"Sweetheart I need you to put your coat on so that we can leave, we're already very behind on our schedule today. We still have to make dinner when we come home, I promised Steve we would try to cook tonight." Bucky rambled as he quickly slipped his boots on.
It had been kind of a hectic morning. Lots of errands to run, lots of things that needed to be done before a peaceful night in with Steve, who was coming back home after two weeks away.
However, when you woke up this morning, your head was pounding and it felt like heart was about to burst out of your chest. You were feeling uneasy as anxious thoughts were running through your head about everything and nothing at the same time. You didn't know why but sometimes you would have days like these where your anxiety got the best of you, and traumatic memories from your past felt like they occurred moments ago.
You needed a mental health day. There was no way you'd be able to handle a whole day of running errands with Bucky. Even getting out of bed this morning felt like an impossible task.
Of course if you told him how you were feeling, he'd be understanding, and he could help you feel better too. But you were in no mood to talk about your feelings.
It seems unfair but you were hoping Bucky would be able to just sense how you're feeling so you wouldn't have to vocalize how you felt. Normally Bucky would have noticed that you were feeling triggered, however, with it being a stressful and busy day, he was too busy trying to complete everything on his to-do list for today before Steve came home.
Unfortunately, with all these anxiety built up in your chest and how exhausted you were after helping Bucky clean the house, you were feeling more and more vulnerable. You felt so weak. So small. And Bucky had yet to notice.
For some reason, he assumed you were being difficult because of little things that happened throughout the day. First, you ran out of your favourite cereal for breakfast. Then, while you were picking up the dishes from the table, you spilled chocolate milk on one of your favourite sweaters.
There were some other small incidences but after each one Bucky assured you there is an easy fix, and that after today, things would be less chaotic.
Currently, he was trying to get you to slip your coat on but instead you just stood there in front of the front door, huffing with your arms crossed. Normally, Bucky would've laughed and called you adorable for trying to look intimidating but right now he was only getting annoyed since you were now an hour behind on your schedule.
"Baby please just listen to me, just this once. We can even have get my girl a new stuffie while we're out?" Bucky crouched down in front of you, trying to help you put your sneakers on. He could tell you were starting to feel kind of small, and he knew he might be able to bribe you with the promise of a stuffie.
Instead, you just shook your head and kicked him as he tried to put your sneakers on your feet for you. He groaned slightly in pain ad stood up immediately, all the patience having left his body at this point.
"Okay, put your shoes and your coat on right now, and meet me by the car in five minutes, understood?" He snapped. He was clearly very upset with your behaviour and he was not in the mood to deal with it right now.
You were frustrated and feeling even more little now, and you couldn't figure out what to do. All you knew was that you did not want to go out. You just wanted to stay home. Deciding to leave without saying a word, you picked up the sneakers and threw them at the front door before starting to walk away and towards the stairs. However, you didn't get very far as Bucky caught your arm and roughly picked you up in his strong arms. Judging from the expression on his face, he was certainly angry now if he wasn't before.
"What did I just tell you, huh? I'm not in the mood to deal with a brat today. When I put you down, you're going to pick up your sneakers and put them on before joining me outside by the car, is that clear?" He said sternly, while still trying not to lose his temper. Tears started to fill your eyes as soon as you heard his harsh tone towards you, and they almost fell as you noticed he nearly rolled his eyes at them, "Don't you dare with the tears, or I’ll give you something to cry about, doll."
After that, you couldn't help it anymore. Tears started rapidly streaming down your face as you sobbed uncontrollably in his arms. Bucky was shocked at first, he didn't realize you were this upset. He instantly began to apologize as he carried you over to the couch.
Whispering, sweet gentle words and apologizes while trying to calm you down was clearly not going to work this time. No matter how hard he tried to comfort you, you were inconsolable. You could feel your entire body shaking, and no matter how hard Bucky tried to calm you down, you just felt like your heart was on fire. It was getting more and more difficult to breathe. Moving your hand up to rub your chest gently, you tried to get yourself to slow down and work on your breathing. Bucky quickly caught on and carefully picked you up from his lap and put you down on the couch. He quickly got up, and sat down in front of the couch, kneeling in front of you.
"Hey, hey, it's okay. It's alright, baby. I've got you." He took your other hand in his, rubbing it gently while trying to get you to focus on him, "Just look at me, baby. I need you to look at me so I can help you, babygirl. I need you to focus on my breathing, okay? Do you think you can do that for me sweet girl?"
You looked at him for a second before carefully nodding, making him smile. He leaned up for a second to give you a quick kiss before settling back down and trying to help you again.
