Jeong hadn’t actually taken Clovis’ grunt as something to ask about. Even if he had been referring to himself, the statement was likely vague enough to bring up something in the other teen that he would have likely rathered keep at the back of his mind. That was something he wasn’t going to touch on. Good going, idiot. You probably pissed him off…
He’d had to take his time ordering his food to hopefully allow the awkward air to clear…Clovis’ slow start to his next question hadn’t done too much to ease that worry…at least it wasn’t about what he meant…though really, was it that hard to figure out? “What do you mean what’s up with my accent?” The boy asked, quirking a brow. “I’ve…never really heard someone speaking Spanish the way you do, man. Everyone I was ever around spoke like…well….like me.” He shrugged.
“But yeah, uh…I kinda figured it was ‘cause you spoke it secondary, but…Did your dad take classes, or is Spanish his first language? ‘Cause I know back in grade school, I knew a coupla gringos that spoke kinda like you did, but…they weren’t really fluent OR spoke it as a first language, so…” He shrugged again. “Your dad from Kalos or somethin? I got relatives over there that speak Spanish weird too, according to my mom?” He didn’t really know. Honestly, he’d been grasping at straws, and…frankly felt like he was making an ass of himself. As the attendant behind the counter brought them their drinks, Jeong quickly reached for his soda and took a long sip. “Donno, man, I’m…pretty stumped.”
“Secondary?” Clovis repeated, blinking. “I said I learned it alongside English, didn’t I?” He tilted his head in thought, trying to recall. He was certain he’d said that....oh well. “And....well, we did live in Kalos for a bit, but, uh....I mean, for the most part my dad’s Spanish, born and raised.”
He cracked a somewhat embarrassed smile, rubbing the palms of his hands on his knees. “Ah, well. Sorry, it was a weird question, I get self-conscious about the accent sometimes,” he admitted, chuckling shyly and putting a hand over his mouth. He could tell that the conversation had gotten a tad awkward, and...he supposed he shouldn’t have been so sensitive about that comment. The comment hadn’t even been directed at him, it was just...it’d caught him off guard. He liked Jeong well enough so far, and he wanted to keep the conversation going, so if he had to push himself to talk, then he’d gladly do it.
“Oh, hey, different question,” he piped up as Jeong sipped his soda, “do you like arcades ‘n stuff? Or like, video games in general?”

Jeong had to grin. Of course it was delicious. He was the one ordering it. “Nah, man. See, that’s not demanding. That’s knowing what ya like. Demanding is…uh…” He screwed up his face for a moment in thought, but in the next, it was high-pitched and nasally, as if mocking some unruly customer. “I want my food all separate! And don’t let it touch or else it’s ruined and I need three slices of naruto on the top of my ramen, all in the one, two, and three o’ clock position, nyeh nyeeeeeeeeeeh! THAT’S demanding. Me? I’m pretty much just more money in their pockets. A little more complicated of an order, yeah, but I’m not so picky that I’d give ‘em grief for it.”
Jeong shrugged and gave another small laugh. He was going to comment on Clovis’ accent being weirder than his own, but the other boy’s disdain for the assignment caused him to lose that train of thought completely.
When Clovis was done, Jeong simply blinked at him twice before shaking his head. “Don’t apologize dude, you’ve got a…a really good point, actually.” Sure, he hadn’t put that much thought into it, but that was because he supposed these stupid projects were always done with Chloe, and the two of them loved showing each other off as much as they liked teasing each other. But the way Clovis said that there was more to him than just a list made him feel…weird. A good weird, mind, but maybe that was him taking it too personally. He did that a lot, especially when…Jeong shook his head again. No, man. Too early for those kinds of thoughts. Maybe when the Death Arcana was actually a relevant term huh? No need, getting attached to this guy so easily, Mister Heart-On-Your-Sleeve…
“I mean, it’s not like remembering shit about you’ll be too hard. You’re a pretty cool dude! Stupid as this assignment is, we got to talk, so that’s a plus! But, yeah. You’re right. No one really likes this assignment. It usually just kind of reminds you how you don’t actually have any real friends someti—” He cut himself off. Didn’t we say none of that?? “mes…And it’s not like we won’t get to know these people over the year. They’re in our homeroom. Of course, we’re gonna know them later.” Jeong made a face and laughed quietly, rubbing the back of his neck. “But, yeah, we should actually, uh….order our food before they kick us out for loitering, heh…”
Don’t actually have any real friends sometimes? Clovis winced again at that, not out of pity for Jeong, but because the statement had struck a nerve. Clovis was well aware that he was friendless, and he’d always felt that there was a bit of...distance between him and Seth, especially ever since that fiasco. He made a grunt of agreement, eyebrows knotted slightly and jaw tight as he turned back to the table. “Oh, yeah...we probably should,” he nodded, when Jeong mentioned ordering.
