#Repost from #wildography @marselvanoosten ・・・ Most wildlife photography is done with long lenses, for obvious reasons. You don’t want to scare the wildlife away, and in case of predators, you don’t want to get eaten.
Yet I really wanted to get a wide angle shot of lions, so I came up with an idea. I attached my camera with wide angle on a monopod and then held it upside down from our jeep, almost touching the ground. I used a remote control to trigger the camera.
This reaction from the lion was not anticipated, and I did nothing to provoke it. Anyone who has photographed lions before, knows that they couldn’t care less. But for some reason this male didn’t like the clicking sounds coming from the grass, so it charged the camera. The camera survived, and I had to change my diapers. ©Marsel van Oosten | www.squiver.com
