Monster in a dollhouse | HALEB
There were actually no words for how quick things had changed for Hanna, how quickly things had gone from her being locked up to her being stuck in A’s dollhouse, but there was one thing for sure for the blonde girl, and that was that whoever Charles Dilaurentis was, he was seriously messed up. Two things had shocked her the most lately, number one being that Mona was in fact alive after all. Her once upon a time best friend. And two, apparently she was still pregnant, and she hadn’t had Talia and that confused her. Her head had began to go round in circles, and not only that, but her room was actually in the dollhouse. A had made a complete replica of her bedroom, everything to a T except that her photos were blank, there were no faces, just empty frames and in her mind, that felt like the girl had never made any memories. Hanna would lay there and just long to see Caleb’s face, she longed to be in his arms, she longed just to hear him whisper that he loved her in her ear. She wouldn’t sleep, it would take her what felt like hours in this place, but it was timeless in here. She didn’t know what time it was, or how many days had passed. She tried to count how many times she woke up, but she didn’t know if it was light outside, she didn’t know anything.
Her eyes had began to open and as they adjusted, she groaned, she was still stuck in this prison. As she sat up a voice spoke, and her orbs looked up to the camera that was constantly gaining footage of all the girls in their cells which was what they all thought of them. “Hanna, please follow the lighted pathway.” Her bedroom door opened, and she sighed. at the moment, her hand moved to her stomach which was enlarged, and she felt her mind flash over memories which seemed to me fading. A had tried to make her forget. She was positive she had, had her baby girl, but her stomach said otherwise. “Hanna, please follow the lighted pathway.” The voice yet again repeated, she finally got up, she didn’t want to be in trouble again, not with Charles being as vicious as he was. She walked out her bedroom door, her clothes clinging to her stomach. The lights were leading her to Charles’ game room and she felt her stomach turn, that was all she needed, she couldn’t play another game, not today, not after the ones that he had made them all play already. She ended up in the game room and the noise signaled that there was mail, and as she opened it, there was a huge envelope that had her name on it. “Please take your gift and return to your bedroom.” The voice spoke, she nodded, as if answering the voice and walked off back to her room, before sitting down on her bed, and crossing her legs. her eyes scanned the brown envelope with curiosity. Using her nails to open the end of it, she let it’s contents fall onto the bed, and the first thing that came face to face with her was a funeral booklet, and the name that was on it, made her sick to her stomach. “Are you kidding me? You’re fucking lying to me Charles.” On the programme there was the name ‘In loving memory of Caleb Rivers, Died tragically June 15th 2015, son of Jamie and Claudia, boyfriend of Hanna, and brother.’ She felt sick, surely this was a joke, it had to be. Her hand sifted through the other contents, her blue eyes let out tears as she dropped the programme onto her bed, and grabbed the folded up news paper, her eyes landed on the headline. ‘Rosewood teen found dead just weeks after his girlfriend goes missing’ Her stomach turned, and she let out a scream, there was a picture of a car wreck on the front, and she felt herself become sick. She began pounding on her bedroom door and screaming. “Let me out!” She cried, “Let me fucking out, or I swear to god I’ll kill you, you bitch. I need to be with him. I need to be with Caleb.” She screamed, she was way past the point of hysterical, Hanna couldn’t stop herself from screaming. Eventually her banging on the door died down and she ended up in a fetal position on the floor, crying, she just couldn’t stop herself.
Caleb died without her there, he died without her knowing how much she loved him, without meeting their baby, and now she’d have to be alone and have this baby in here, in this prison. He died and she hadn’t told him how much he meant to her or how much it meant because they were getting their happy ending. Her mind began going over memories, of him laughing or him when they felt their baby kick. She could hear him so clearly in her head telling her he loved her. “My Caleb.” She whispered to herself, as she laid there, unmoving and just crying herself to sleep. She would never forgive herself, she should have made him leave. This was all her fault, it was all her fault because if she hadn’t made him be with her then he never would have been involved with A. He would have been alive and safe and she bet now that Claudia and everyone blamed her. She let her words leave her lips.
“I love you so much Caleb, I hope you know that, and I’m so sorry.”
“Stop crying.” He voice pleaded with desperation. “Please stop crying.” The little baby in his arms wouldn’t stop, he’d tried everything – feeding her, changing her, burping her, giving her favourite stuffed animal that he had picked out for her the day they’d found out they were expecting a little girl. He’d tried putting her down in her cot, sitting down with her across his chest (which was her favourite place to sleep) but Talia was having none of it. She wanted Hanna. Every cry that the girl gave was like a pine for her mother to come home, as if she knew what the prevailing circumstances were. Hanna had been missing for three weeks, and things weren’t getting any easier. “I know you miss her. I miss her too, but we’ll get her back. I’m trying my hardest.” He told the baby, as if she understood every word that he was telling her. Caleb never stopped talking to her, it was something that Hanna had always said about, talking to her would help with her development. Talia was his world and he was going to be the best father that he could be to her, especially if – he didn’t want to go there. “Come on, baby girl. Let’s get you that bottle, hey? I bet you’re hungry.”
He walked into the kitchen and picked up the bottle of milk that he had already heated up before going back through into the living room to sit on the couch with her.He had her so that he was holding her with her head in the crook of his arm, the rest of her body supported by him. Feeding her was one of his favourite things to do, even if she wasn’t as keen on being bottle fed than having Hanna. He offered her the bottle and chuckled when she instantly began to start sucking on it. “Is that better?” He grinned down at her, watching the sight of her concentrated face as she was sucking on the milk.
Caleb's thoughts were diverted when he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. Instantly he reached to get it out. Maybe Ashley was texting him news of Hanna – maybe the police had actually done something useful, but he doubted it. The second he saw the blocked I.D symbol on his phone his face drained and he prepared for the worst. “How does it feel knowing you failed her? – A” His heart fell to the depths of his chest when he opened the attachment and the image. Hanna looked pale, a sheet over her body. It almost looked as if she was dead, but he refused to believe it. This was – A probably playing with his mind, wanting him to believe the worst outcome possible, because it was all part of A's game. He wouldn't believe anything until he was face to face with a body. His phone vibrated again with a new message and a new attachment. “What a shame she was taken away with such deviating news.” There was a picture of a fake newspaper with 'his obituary' which flipped to a video of Hanna screaming. It didn't take him long to figure that A had tricked Hanna into thinking he was dead, exactly like A was trying to do now. “Oh my god.” He whispered as the final attachment showed up, a picture of a letter handwritten by her. He could feel his heart sink into his chest, every word that she wrote cutting through his skin like a knife. She really did believe he was dead. Tears began to spring in his eyes.
“I'm going to find you, Hanna. I'm going to save you from this psycho. Whatever it takes, I promise.”