He waved one of the assistants over and ordered himself his ramen, taking a moment to collect himself properly while Jeong asked for food. “So....” he started slowly once they’d left, “What’s up with your accent, anyway?” He finally looked back at Jeong, now looking curious, almost as if they hadn’t just talked about how upsetting the assignment was.
“I mean....don’t get me wrong, I guess I’m the weird one here, speakin’ Spanish with a lisp. I don’t exactly hear anyone else who speaks Spanish do so in the accent I have, but like....my dad always tells me that the way we speak it is the ‘correct’ way,” he shrugged, confusion flickering across his face. “I figured no one else started out speaking Spanish so that’s why they butchered the pronunciation so hard, but....” He trailed off, eyes wandering to the table and back to Jeong in thought, almost hoping that Jeong had the answer.

Jeong couldn’t help but laugh at Clovis’ joke. “I blame Chloe for a lot of shit, so that’s nothin’ new!” So he had a best friend too? …Of course he did. Clovis seemed like a popular guy. Was it that blonde dude he was talking to before they left school? Maybe. What kind of people did Clovis hang out with, he wondered…
As they sat, Jeong nodded. “Yeah! Hah, dude you get me. There’s surprisingly not many Spanish speakers down here, so when I talk to my little sister, people sometimes look at us like ‘what are they taaaaalking abouuuuut’! It’s so funny.” Didn’t help that he’d occasionally thrown a glance at someone random during their conversations.
The teen nodded at Clovis, however. “I come here a lot, so Mako’s got a pretty good idea of what I want. Tonkotsu with extra chashu, two eggs, extra leeks and extra fishcake. It’s heavier..and there’s more, but I eat a lot anyway. And…another reason why I said I’d pay. I got expensive tastes.” He gave Clovis a wink and a small laugh before allowing it to die down. “…You know, We haven’t been writing anything down at all…” Weren’t they supposed to be doing that stupid assignment? Bah. Jeong just liked talking to Clovis.
“That sounds delicious,” Clovis grinned, hearing Jeong’s order. “Wow.....I’d never be able to get that creative with my orders. I’d feel too demanding,” he chuckled sheepishly. “I think I’ll just go with the spicy miso and extra chashu...”
He hummed and tilted his head when Jeong mentioned the whole deal with the assignment, then shrugged. “Eh, taking notes on someone makes me feel like I’m observing...I dunno, a mouse or something. Don’t worry, I’ll remember the stuff about you,” he smiled. “Has a sister, cooks stuff, dances, expensive tastes, Black City...oh, and how could I forget the Spanish?” He chuckled giving Jeong a playful nudge with his elbow. “Your accent’s weird, by the way.”
“Oh! But, if you wanna take notes then go ahead,” he added quickly. “Do what you gotta do, man, I’m not stopping you,” he nodded politely. “Personally, I think it’d be better if we just talked and stuff, y’know? More natural that way, and not just like...a list.” He rolled his eyes subtly and swiftly at that, then all but crossed his eyes and started to speak in a mocking tone. “My partner’s name is Jeong and he likes to cook and dance and has expensive tastes and he used to live in Black City and he has a sister and he speaks Spanish and while I’m at his his favorite color is bleh and his favorite food is bluh and imagine how is touch the sky nyeeeeeeeeegh.”
He threw up his arms a bit, shaking his head and rolling his head back a little. “Ugh, sorry, I actually really don’t like when teachers do this,” he huffed. “It’s like...writing about a person doesn’t do them justice, y’know? Literally, all I’m gonna be doing is making a list in paragraph form and I hate it,” he grumbled. “There’s so much more to a person than a list of attributes. There’s so much more to you than just....a list!” He sighed again, and turned towards Jeong. “Er....sorry bout that,” he winced. “Didn’t mean to go off like that...”

“I can’t do this, Chloe.”
“Not with that attitude you can’t! C’mon, Clovis, don’t you want to impress Jeong?”
Clovis, who had been laying on the floor of the dance room, sat up in a flash and spluttered, face red. “Wh-what makes you think this is about Jeong!?”
Clovis sighed and rolled her eyes, giving him an amused smile. “Oh, right, I’m sorry, you’re right. It’s not,” she replied, voice dripping with sarcasm.
“It’s not!!!” Clovis whined.
“Okay, okay,” Chloe chuckled, shaking her head. She held out a hand, to pul. him to his feet. “Then, why’re you doing this?”
Clovis eyed her hand as if it were a trap, then took it tentatively and, with her help, stood up. “….I thought I could incorporate it into colorguard stuff. Y’know, so I’m not doing ballet with flags and swords and guns.”
“Alright, I can respect that,” Chloe smirked. “Okay then, let’s get back into gear. We’ll have your tush wiggling attractively for Jeong in no time!”
“CHLOE!!”