Focusing on Bucky, and trying to follow as him as he instructed you to take deep breaths with him. It seemed to be working, however, the anxious thoughts were still there. You didn't know how to tell Bucky though you knew he'd definitely wanna know what just happened.
"You don't have to talk about it if you don't want to," Bucky said, as if he just read your mind, "I mean if you want to talk about it then I'm here for you, but I don't want you to feel like you have to. I just wanna know whether or not you're okay, doll."
"I..." You looked away, feeling even more nervous than before. It felt like your body was screaming at you to tell him why you were acting this way and how you felt right now. But you just couldn't, "I just want to be alone for a bit. I don't want to go out, I know you need to get some errands done but I don't think I wanna come with."
"Fuck the errands. So what if we order in again? No big deal, who cares. I need to make sure that you're okay, I can't just leave you alone after that."
"But I'd rather be alone right now, I promise I'm alright." You muttered nervously.
"Sweetheart, are you feeling little at all? Do you think you need da-" Bucky tried pulling you onto his lap to hug you, but instead you pushed him away and interrupted him.
"I'm not. I wanna be left alone." You nearly snapped as you got off the couch. You didn't know why but you were feeling very angry all of a sudden. The anxiety was still there but the implication of being too weak, vulnerable, or small to handle this on your own was making you a little frustrated.
"Umm alright, sweetheart, if you're sure. I guess I'll see you in an hour then, doll?" Bucky got up from the couch awkwardly, scratching the back of his head as he felt slightly confused about what just happened. He knew it was a bad idea to leave you alone but he wanted to respect your decision and give you your space. He quickly left after that, and the second you heard him drive off in his car, you fell back on the couch and started crying once again.
You felt weaker than before and somehow the horrible feeling had reached your stomach making you feel a bit queasy. You couldn't help but wish that you hadn't asked Bucky to leave you alone. You wished that Steve was here too. You felt so small right now, you did not want to be alone. You curled up into a little ball on the couch and hoped that Bucky would be back soon.
After about ten more minutes of crying, you heard the front door open. You quickly looked up from the couch, hoping Bucky had decided to abandon his errands and come home to you instead. However, to your surprise, it seemed that Steve had come home a few hours early, He strolled into the living room towards you with a beaming smile on his face as he was excited to see his girl after being away for so long. Although, that smile disappeared pretty quickly when he noticed your tear-stained face.
"Oh no, pretty girl, what happened to you? Are you hurt?" Steve knelt down in front of you, looking at you with his concern-filled eyes. You quickly shook your head in reply, letting him know that you're not hurt. He could already tell that you were feeling little right now, and didn't seem to be up for much talking, "Bubba, where's Bucky? Why isn't he here with you right now?"
"He left...errands..." You mumbled, looking down at the ground, feeling guilty for practically kicking Bucky out of the house. You looked up at Steve and felt your guilt getting even worse when you noticed the shift in his demeanour. Watching him take his phone out of his pocket and angrily text someone.
"Baby come on, let's get you upstairs to bed for now, okay?" Steve said as he gently rubbed your back for a bit before getting up to you carry you upstairs in his arms. You heard his phone buzz in his pocket, and he stopped in his tracks to check and see what it was before continuing to walk upstiars again.
On the way to your room, you couldn't help but lean into Steve's touch making him smile slightly. He kissed the top of your head before gently putting you down on your bed.
You gulped, feeling guilty about receiving all these sweet attention from him while he clearly seemed mad at Bucky for leaving you alone when you told him what happened downstairs. Although, it was you who asked him to leave you alone, "Daddy please don't be mad. I asked him to leave."
Steve frowned at your words before shaking his head in reply, "Sweet girl, I'm not angry. I'm sorry I made you feel that way but I promise I'm not, okay?"
You slowly nodded in response, still unconvinced. Steve sighed in response and began gently rubbing your back as he spoke, "I'm not angry, I'm just a little upset that Bucky wasn't here while you were feeling this way, pretty girl."
You gulped before answering him in a quiet tone, "I asked him to leave me alone."
"Why would you do that, pretty girl?" Steve asked, although he already knew what happened as Bucky already texted him and explained the situation to him. He was upset that Bucky left, but he wasn't angry once Bucky explained that you asked him to leave. Now, he was just upset that you were all alone while feeling this way.
"Was feeling anxious...didn't wanna talk about it...still don't. Don't really know why I asked him to leave. I'm sorry..." You said, sniffling near the end of your sentence as the tears started flowing down your cheeks once again.
"Oh my sweet girl, it's okay, it's alright. There's no need to apologize, okay? Sometimes feelings like anxiety, or even sadness, make us do silly things. It happens to all of us, even me and Bucky." He carefully wiped your tears away before leaning down to kiss your forehead, "I'm right here, okay? I've got you, sweetheart. You just get some rest, and when Bucky comes home, we'll have a nice night in with some of your favourite pasta and whatever movie you want to watch, okay?"
