Amethyst snaps out of her thoughts, she frowns bitterly at the sound of her voice. Moissanite stumbles up to Amethyst, taking a seat beside her. The air is tense as the two sit on the shore, "...It's getting cold out. Greg's worried Steven might get sick." Moissanite says, Amethyst doesn't respond. "It's weird, huh? We've never had to worry about the cold..." Moissanite says, she drums her hands against her knees, watching Amethyst carefully.
Also scratch that—your whole ACCOUNT is gone. What’s up with that?

I’ve had it since 2020, I had fun posting on there, but it actively started taking a genuine toll on my mental health recently. Mainly because people kept harassing me to update a Ben 10 x Reader that I had no motivation to work on. (Someone even had more than one account after I had already blocked them)
Between the bots, the burnout, and now harassment because they weren’t happy I was consistently working on HOWYTOM and not the fic they started following me for. Someone started to write “their own” fic which was just a mainly copied version of something that I already wrote BUT they replaced Y/N with an oc, and they chose to comment on my page and fic that they were writing something since I was taking so long.
Wattpad wasn’t fun anymore, and I had already announced that I was leaving 2 years ago before HOWYTOM was even started, but I felt bad about just up and leaving and made myself keep posting on there. All the problems that were bothering me got worse recently, I genuinely considered to just stop writing fanfics all together.
It felt like I wasn’t allowed to write anything else that wasn’t that one fic. If I wanted to take a break, it had to be for only a week before some people got mad at me. If I wanted to write something else, I better be working on that fic, too. I’ve gotten several comments on HOWYTOM that were just people asking why I wasn’t updating the Ben 10 fic instead. I couldn’t take the stress anymore
All of the stories on there have been saved and archived to be later posted on ao3, and now I can get back to focusing on HOWYTOM without feeling guilty and pressured.
Sorry to anyone on here who was actively/only reading HOWYTOM on my Wattpad, but it had to be done.

In lighter news, I’m working on some images of Chrysanthemum and Moissanite’s designs in the SU style. I can’t draw in that style so it is traced and heavily edited, but at least it’s not ai. Chrysanthemum’s design should be posted on here soon.

On the Run is a little close to halfway done. It's still in the writing phase since I keep adding more and more scene. Did you guys know this chapter will have Y/N singing a cannon song for the first time? It's genuinely so funny to me that she has never actually sung anything yet, especially considering she was originally planned to join Sadie Killer and the Suspects (this might still happen, depends on how I'm writing Y/N when the band's introduced.)
Anyway, here's a sneak peek of On the Run so far!:
A raccoon pops out of the bushes, eyeing the three of you curiously. You and Steven gasp excitedly at the sight of it. "...Think we can get it to come with us?" Steven asks hopefully, "It's a raccoon. You can get a raccoon to do anything if you offer it food." Amethyst states, Steven quickly unties his bindle, pulling out a slice of bread. "Eh? Eh?" He says, holding the bread out to the raccoon. It carefully approaches Steven before it takes a bite out of the bread. You grin hopefully, "Does that mean it likes us?" You ask, "It definitely likes the food." Amethyst snorts.

Scene Ideas/Sneak Peeks for Beach City Horror Club
This whole post was born from me daydreaming potential scenes and going “WRITE THAT DOWN! WRITE THAT DOWN!”
A good chunk of this chapter will just be Lars and Y/N being on the same wavelength and actually becoming friends.
“We’re going to a party. Wanna come?” You ask as you lean against the wall with Steven and Lars, “Party?…Who’s throwing it?” Lars asks, narrowing his eyes at you and Steven. “Ronaldo.” Steven tells him, you cringe deeply. You know Ronaldo’s throwing this party, what you don’t know is why Steven wants to go so bad. He says he wants to show that there’s no bad blood, but there is bad blood! There is a lot of bad blood!
The small bit of interest of Lars’ face is ripped away and replaced with pure disgust, “Ugh! That social napalm?” He asks, “…What is a napalm?” Steven asks you. You shrug, looking up at Lars. “I can’t believe I’m asking this, but…please come. Steven’s making me go against my will. Having you there will actually make this funny.” You state.
Lars looks surprised by your words, he starts to laugh, now you and Steven look surprised. “Wow, since when do you want me around, Y/N? What? Starting to get a little kid crush on me or something?” Lars teases, that pulls an actual laugh out of you. “HA! Sorry, Lars. I may not hate you as much as I used to, but you would never be my type. I don’t go for old dudes. I go for Steven Universes.” You tease right back, gesturing to a now pink-cheeked Steven.
“Old?! I’m pretty sure I’m like 5 years older than you!” Lars says with an offended huff. Steven looks back and forth between you and Lars with stars in his eyes. The two of you…are talking?! Joking?! without Steven’s input?!
This is amazing!
“Fine, fine. Since you think this party needs me so bad. I’ll go.” Lars states with a smug grin. “Great! You would’ve ended up going no matter what.” You snort, Lars raises an eyebrow, “Oh, yeah? What makes you say that?” He scoffs lightly. You grin, shutting your eyes, “We’re also here to pick up Sadie~” You add knowingly. “What the—SHE IS?!” Lars asks.

Lars pulls away from Sadie, his looks at you desperately, “Y/N! You’re actually a lot smarter than I thought! Come on—there’s no way you seriously think there’s a ghost!” He says, everyone attention drifts to you, “It’s not a ghost.” You state. “SEE?!” Lars says, Ronaldo lets out a scoff. “Ok, Y/N. If it’s not a ghost then what is it?” He asks with a condescending smile.
“Ok, first of all, Ronaldo, if Steven wasn’t hear I think I would’ve actually punched you by now. And second, it’s obvious a gem. It’s always a gem causing weird stuff in Beach City. Having you learned that by now, Ronaldo?” You ask, your last question just as condescending as he was. Ronaldo glares at you and Lars, you and Lars glare right back.
“Guys! Now isn’t the time for—” Sadie never gets to finish what she wanted to say. The floor opens underneath her and she falls through. “SADIE!” Everyone shouts, the floor closes, the four of you run to wear she was standing.
Currently drafting scenes for Future Vision, On the Road and Maximum Capacity. These chapters are gonna dive into Y/N’s childhood outside of her perspective and more focused on Garnet and Amethyst’s perspectives and the reasons for their mistakes.
Pearl’s perspective is going to take longer to dive into because of all the extra baggage she has with PD, Rose, and Moissanite.
Amethyst and Garnet are the ones making the first step to have a relationship with “the new Y/N”. Pearl is a little more caught up with her own issues. And Steven’s striving now with Y/N. He’s back to being the only person she trusts (helped by the fact they fused and she could hear his thoughts for a while)
Either way, Steven and Y/N fluff is coming, but Y/N and Garnet + Y/N and Amethyst angst is also coming
Also is it just me but I feel like Peedee would get absolutely awkward around his crush (aka Connie), I dunno why but he seems like it he just strikes me as the type
Even though he’s a canon character, I’ve basically kidnapped him and made him my oc with how much added traits and story relevance I’m giving him.
Peedee is 100% the type to be awkward around Connie as his crush. That’s why he tries to force himself to view her as a friend and a friend only. Pretty much the only times the hang out in person right now is if Y/N and Steven are hanging out with them. Peedee doesn’t have to stress about it being a date. It’s just a hangout between friend.
While he has a crush on Connie and he’s pretty aware she does like him to some extent—as a friend. he’s still an insecure 12 year old. Even if Connie does start to express that she likes him in a more romantic way, he believes that she really shouldn’t. Peedee believes he doesn’t deserve to be with her, as he’s expressed in Keep Beach City Weird!
