She gave a quiet thanks as she took the drink, sipping on it as she sat back. “Oh yeah, that would definitely be worse.” Ophelia winced. “Seeing you like this definitely makes me happy I never got into sports.”

“Listen to me carefully, Phe,” Marcie spoke to her friend, giving Ophelia the look. “I’m going to be away for two weeks but there is no way in hell I’m going to let you not decorate your place for the holidays. It’s a must,” she spoke as she walked into the living room and waved her wand to summon the various decorations she had with her. “Maybe that will make you less gloomy,” she added with a teasing smirk.
Ophelia rolled her eyes. “And here I thought I was going to get away with it this year.” She sighed, getting up from her seat to look at some of the decorations she’d brought. “I do draw the line at creepy angel babies,” She said, holding one up that she assumed was supposed to be cute. Instead it just seemed haunted.

“Short end of the stick?” He deadpanned. “Well, damn. I feel loved.” Dylan rolled his eyes, before shaking his head. “Babe, I married a snobby ass doctor, remember? I wouldn’t be able to breathe without his permission if he thought I was overexerting myself by taking a breath. I’m fine,” he teased. “You good, though? Or did you get caught up in that mess?”
Ophelia shrugged. “Great, that means my job should be easy.” They smirked. “I actually made it out fine. I was by Diagon Alley but far enough away from most of the chaos that I just stayed in a shop until it blew over.” Leaving out their part in the action, she was mostly truthful about her role in everything.

Ophelia rolled her eyes. “That’s actually why I’m here. I drew the short straw and have to make sure you’re actually resting like you should be.”

“Good. I was going to say it’s like you didn’t know me at all.” Dylan smirked, moving his free arm around her when she hugged him. “Nah. He’s socializing with some of his former coworkers or something. I’m socialized out.” He smiled and kissed the side of her head. “I’m glad you came, though.”
She nodded, giving him a small smile. “Yeah of course- honestly anything to get out of work at this point.” Ophelia laughed. “This is nice though, Marcie did a great job.”

“Marce nearly ripped everyone’s heads off because the napkins came in the wrong shade of black. So don’t mention anything to her when you see her,” Hugo mused as he bounced his son up on his hip. “No wonder everyone started drinking early,” he added with a chuckle.
Ophelia nearly snorted a laugh about Marcie, stifling it best she could. “I’m pretty sure Marcie is pickier about all of these details then either of the groom. Though I suppose someone should be.”

“Probably one of my grandmothers,” Dylan jokingly commented, coming up behind her with a drink of his own. He tapped the side of his glass. “It’s my wedding, come on. Why is that surprising it started early?”
Ophelia chuckled, “Honestly I’m not.” She smiled, leaning towards him to give him a one-armed hug. “I am surprised that I’m actually able to talk to you, didn’t think I’d get to steal you away from Emmett. Not that I would blame you.”
“I’m pretty sure I saw someone drinking before the ceremony even began,” She commented mostly to herself, taking a sip of her own drink. “Which has got to be the earliest I’ve ever seen at a wedding.”

Ophelia shrugged, obviously grumpy. “I don’t think so- but whoever did it is fucked up.” She paused. “I wonder if I can sue them.”

Oh really? Well I wouldn't be surprised considering I don't think I've ever seen that girl sober. Surprised she's lasted this long- or made it through law school at all. Guess Mommy and Daddy can't sweep this under the rug.