You smiled and nodded your head in response. Steve smiled back at you and leaned down to kiss you again before getting up to pick up your favourite stuffie for you to cuddle with as you took your much needed nap.

You'd been needy for Bucky's touch all day, whining the second he tried to leave the room. He could tell you were likely going to regress further as the night went on. You were curled up on the couch, with your head against as chest. Your favourite movie playing on the TV but you could hardly pay attention with his hand sitting dangerously high on your thigh, rubbing it as gentle as ever.
His eyes were staring at the screen but you knew the only thing he was paying attention to were the little whimpers coming out of your mouth as his hand travelled up even higher. You couldn't help but moan his name as his hand went up.
He moved his hand away for a second and looked down at you with a smug smile, "Everything okay, baby?"
You nodded quickly as your cheeks turned pink from feeling embarrassed. Bucky nodded at your response and turned his attention back over to the movie, seizing his hand from your thigh completely. It was humiliating how needy you felt in that moment.
You tried to nuzzle against his chest to try and get his attention but it was like he didn't even know you were there. He just ignored you and focused on the movie you'd forgotten about. You let out a whine and turned to face him, to try to get his attention. He just gave you an unamused look in return before facing the screen again.
"Daddy," You whined,
"Baby," He mocked in response.
You just whined again in response, before moving closer to him and sliding your leg over his lip, and settling yourself down on his thigh. He didn't say anything, wanting to see what you'd do next. He just continued to watch you slowly start to move up and down on his thigh, trying to get some relief.
He couldn't help but chuckle at your soft whimpers, "Is someone feeling a bit needy tonight? Yeah? You wanna be my dumb little baby tonight?"
You nodded slowly, taking a hold of his hand and placing it on your waist, hoping he'll help you move. You frowned when he moved his hand away, shaking his head at you, "Sorry sweetheart, I wanna keep watching the movie. I can't help you."

You sulked back in your seat, glaring at the couple as you watched them from across the room. Your hand curled around the cold glass as you watched him put his arm around her waist to pull her in closer. You scoffed as the girl turned around and foolishly smiled at him before leaning up to kiss him.
"Okay, you need to stop doing that." Your friend groaned as she noticed you glaring at the couple again.
"Stop what?" You muttered, swirling the drink with your straw as you continued to stare at them. You couldn't help but roll your eyes as you watched his hands gently caress her face before pulling her in for a kiss.
That poor innocent girl.
She had no idea who she was falling for. If only she knew what a lying cheating sleaze he really was.
You knew. You knew the second you walked in on him with cheating with another girl. Her legs wrapped up around his waist, and her pale skin covered with love bites, curtesy of your loving boyfriend. Her shirt was torn, while he had nothing on.
You could never forget that moment. The moment where it felt like your heart had shattered into a million pieces.
You had only been going out for mouth but you were close friends before you started dating. He knew all about your past. He knew about every guy that had broken your heart in some way. He knew how heartbroken you were when you caught your last boyfriend cheating on you. He promised to never break your heart the way they did.
And yet he still ended up breaking your heart.
You shook your head at the flashback, and brought the glass up to your lips, downing the drink in a fluid motion. You winced at the bitter taste of the liquor making its way down your throat, as you slammed the glass back on the table.
"Look I get it, he's a scumbag but you're never gonna get over Holden if you just sit here and sulk over him." She pointed out as she got up from her seat. "Come on, let's go dance!"
You quickly shook your head, looking around the crowded pub. It was one of those places that turned into a nightclub late at night with half the tables moved around to give people enough room to dance. After about 10pm, it was more of a nightclub in a pub setting.
"It's okay, go without me. I need another drink." You picked up your empty glass to show her, "Plus that guy in the blue shirt over there has been staring at you since we got here. I'm sure he'll be happy to join you out there if you're by yourself"
She instantly blushed, looking back at the guy who was leaning against the wall, shamelessly staring her down. He smiled at her when he noticed her looking at him. She smiled back and walked over to the dance floor, he quickly followed her there.
You picked up your purse and started walking to the bar, trying to move past the drunk crowd. You waited for the bartender to notice you, as he was talking to some girls at the other end of the bar. You waited a few more minutes before giving up and making your way outside.
You took out the half-empty carton of cigarettes from your purse, taking one out before putting the box back in. It was a bad habit you quit a year ago but after a recent slip-up, you felt the addiction making its way back. You searched around your purse for a lighter then realized you didn't have one.