(( Oh god which one I’ll just assume you mean PAC:B :’’’D ))
Clovis wasn’t quite sure when he’d fallen for Jeong Yi.
All he knew was that it’d happened gradually, and that he was currently laying on Jeong’s stomach as they watched a movie together. That, and that they were also not dating.
“Hah!” Jeong laughed suddenly, snapping Clovis out of his muddled thoughts. “Man, look at how that guy’s dressed! What a disaster, are you seeing this?”
Clovis squinted to see a guy in neon green shorts and a red shirt near the corner of the screen. He only managed to see him for a split second before the scene cut away to a different shot, but at least he knew what Jeong was talking about. “Wow, my eyes are scarred for life,” he smirked, letting out an amused ‘hmph’ through his nose. “Hey, I feel a bit peckish, do you mind if I heat up that popcorn I brought over?”
“Go ahead,” Jeong nodded, though he also seemed a bit disgruntled.
Clovis supposed that he was probably a little upset that he couldn’t show off his cooking skills. He grabbed for the backrest of the sofa, and the two boys shifted positions so that Clovis could get up and wouldn’t be putting so much pressure on Jeong in doing so. Clovis was faintly aware that he heard what sounded much like a fart, and his automatic reaction was: “Nice.”
“I know it was,” Jeong replied with what seemed to be a smug smile, but Clovis liked to think that it was probably masking embarrassment.
Clovis just chuckled and shook his head a little before standing up, stretching his legs for a moment before he got walking. He nabbed the popcorn packet from his backpack, walked to the kitchen, and stuck it into the microwave.
He sighed, now that he had a moment to himself. Shit, even Jeong’s farts were cute. This was absolutely and utterly unfair…..

Jeong nodded, his smile becoming tinged with a slight nervousness as Clovis admit that it wasn’t the direction of his home. Oh. Uh…well, then. It was good that they’d reached the ramen shop, because Jeong had been…quite close to offering to walk Clovis home instead. “Is it really that far into the country over there?” He asked, opening the door for Clovis before following the other in as he let out a small chuckle. “There always is somethin’ interesting going on in Black City though, I’ll admit. Food’s also pretty good, but, uh…I donno. I prefer the food here!”
If Clovis paid attention, he would have noticed the very small, uncomfortable twinge of Jeong’s brow when mentioning his hometown…but he was quick to switch gears, shrugging at his question, so probably not. “It woulda been cool if we got to ride a horse down here, though! And I donno how! What class were you in last year? I know I spent a lotta time with my best friend last year since she was the only one besides my sister that I knew…” Jeong shrugged. “Better late than never, though, right? It’s nice, making a friend that I can make jokes with that only he gets!” Jokes being…what, Jeong? Despite the small grin on the teen’s face, that small panic in the back of his mind had been telling him he’d been moving a bit too fast. Hadn’t even finished a meal with him and he was already a friend?
Not clingy at all.
“Mmmmmmhm,” Clovis grunted in response to Jeong’s question about the location of his boring hick hometown. He gave a small, polite bow when Jeong opened the door for him, muttering a thank you before heading in. “Really? City food seems so nice, though...” he thought aloud.
“Ummm, I was in Class 1-2,” he replied distractedly as he scanned the area for a place to sit. He spotted a couple of nice seats at the bar surrounding the kitchen, then looked at Jeong. “Well, whatever! I spent a lot of time with my best friend, too. We can just blame them,” he chuckled.
A tiny bit of Clovis’ heart fell, though Best friend? She? And they hung out all the time??? Well....there went any chances he had, he supposed. ...Whatever, it wasn’t as if he really thought he had a shot. He was content to just make a new friend......yeah...............
As he walked to the seats, he looked behind him and tilted his head at Jeong. “Jokes that only...oh, you mean the Spanish stuff!” he grinned, putting his backpack onto the floor with a heavy ‘fwump’ and hopping into the stool with ease. “Yeah man!” he beamed, “It’s like, holy shit, I can make Spanish puns and someone’ll actually get it! Or better yet, we can look like we’re talking smack, but in reality we’ll be talking about....I dunno....uhhhh....” He faltered, eyes roaming around as he tried to get his words to keep up with his brain. “Ramen, I guess?” He let out a short laugh to wave away his embarrassment, and shook his head.
“You know what I mean though, right? Uh, anyway...what do you recommend here?” he asked, looking up at the menu curiously. “I usually just shoot for Spicy Miso with extra chashu. Plain, but really good,” he smiled earnestly. “What about you?”
Our dumb boys in pacsona :3c
When Jeong had thought about his first kiss, he didn’t…exactly think it would be like this…
He didn’t imagine his hands wiping away someone else’s tears as he’d tried to get them to stop crying. He hadn’t imagined pressing his lips gently to their foreheads and telling them how much they meant to him. He didn’t imagine them moving from their forehead and down to their stained cheeks, then their lips and staying there for much longer than he thought he should have.
