Pet // A drabble for Jongin/Kai

Haha was a man child who felt the need to play with every stray dog that set its paws on Main Street. But something was different today. 

It was pouring rain, the worst rainfall in weeks. Haha was rushing home, hoping to plug up the leaks that probably flooded his rickety home. Something caught his eye. It was a cardboard box; with "puppies" written in messy black marker. Haha raised his head to see an old man sitting next to it in a chair, patiently waiting. He stumbled to a stop next to the box, examining the inside. There laid one small golden retriever, curled up and shivering, its thick fur dampened. Haha felt a surge of guilt. He learned how to harden his heart, but the poor thing was getting to him. He sighed as he pulled out a chocolate bar to exchange. The old man nodded and accepted the offer, letting Haha hold his new puppy.

It sneezed, which he found adorable. As cute as it was Haha knew he couldn't keep it alive for very long, he was a busy man, he couldn't feed it or play with it.

In the mist of crisis, he noticed a man was standing next to him. He jumped back, startled by the young man's sudden appearance.  

"You scared the living living daylights outta' me!" Haha yelled. Kai bowed apologetically.

"Sorry hyung-nim." he quietly replied.

"I see you bought the last puppy."

A hint of sadness was detected in Kai's voice. Was he going to get buy this puppy? Haha thought. The next few moments were spent making small talk, Haha letting the man pet the golden retriever's slick fur.

The mechanic remembered his flooding home, and placed the puppy in the other man's arms. Kai was surprised, giving Haha a wide eyed look. Giving gifts in Zone X was very rare. 

"You're giving this to me?" he asked.

Haha nodded and ran past him.

"Yeah sure kid! Take good care of him!" Haha called out as he kept running.

Before Kai could get in another word Haha had already disappeared in the distance. He shrugged, petting his new puppy in a soothing manner.

Maybe this rainy day wasn't so bad afterall.

Cook // A drabble for Jungsuk

"I'm sure it's still fine. You try it to see if it's okay."

"You're the one that put all that spice in hyung." 

Haha had become acquainted with Jungsuk at the border of Zone X, so well acquainted that Jungsuk decided to pick him up and drag him to his place when he fainted at the sight of a clicker.

By the time the mechanic woke up it was already afternoon, and the patrol officer was already half way done cooking his supper. Haha had wandered off the other's broken down sofa and sat down next to the fire that kept the meal alive. His eyes open wide, It was his first time he'd seen a decent meal in awhile.

A rich stew consisting of a few vegetables and chicken. A five star meal here in Zone X. He turned to Jungsuk, who was stirring the stew with a broken metal spoon. "Woah! This looks great!" Haha childishly exclaimed.

Jungsuk looked back, giving Haha a small grin. "The perks of being a farmer." he simply added.

Looking out the window, Haha saw what he meant. A few meters over was a small green house, a few tomato plants peeking over its windows. Jungsuk had easier access to the plants, therefore, could afford not to eat disgusting military rations all the time.

Haha noticed a small container of spices next to the fire, and took ahold of it. He glanced at Jungsuk once again.

"I think this will make the soup less bland." he convinced.

Jungsuk stopped his stirring. "I was planning to add that. You go ahead." he replied nonchalantly.

"Good." Haha tipped the container into the stew, but realized not much powder was coming through the small holes. Out of frustration he shook it violently; and the cap came off; dumping the entire contents of the container into the stew. Haha gasped, and the younger man shot him a angry look. The perfect meal, was ruined over the course of five seconds. He stretched his lips into a nervous smile.

"I'm sure it's still fine. You try it to see if it's okay." Haha encouraged.

Jungsuk frowned. "You're the one who put all that spice in hyung."

Haha stared back at the pot. This was the man who saved him from being torn apart by a clicker, surely he could take one for the team and test out some spicy stew. He opened his mouth, letting out an audible "Ah~". Jungsuk dipped the spoon in the liquid, and placed the spoon in Haha's mouth.

"AH! IT'S HOT!" Haha hollered as he proceeded to flail and run around the small room.

Jungsuk couldn't help but chuckle at the sight, it was Haha afterall.