"Here, you can use mine" A deep voice echoed next to you, catching your attention. Your eyes looked up to meet a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring down at you. You took the lighter from him, silently thanking him before giving it back.
You'd seen him around campus, but he looked older than most of your classmates. He definitely didn't seem like a student. Maybe he was a TA. He couldn't be a professor. No professor would voluntarily come to a place like this. A crowded place filled with sweaty, drunk college students. Not exactly a professor's dream place to be.
He leaned against the cold brick wall, as smoke drifted from his mouth. He gazed up at you every now and then, watching your lips close around the cigarette.
As another icy breeze hit you, you decided it was probably time to go back in. You looked back at him one more time before going back in. You walked back to the bar, hoping to leave with a drink this time.
"Vaani!"
You nearly groaned as you heard a familiar voice call out your name. You turned around to face the happy couple that you had been hoping to avoid all night.
"Hi Holden," You spit out, forcing a smile as you stepped away from the crowd.
"I haven't seen you in so long, come on we have loads to catch up on!" He grabbed your hand, and practically dragged you over to his table.
"I'd like you to meet Anh," He gestured to the girl sitting down at the table, who looked up at you smiling and offering her hand.
This was weird. Too weird. He was clearly drunk out of his mind. Why else would he want his ex-girlfriend to meet his new flavour of the month.
She got up from her seat, wrapping her arm around him possessively before pushing her lips against him. You nearly rolled your eyes and decided to sneak away, but then he turned to face you again with the biggest grin on his face.
God he was such a jerk. Trying to dangle his new girl in your face after you wouldn't take him back.
You tried your best to keep your cool, not wanting to create a scene. Maybe it was just the effect of alcohol but you could feel the anger boiling up inside you. But you didn't want him to know that. He didn't need to know he still had that effect on you. If he knew you were still hurting because of him, he'd be ecstatic. He didn't deserve that satisfaction.
"It's so nice to meet you. How long have you guys been together?" You tried to make small talk with her, while hoping the earth would swallow you whole any minute now so you wouldn't have to be in this uncomfortable position.
"About two months, I think?" She shrugged, picking up her drink to take a sip. He instantly tensed around her, hoping you wouldn't say anything. You looked back at him, shocked.
It had only been a few weeks since you dumped him, which meant he was seeing her while he was with you. In fact you probably got together at the same time.
Before you could open your mouth to say anything, he quickly turned to her "Babe would you mind getting me another drink? They serve pretty girls quicker anyway," She playfully hit his shoulder before walking over to the bar.
"Does she know?" You glared at him, crossing your arms.
"Does she know what?" He mumbled, looking away from you, trying to play dumb.
You scoffed at him, "Does she know you were with me when you started dating? Does she know about the girl I caught you with?"
"It's none of your business. Stay the fuck out of my relationship. Just because you can't keep one doesn't mean you get to ruin mine." He spit out, looking back at the bar to make sure Anh was still there and couldn't hear him.
Before you could say anything, you felt someone wrap their arm around your waist. You looked up to see the same pair of stunning blue eyes you had seen earlier. Had he followed you back inside?
"Doll, where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere," He winked at you before using his other hand to hold your face, before brushing his soft lips against yours. He pulled away to let you answer but you remained silent, still shocked at what just happened. He cleared his throat to get your attention when he noticed Holden staring at you suspiciously.
You quickly answered, noticing the skeptical look on Holden's face, "Umm I went out for a smoke, and then I bumped into Holden."
"Oh so this is Holden?" He looked back at Holden and extended his hand to greet him.
"And you are?" Holden remained still, not bothering to shake his hand.
"Bucky. Or Professor Barnes if you'd prefer that" He looked back down at you, brushing his soft lips against yours once again. God he was a good kisser. Wait did he say Professor?
Holden made a face at him before clearing his throat to get his attention, "So she told you about me? It's nice that you still talk about me." he smirked at you, causing you to roll your eyes.
"Well she mentioned you one time, I think. Something about you not being able to be with just one person at a time." Bucky chimed in before you could say anything. You almost laughed at the nervous look on Holden's face, as he looked around to make sure Anh wasn't nearby.
"I'll see you around, V." He scoffed at you before making his way over to Anh, who was still at the bar, struggling to get the bartender's attention.
"Ummm wha-what was that?" You mumbled, shrugging Bucky off you once Holden left.
"Well you looked like you needed my help," He shrugged, trying not to smirk at the look on your face, "I overheard you two talking, and he seemed like a jerk. Couldn't resist I guess."
"You're a professor?" You questioned, changing the subject. You can't believe you just kissed a professor. Twice. Was it technically academic misconduct if he wasn't your professor?