…He didn’t imagine that his first kiss would be with…a guy.
And when Jeong pulled back, he couldn’t imagine the fear and disgust welling up in Clovis’ chest at what he’d just done.
“I…I’m…I-I’m so sorry, I don’t know what I—” Jeong stammered, staring at the shorter boy as he’d slowly pulled hands away from his shoulders as he let out a shaky breath. “I..I’m…I’m sorry, Clovis, I don’t…I figured I…f-fuck, I shouldn’t have…” The boy continued to pull away, but was stopped by a hand on his wrist, and a look from Clovis that silently begged him not to leave.
“I…I liked that…” His voice was quiet as he’d wiped his face with his free arm. “Y-You don’t have to leave, Jeong…I’d…rather you didn’t, anyway…”
Jeong made a face at Clovis, wide, uncertain eyes settling and looking down at the hand on his wrist. With a slow movement, the boy placed his hand in Clovis’, squeezing gently.
“Fine, then. I won’t…”
Those three assholes hanging out at Jeong's house. U know who c:
This was a familiar scene in the Yi-Sanchez household. Teenagers shuffling around, the smell of spices being tossed about and sounds of food sizzling. Even the sounds of playful bickering was familiar….
“Jeonnnnnnng, don’t tell me you’re going to give Clovis all the beef!! That’s not fair!” A blue haired girl whined at her chef, slamming a hand down on the table in a rhythm. “Give me beef! Give me beef!!”
Her friend snorted and rolled his eyes. “You asked for chicken, dumbass! You’re getting chicken!”
“Yeah, Chloe, you asked for chicken!” Clovis whined. “This is my quesadilla!”
Chloe made a face that could only have preceded more whining. “But Cloviiiiiiiiiis…” She’d poked out a lip at him. “Wouldn’t it be nicer if we shared them? Half beef, half chicken? C’monnnnnnnnnnnnn I’m hungry and Jeong’s playing favorites!”
“How am I playing favorites?!”
“You’re making your boyfriend’s food first! Just because you can’t wait to get some of your meat in his mouth doesn’t mean you have to feed him first!”
“CHLOE!!”
The blue haired girl spared a glance at Clovis, whose face had lit up bright red before burying it in his arms on the table. Jeong couldn’t help but let out a loud guffaw after a moment.
Making fun of Clovis was also something familiar.

To say someone would have been hard-pressed to catch that blush would have been an outright lie. One he seemed sure that this guy would have liked to hear. Either way, the teen let out a small chuckle before going back to paying attention to where he was walking. Little joke like that and he already had his shorts in a knot? Poor guy was probably shit with girls…he kind of was too, but Jeong liked to chalk that up to ‘lack of trying’. Hah.
"Flocessy, eh? Ain’t that like…technically out in the boonies? Uh…not here, of course, but…further out in the boonies?” He heard it was near that bigshot movie company, yes, but everything he’d heard about Flocessy itself was…ranching, agriculture…hick stuff. “Couldn’t really imagine that to be too dangerous, but, eh.” He shrugged. “Can’t believe everything ya see in the travel guides, am I right? Myself, on the other hand, I…nah. I moved in about…shit, how old am I now?” Jeong had to pull up a hand to count the years quickly before nodding.
"Three….? Yeah about three years ago. I was like..fifteen. Mom requested to get relocated for her job and now we live in this lovely little corner of nowhere." There was another laugh as the two of them turned a corner into the shopping district of Nacrene and Jeong pushed his hands back into his pockets. "I’m actually from Black City! And…I live uh…Well, if we keep going through the shopping district, we’d get to it. Where do you live, dude? Not in the opposite direction, I hope…hahah…” No, really. Jeong would have…felt kind of bad to drag Clovis away from his house, especially if it made him late for a curfew or something.
"Oh, uh...the shopping district?" Clovis blinked as he felt his cheeks cool down, eyes wandering as he tried to recall the town's layout. "Oh okay, I know how to get home from there, no worries!" he nodded. "It's kind of not really in the direction of my house, but it's not like...on the opposite side of school or anything."
"Black City though, huh?" he smiled, looking back at Jeong. "That sounds so cool! I get stupidly excited when I'm in cities," he smiled sheepishly. "It's like, 'what do you mean buildings are that tall?' and 'oh wow everywhere I go there's somewhere cool to eat!' ....Yeesh, I really sound like a hick," he sighed, shoulders slumping slightly. "By golly, what do you mean you don't ride around on horses!?" he exclaimed sarcastically, smiling wryly. "And what are all these small metal boxes you use? You mean you don't use smoke signals!?"
Clovis chuckled at his own joke and rolled his eyes. "Three years, though? I think I've been here for like...a lot longer." He looked at Jeong, seeming slightly perplexed. "How the hell did we miss each other, dude?"
