Idk why people hate on fictive head mates so much. They make sense, DID is the result of childhood trauma, and maybe that child has a favorite tv character that makes them feel comfortable and safe. If the mind splits into multiple personalities, why wouldn’t that child’s mind create a personality just like that fictional character that makes them feel calm? Fiction helps all of us escape, and people with fictive alters probably majorly benefit from having someone there that they are familiar with and have adored by watching their show or reading their book.