"Yes, I am. Are you thinking about taking my class now so you can blackmail me into giving you a good grade?" He joked, gesturing you to follow him outside.
"Well you did kiss me. Twice." You pointed out as you followed him outside. "I could technically get you fired."
"Well it doesn't really work that way but how about this, you don't tell anyone that I kissed you, twice, and you take my class in return and get a good grade in return" He smirked, looking back at you, as you finally made it outside.
"Hmm will I get an A if I take your class?" You smirked back at him, crossing your arms.
"Maybe a B+?" He shrugged, trying not to smile "I think I'll need a little more than a just a kiss to give you an A."
"Hmmm how about this, you come home with me right now, and I can show you how much I deserve that A?" You grabbed his hand, leading him in the direction of your dorm apartment.

a/n: i woke up with the worst cramps possible and all i wanted was to cuddle with someone but i'm on campus now trying to get some work done :( i wanna post some more period comfort fics, maybe today or tomorrow! i have an old period comfort fic request from @chrisevansdaughter that i'm working on that i can hopefully post soon 💗
"Do you think it's bleeding? It feels like it's bleeding." Bucky groaned, rubbing the back of his head.
"Oh please, you're fine." You mumbled from the couch, clutching your lower abdomen while holding your breath as your cramps started to get worse.
This morning you'd woken up to the most painful cramps you've ever experienced. You assumed that they were pre-period cramps, and tried to go back to sleep. However, a few minutes later, you felt Bucky's hand on your shoulder gently shaking you awake. You mumbled five more minutes, before trying to go back to sleep.
"Love, wake up," he whispered, glancing down at the dark stain on the bed, "You're bleeding, doll."
Suddenly awake, you quickly opened your eyes and turned to look down at the crimson stain on the bed. Groaning loudly, you put your head in your hands. You normally got your period on time, though sometimes it could be a day or two late. It was rarely ever early. You weren't supposed to get your period for another 4 days, and yet here it was. You felt embarrassed, but fortunately that feeling didn't last long as your body started to cramp up again. You whimpered loudly, while clutching your stomach and struggling to breathe.
You struggled to sit up, as the cramps were somehow starting to get even worse. Bucky quickly put one arm behind your back, and held your hand in his, to help you sit up. You quietly thanked him before turning your gaze back down to the stain, and cursing silently, "I'm so sorry, bubba, I wasn't supposed to get my period yet. I didn't mean to ruin your sheets."
"Love, I'm not mad at you. You have nothing to be sorry about, it's okay. I'm sorry I had to wake you up but we've gotta get you cleaned up." Bucky kissed your forehead, before getting up and leaving the room.
He came back a few minutes later with some towels, a water bottle, and some ibuprofen. He handed you the ibuprofen first, which you gladly took before washing it down with some water. Then he helped you get up carefully, holding you gently in his arms as he lead you over to the bathroom. He put the towels down on the counter, then walked over to the shower to turn on the hot water.
"Alright, doll. You take as long as you need in there, okay? If you need anything, just shout and I'll come running. I'm just gonna go clean up in the room, okay?" Before you could even protest, he left the bathroom to take the sheets to the laundry.
You stepped out of the shower after a while, already starting to feel a bit better. You noticed Bucky had left a pair of his sweatpants and his favourite hoodie on the counter next to the towels. There was also a bag of supplies on the ground, with different feminine hygiene products, a heating pad, some painkillers you were definitely going to need later, and some other essentials. After drying yourself off with the towel, you got dressed quickly and decided to go check on Bucky.
You found him downstairs in the kitchen, pouring hot water into a cup. Walking over to him, you noticed a familiar sweet smell coming from the kitchen. That's when you noticed a fresh batch of his painfully-delicious pancakes sitting on the counter. You put your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to you. He turned around, and pulled you into his arms gently, being careful not to hug you too tight in case you still have cramps.
You helped him carry the pancakes and the tea over to the living room. You sat down in front of the TV and started flipping through the channels. Bucky picked up your fork, and started feeding you small bites as you settled on what show to watch. Eventually, breakfast was over and you were cuddled up on the couch watching titanic. You've only seen the movie once and you found the ending sad, but you never cry at the ending. Until today. It seemed like your body was determined to make you miserable today as you wiped the tears that were streaming down your face at a fast pace. You hoped Bucky wouldn't notice that you were crying, especially just because of a movie. You glanced over at him and noticed he was straight at you, and trying to stifle a laugh. Despite his best efforts, he couldn't contain his laughter anymore. He got up from the couch, still laughing, as you glared him.
"Screw you, Barnes, it's not funny!" You picked up a pillow from the couch and threw it at him, but it only made him laugh harder.
