Can I ask why do you decided to add John into this Dirkroxy dynamic at all? Dont get me wrong, but I liked to think your way of portrait dirkroxy was always meant to be a hit against gender normative rules, a constant contradiction against genders and how it can be shaped, that's what Roxy is like, right? And then there's Dirk who is aware of that and knows Roxy is a man and accepts this defense against what's supposed to make one a male or a female, but then adding John is kind of like the opposite of that? John is a contradiction to all of this since hes a cis male who isn't into the complexity of gender or anything debatable in general, I dont think John is capable of understanding this concept entirely and he would crudely still think of Roxy as a women since he's been mostly shown to date/like those who lean more against female stereotype, his characters is meant to live in the ignorance since it's part of him, John there is genuinely taking all the stuff your dirkroxy was meant to be, I hope this doesn't come as rude since I love your art and respect your thoughts and I will drop the subject specially if is a "doing it for fun" kind of thing, but I think dirkroxy was better when this was applied to argue against the ignorance of gay males who kept saying males can't romance transgender man either because of their biology or the misogynist rule of masc x masc
the assumption john is a cis male that leans towards being het is just false though. dirk can learn a lot about gender and sexuality from roxy, and so can john. i think roxy is the reason june happens at all. just sayingg.
if youve seen my previous posts, john is bigender in my head. I also like seeing him as genderfluid. i also have been a june fan for a while. The only reason i havent gone full june is that im afraid people will think its weird im shipping dirkjune but...le sigh. time to stop giving a gaf.
