The whole situation, by his end, seemed like a waste of time. There had been no additional responses from either of his sisters, thankfully, but the chances were higher the more he waited on the stranger claiming he could enlist in someone to help. And yet, all he had seen thus far felt more like an empty promise, if anything.
Daken clicked his tongue in annoyance, his patience wearing dangerously thin. If it were anyone else, he would have retorted much faster. Frankly, something about the way he was making the identify of his ‘friend’ so damn secret, one couldn’t help if he was acting or was far too old to be playing with imaginary friends.
“Just make it quick so I can get home already,” he spat, complying by the request, taking at least a foot away from the stranger, anticipating for the moment he was going to take off without so much of an explanation.
After a solid 5 minute, he pretended that he turned off the phone. He couldn’t just have a few seconds call, he had to make it realistic. He took his secret identity very seriously, so he wouldn’t just take off either. He would wait for him to leave, he would pretend that he didn’t have anywhere else to be at. If he left right away, would make too obvious.
“I talked to him, he said that he’s on it,” he gave him a small smile, “You can give me your number, so I can let you know if he found it, or you could meet with him in here tomorrow.”