"I'm sorry, love, I couldn't help it!" He chuckled as he picked up the pillow and threw it back on the couch next to you. "I didn't think you were one to cry at movies like that. It wasn't like one glistening tear either, doll, you were nearly sobbing. Don't get me wrong though, it was adorable!"
"You jerk!" You picked up the pillow again and threw it at him but it missed him once again. As he bent over to pick the pillow back up, you picked up the remote this time, and launched it at him. Unfortunately, this time it actually hit him.
"Ow, what the-" He got up, rubbing the back of his head, "That actually hurt, doll, what was that?"
"The remote" You mumbled, trying not to laugh.
He glared at you before bending down to pick up the pillow and throw it back at you. Although he didn't mean to, he threw it pretty hard and it hit your stomach, right as the cramps decided to make a comeback. He quickly apologized and walked over to you to make sure you weren't hurt too bad.
"Just go get me the pain-killers, doofus." You mumbled, laying down sideways, clutching your lower abdomen.
He got up and made his way to the kitchen, still rubbing the spot at the back of his head, the one where you threw the remote at.
"Do you think it's bleeding? It feels like it's bleeding." Bucky groaned, as he continued to rub the back of his head, checking for any blood.
"Oh please, you're fine." You mumbled from the couch, clutching your lower abdomen while holding your breath as your cramps started to get worse.
OKAY have you heard of letting someone cry themselves to sleep if theyre having sleep problems and can't sleep without their caregiver😅😅? a/n: I AM SO SOFT FOR THIS, I'm struggling to finish my assignment that's due tmr morning so I wanted to work on something else to get my mind off it, and what is better than stucky taking care of little!reader hahah
Ever since you had a nightmare a few weeks ago, you refused to go to sleep unless either Bucky or Steve were with you. For a few days, Steve was by your side whenever you asked him to cuddle you during nap time or bedtime. It was a good thing that their work schedule was so flexible that they could work from home sometimes and be there to take care of you. However, Steve soon realized that if they continue to do this then you would never be able to go to sleep by yourself.
Steve decided that they would start by only cuddling with you during bedtime, but for nap time they would leave after tucking you in, and if they were weren't home then you'd have to get yourself ready for nap time. Of course, Bucky didn't agree with this. He found it impossible to just let you cry it out until you fell asleep. Steve eventually convinced him by telling him they need to be sure you can take care of yourself if they ever have to leave you alone for a few days because of work or an emergency.
After a week or so, Steve noticed that whenever they weren't working from home, Bucky would always go home for lunch and then come back after an hour or so. At first, Steve thought that maybe Bucky was just checking up on you. However, he decided to check up on Bucky one day and caught him cuddling you during nap time. You were asleep and didn't need Bucky there but he wanted to stay just in case you woke up. He didn't even notice Steve until he called his name.
He groaned, getting out of bed and walking into the hallway to talk to Steve, "Look I know-"
"Bucky, I already told you she needs this."
"But what if she has a nightmare? Or what if she's hurt? Maybe it's not such a bad idea that one of us is here all the time." He shrugged, looking down at the ground.
"We're not having this discussion again." Steve mumbled, dragging him downstairs to drive him back to work.
Once they returned to work, Steve felt good about their talk on the way there. He made some good points that they need to be sure you can take care of yourself in case they're not around. He also pointed out that this might help you get over the nightmare, and perhaps get over your fear of sleeping by yourself. Bucky nodded along and agreed that those were all good points. Steve was proud of him. He didn't think Bucky would agree to this so quickly.
Steve decided that maybe they would go home early today, so he stopped by Bucky's office to get him, he wasn't there. His stuff wasn't there so maybe he already left but he never leaves without telling him so that was a bit odd. He tried to call Bucky but he didn't pick up. He decided maybe he should go home to check if he's already there.
When he got home, he noticed both you and Bucky watching a movie on the couch. You were lying down on top of him, all snuggled up while he had his arms wrapped around you. Bucky groaned as he noticed Steve standing in the living room next to them.
"Oh for God's sake Bucky, we just talked about this!" Steve exclaimed, as he picked you up.
Bucky quickly sat up and tried to explain himself, "No no it's okay, she couldn't sleep so we're just watching a movie until she feels sleepy again."
"Bucky we talked about this..." Steve carefully put you down on the ground before bending down next to you, "Hey bubba I think I saw Ellie Bunny sitting at the table by herself, why don't you go grab her for naptime, huh?"
You quickly smiled and nodded, running over to the table to grab your beloved plushie.
Steve sat down on the couch next to Bucky, groaning, "Look we can't keep doing this. She needs this."
