ㅤㅤwhile  sabine  had  never  outright  admitted  it,  and  likely  never  would,  it  was  probably  quite  apparent  to  most  that  she  had  a  giant  crush  on  the  mechanic  that  she  was  currently  stood  in  front  of.  she'd  brought  him  some  pastries  from  the  bakery,  ones  she'd  made  herself,  in  fact.  and  while  she'd  intended  to  play  it  off  as  a  friendly  gesture,  hoping  he  saw  it  as  such  too,  others  were  surely  silently  judging  the  girl  who  held  the  small  container  of  baked  goods.  she'd  stress  about  that  later,  however.  for  nowㅤ—ㅤ "  kenji  !  " ㅤhis  name  leaves  her  already  smiling  lips,  voice  bright  and  joyous,  and  perhaps  a  bit  flirty,  too,ㅤ "  i  was  just  passing  by  and  i  had  these  pastries  we  couldn't  sell  due  to  a  minor  cosmetic  issue,  and  thoughtㅤ'  hey  !  maybe  they'd  take  these  off  my  hands  !  'ㅤso...  what  do  you  say ?  "

ㅤㅤas  someone  who  liked  things  clean and orderly most of the time,  this  should've  been  a  stressful  situation  for  sabine.  instead,  she  couldn't  seem  to  help  but  laugh.  there  was  flour  everywhere,  everywhere.  all  over  their  kitchen,  and  all  over  bianca too.  when  the  other  girl  speaks,  sabine  tries  her  very  best,  truly,  to  stop  her  giggles.ㅤ " yeah,  right.  you're  right.  sorry.  can  i  get  you  anything ?ㅤa  towel  maybe... ? "ㅤ and  even  she  knows  she's  hardly  containing  the  laugh  that  is  bubbling  out  of  her  chest.

ㅤㅤ before  the  other  girl  even  finishes  her  sentence,  sabine  is  handing  the  cashier  who  is  waiting  rather  impatiently,  in  sabine's  opinion,  for  payment,  her  own  card  in  place  of  any  money  katharina  was  offering.  a  smile  graces  her  lips  when  she  looks  at  the  other,ㅤ "  don't  even worry  about  it,  yeah  ?ㅤjust  consider  it  my  treat.  "ㅤ while  sabine  wasn't  exactly  one  to  give  out  of  the  goodness  of  her  heart,  katharina  was  someone  she'd  come  to  be  quite  fond  of  since  moving  to  vienna.  helping  her  buy  her  morning  muffins,  or  whatever  she  might've  been  purchasing,  was  money  easily  given  in  sabine's  eyes.ㅤreally,  what  kind  of  person  are  you  if  you  can’t  help  out  a  friend  ?

𓊈    ESTHER  YU ,   TWENTY  FIVE ,   CIS  WOMAN ,   SHE/HER.    𓊉     ⇢      did  you  see  SABINE   YEUNG  roaming  around  the  city recently ?   heard  their  top  song  on  spotify  lately  is  ALL-AMERICAN  BITCH  by  OLIVIA  RODRIGO ,   probably  a  great  motivator  when  they're  working  as  a  BAKER.   they're  typically  spotted  carrying  around  A  MAKEUP  BAG  WITH  HER  GO-TO  PALETTES,  LIPSTICKS  AND  GLOSSES  and  known  for  being  FERVENT  and  RETICENT.     

sabine in summary:

raised in a strict family, sabine knew from a young age that her parents expected a lot from her. their wishes for their children to be exceptional in all things, especially school, had always weighed heavily on sabine and her psyche. still, she knew it wasn’t acceptable in her family to break. so, she did what she had to do to impress her parents, and pushed down anything they wouldn’t deem perfect. to her credit, sabine had always done her best, and if she could help it, been the best, in all things she did. from ballet, to piano, to school, even to fake smiles and a facade of perfection, she was the best of the best at all of it. her acceptance into juilliard was perhaps the first time she’d ever felt her parents might be proud of her, and accept her dance as a serious career option. that is, until the fall. unable to do ballet any longer, which she’d intended to do professionally, the girl was forced to leave juilliard and her dream of becoming a dancer behind. now, a failed dancer with years wasted, she could hardly look her parents in the eye, their disappointment evident. in fact, it had been their idea that maybe it was best to leave new york, and to leave behind the people who knew she wasn’t up to snuff. thus how she ended up in austria. these days, she continues to try to be picture perfect, even if on the inside she’s sort’ve falling to bits.
