              this wasn’t something that they’ve really talked about before. actually, they haven’t spoken about much of anything before, if she gives herself a moment to think about it. she doesn’t know if he has a girlfriend that he might be talking about -- or maybe some girl that he fancies and was finding it hard to commit. either way, she has to agree -- giving a nod of her head in response.

"Mornin'." A pair of garden gloves land on the table in front of Sage, "You still interested in helpin' me in the field?"

Rick could use all the help he could get. For whatever reason, the folk in the prison seemed hellbent on avoiding the labor of farmwork. It's as if they thinn walkers might sprout of the ground instead of the much needed food Rick is hoping to grow.

With a hopeful smile, he locks eyes with Sage and jerks his head in the direction of the cellblock exit, "Meet me out by the fences if you're really up for it."

Clearly, he's expecting to be left on his own again, but he doesn't make a fuss about it. He simply tucks his own pair of gloves into his back pocket and turns heel with the intent of wasting not a single hour of the beautiful day light.

            --- oh,  right,  she had promised yesterday that she’d head out and help him in the fields, hadn’t she? ... it wasn’t that it was particularly difficult work, though it was still one of her least favorite chores to attend to. call her whiney, but it was hot out there. dirty, obviously,  so she’d jump on the opportunity to do.. hell, laundry, clean around the prison itself, preferably work on whatever contraptions that may need tending to, the weapons primarily, but there was only so much of that to be done before she’d run out of things to do.

            instead of opting out of working around the prison entirely, she takes rick up on the offer of farm work. sage grabs hold of the gloves and gives him a polite smile back when he looks at her. there’s a moment after he leaves where she considers not following after him, just pretend that he never showed up and continue on with her day. but, hell, he left the damn gloves -- and they serve as a reminder that he’s out there in the heat waiting for some help. 

            she expects at least a couple more people out there helping. when she sees none, she’s grateful she came. it would’ve been a bitch trying to get this done all by himself, and it’s commendable he seems to be trying.

          there wasn’t any part of sage that believed he wasn’t aware of the effects he had on her. though she lets him go -- hand trailing down his arm to eventually meet his chest. the smile falters slightly when he mentions going up together, the idea of having holly take hold of him makes her nervous -- though she doesn’t voice this, instead, hands grab hold of the fabric of his shirt, keeping him close while she continues to smile back at him. ❛ yeah -- alright, alright. i’d really like for ya to stay the night. ❜  honestly, it was easier to fall asleep in his arms, though she’d never voice that to him. she liked the events that led up to a good nights sleep a lot more anyway. ❛ you promise to behave yourself? ❜  she doesn’t particularly care to wait for an answer, nodding her head for him to follow before she starts leading him up to her room. ❛ stay quiet, if she’s here, she’s probably sleepin’ by now. ❜