"I can't help it, if I hear her crying I'm gonna go make sure she's okay." Bucky said, getting up from the couch to turn the TV off.
"I know you only wanna comfort her, and this mama bear instincts are adorable," Bucky opened his mouth to interrupt as soon as he heard the words 'mama bear instincts' but Steve continued ", but she needs to be able to sleep by herself. She'll never be able to do that if you just keep coddling her. You think it doesn't break my heart to her cry and not go to her?"
"I-"
"This is for her own good, okay?" Steve sighed, getting up from the couch to help you get tucked back in for nap time.
After dinner, Steve decided that since you had Bucky next to you for nap time, maybe they could try to have you sleep on your own during bedtime. Bucky flat out refused as soon as heard the idea but Steve wouldn't budge.
Eventually, you tired yourself out from all the crying and fell asleep. Bucky decided that if he heard you crying at any point during the night then he'll bring you back to bed. Steve told him that that wouldn't be necessary.
In the middle of the night, Bucky reached over to Steve's side but found it empty. He quickly got up and walked over to your room. He quietly chuckled to himself when he noticed Steve next to you, humming softly and brushing his fingers through your hair. Steve groaned lightly as he noticed Bucky,
"What happened to-"
"Not a word. We'll discuss it tomorrow, go back to bed."

a/n: so i'm gonna try to write a few more drabbles/blurbs/fics today especially the holiday themed ones! send in any requests you may have and I'll try to answer them!
Bucky sighed as he shook his head once again at her request to go outside to play in the snow.
“But why not?” She mumbled, pouting at his response.
“Because I said so.” He said, looking at her sternly.
She looked away from him, and looked back out the window again. She knew she shouldn't push it but she was excited to play in the snow, “But look at the snow, it’s so pretty. Just wanna play in it for a bit.”
He sighed while looking down at her, “I know you do, doll, but we can’t have you getting sick. Or trying to run away…” he mumbled that last part so she wouldn't hear him.
“But daddy promised he would let me!”
When she woke up that morning, she was so excited to play outside in the snow once she looked out her window and saw their backyard. She asked Steve that morning and he promised her he would let her play outside for a bit, maybe even at the park.
Bucky was getting tired of saying no to his little girl, “Well he didn’t talk to me about it, and I already said no. I’m not changing my mind, go upstairs to your room.”
She quickly got up and ran upstairs to her room, tears streaming down her cheeks as she sobbed loudly. She threw herself onto the pile of stuffies on her bed, before curling in, hugging her knees to her chest. Eventually she got up to play with some of her stuffies that were next to the chair in the corner. She heard her door open but she was too upset to turn around to see who it was.
“Hi, pretty girl. What are you up to?” Steve sat down next to her, crossing his legs.
“Playing.” She mumbled quietly, not wanting to talk.
“What are you playing, sweetheart.” He gently brushed the hair away from her face.
“Just playing…” She mumbled again, turning away from him.
He sighed and pulled her towards him before wrapping his arms around her, “Can I at least get a hug, sweetheart? I haven’t seen you all day.” She shrugged and turn around to hug him back. He noticed how sad she looked, and he instantly felt guilty, “What’s with the pouting, sweetheart? Still upset with Dada?”
“You promised…” She mumbled, resting her head on his chest.
Steve sighed and picked her up, “I know I did but I should’ve talked to Dada about it first. I know I promised to take you to the park, but how about the backyard for now? We can still play with the snow.” He took her over to her window, and she looked outside at their backyard. It wasn't the park but at least it was something.
“Will you play with me?” She looked up at him, with a small smile.
He smiled back, and carried her over to her bed before gently putting her down, “Of course, sweetheart. All three of us can play.”
She started fidgeting with her thumbs nervously, “Will dada let me go outside?”
“You leave that up to me, pretty girl. How about you start getting dressed? It’s very cold outside, we gotta make sure you’re wearing something really warm, okay?” He gently kissed her forehead, then left her room to walk downstairs to talk to Bucky. He walked over to the kitchen and noticed Bucky chopping up some vegetables for dinner.
“B—”
“No.”
“Just hear me out—”
“I already said no.”
“We won’t go to the park, okay? Just the backyard for now. She won’t go anywhere.” Steve sighed, walking over to him and placing his hand on Bucky's shoulder.
“It’s not just that, it’s freezing outside, she’s gonna get sick.” Bucky argued, putting down is knife.
“No she won’t, she’ll be bundled up in multiple layers so she doesn’t get cold. You need to relax, she’ll be fine.” Steve rolled his eyes, walking over to the fridge to get a drink, “I honestly think the park is a great idea.”
