir. I really have to do a good job. If I mess up, the educational requirements could be put in place again. Then people like me won’t even get a chance.

My friend asked how I learned to cook and the answer is I didn't. I know like 5 things about cooking and they are:

Always use more garlic than the recipe calls for

"Ehhh fuck it close enough" is a great measurement tool

Find like 5 recipes that you like, adjust them how you like them, make them until you hate them

Clean as you go

If a recipe is from a mommy blog, you will need more spices

I work at a humane society shelter, and this does happen occasionally. usually cats won’t “steal” the kittens, they’ll hear them crying and stick around and if a momma doesn’t come around they’ll take them somewhere safe and try to care for them

we recently had a very confused lady who called that her cat was trying to take care of an astounding 8 kittens and brought them in

the kittens were obviously malnourished, and we looked around her neighborhood and sadly found the dead mama, she got hit by a car

it’s a really useful thing that cats will do

sometimes the mom will just have gotten lost and will come back to try and find her kittens and so that can be frustrating, but considering how rough it is for stray kittens, it’s a lot better for them to be in a household and cared for where the parent cat can get guareenteed food and shelter

I can’t tell you how many abandoned kittens we find that can’t make it

it sucks a lot