Bucky looked up at him with a shocked look on his face. A month ago they had to get Wanda's help just to make her wanna stay with them, and now he wants to take her outside and possibly ruin that progress? “Really? And what if someone sees her there? She may not wanna leave but if we bump into somebody that she might recognize then what if she tries to leave again, or they try to take her from us?”
Steve sighed, taking her sippy out of the cupboard and started to fill it up with juice, “I know, but how long are we gonna live like this? She needs to go outside, and not just the backyard. I’m sick of this. We brought her here so that we could take care of her and keep her happy, but she’s miserable just sitting here in the house all day. Aren’t you sick of it too?”
“It’s not like I haven’t thought about, and yeah it would be fun to take her out, take her to the park or show her off to our friends,” Bucky grumbled, sitting down at the table. He wanted to take her outside, go places with her, show her his favourite places in Brooklyn, but he was terrified something bad would happen, “I’m just scared something will happen.”
“Nothing is gonna happen, we’ll go for an hour, that's it. If she wants to continue playing then we can always come back to the house and play in the backyard. She’ll love it, come on.” Steve reassured him, as he screwed the lid back on her sippy.
“Alright, fine.” Bucky sighed, knowing Steve was probably right.
“Daddy, I’m ready…” She walked the stairs, excited to show Steve her outfit but quickly started to feel shy when she realized Bucky was there too.
“You look adorable, sweetheart. Is that the sweater Natty got you last week?” Steve walked over to her, handing her her sippy, “You look very nice, sweetheart, very cozy.”
“Thank you, Daddy…” She mumbled and took the cup from him, taking a small sip from it.
“You look very pretty, doll.” Bucky walked over to her, picking her up in his arms. She quickly mumbled a thank you, before looking away from him.
“You’re gonna be the prettiest girl at the park, huh?” Bucky smiled, kissing her forehead.
“The park?” She quickly looked up at Bucky and then at S. Did that mean Steve had convinced him to let her go to the park?
Bucky chuckled at he reaction, “Did you not wanna go anymore, angel?”
“No I wanna go!” She quickly replied, “But you said I couldn’t…”
“Well I guess Steve is right, it might be fun for you. But we gotta make sure you’re wearing another sweater on top of this and then your jacket, okay?" He put her back down on the floor, "We gotta bring your mittens and hat, oh and don’t forget to wear your boots.”
Steve rolled his eyes and grabbed his coat off the rack, “Alright, Bucky. You go get dressed and we’ll meet you in the car, okay?”
Bucky looked at him sternly, “Another sweater on top, Steve. I’m not kidding.”
“Okay, okay. Just go get dressed and come back quickly.” Steve reassured him before practically forcing him up the stairs, “You excited, sweetheart?” She quickly nodded, handing Steve her sippy to go upstairs to put on another sweater.
Once everybody was dressed in warm clothes, they headed to the park. They played there for about an hour until their little girl started to feel a bit cold. They decided it was a good time to go home, especially before it got too dark. They made their way back to the car, as Bucky was holding her in his arms.
“Thank you for taking me to the park! I had so much fun!” She kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder.
“Oh yeah? Did you wanna go again sometime, doll?”
“Yes, please!”
They finally made it home, and quickly ran inside the house to warm up. Bucky helped her change into a pair of warm PJs while Steve made some hot chocolate. Bucky took her back downstairs to the living room, just as Steve walked in with her cup of hot cocoa.
“Here you go, pretty girl. One hot chocolate with whipped cream and sprinkles.” Steve walked over with the cup in his hand, as Bucky sat down with her on his lap.
“Thank you, daddy!” She tried taking the cup from him, but Bucky quickly took it before she could.
“It’s really hot, be careful, doll.” He held onto the cup for her, lightly blowing on it to make sure it wasn't too hot for her before letting her take a sip.
“Are you still feeling cold, sweetheart?” Steve sat down next to them, picking up the remote to turn on a movie.
She took a sip from the cup before answering him, “I’m okay now, the fireplace is helping.”
“Alright, sweetheart. Just finish your drink and then we can cuddle up, okay?” She quickly nodded at him and turned her attention to the screen to see what movie Steve was going to put on.
“How about a Christmas movie tonight?”
“Can we watch a barbie one? The Christmas carol one, please?” She asked, hoping he'll out on one of her favourite Christmas movies. He searched for it on the TV, and she quickly pointed at the screen when she spotted it. He clicked the 'play now' button, and they turned in for a cozy night in.
Hey bubba, I miss you so much more! And I’m glad your doing good, I feel a little better now but it is miserable here it’s been raining literally for the past 2 days the wind is on another level so it hurts my chest a little with the cold weather but it’s okay. I’ll be home in 2 days time so it’s all worth it ❤️
